Great job. One thing to watch for when changing the oil filter. Be sure the rubber gasket on the old filter stayed on the filter. Sometimes they'll stick to the engine. If the new filter is then screwed on, it'll have two gaskets and that would be bad (leak)!
@maxwellcrazycat9204
@maxwellcrazycat9204 Год назад
I pranked a co worker once by removing the gasket on a used oil filter that was still in his oil drain. He saw it and became extremely worried that he had double gasketed an oil change he had done the day before. I did come clean and told him what I had done. As you can see. He didn't kill me.

Great job Lauren. In the aircraft maintenance world, we call things you drain fuel or oil into a "bowser". Trivia: Bowser was the last name of the guy that invented the automotive fuel pump. General tool tip: Always use the closed end of the wrench when you can. You're much less likely to round off the head of the fastener (or drain plug).

I love that your going head strong into this and want to learn. i just hope that ray will teach you tricks to solve issues like stuck nuts and bolts (and drain plugs), yourself. Instead of him loosing it for you, what does he do when he encounters something stuck to the point he can't loosen it? Call some one even stronger? NO :D He creates leverage using a pipe around tool, same type of tool but longer, power tools and so on. So Ray if you read this, please teach her the way to solve these issue on her own instead of solving it for her I'm sure it will boost her confidence doing all of this, solving these kind of small but important issue :) I'm saying this with all the love and kindness to both of you, i love the content you both put out!

This is only going to get better Lauren as your jumping right in and all guns blazing. Fantastic. Little safety tip when loosening nuts and bolts use the ring end for more grip all around and always push away from you as it saves you getting a smack. Do i see steel toecap workwear nice. When pouring from the 5 litre have the hole spout at the top to stop the glug glug flow and can make it slower like on some other cars that you cant pour it in that fast. As you get on car underneath you will know how far to lift it up so you can reach things easier. You will get used to having a rag and gloves beside you for these little accidents. Wishing you all the best in future repairs. Wife Unit Number 1

I love this new channel! I remember learning how to do all of this for myself over 40 years ago. You’re doing great! Just think it through and have patience and ask for help if you need it. When I was 18, I had a ‘71 Olds Cutlass 350 Rocket engine with a 2 barrel carburetor that was running rough. My parents went on vacation, so I went to the local auto shop and bought a rebuild kit, pulled the carb, put a sheet down in the garage and began disassembly by laying out all of the parts removed in order. Had never done it before, but followed the directions. They came home when i was about halfway through putting it back together and were like, “What have you done?!?” Finished it up and ran better than ever. I then became my dad’s go-to for any repair advice. PS - I’ve been a Chemical Engineer for the past 37 years.
