Hello, they are models halfway between metal and plastic ... we do a championship with Revoslot's Ferrari 333sp ... you can see how they go in our videos ...

They certainly look like they drive nice and smooth. I hope I can get mine working that well 🤞.

We keep them even more stock with nothing more than some longer screws. We found the pillow blocks needed to be loosened to allow the axles to better align, then tighten up. Sometimes gear mesh can be improved by adjusting in a similar way. A few more cheap or zero cost changes can be made.

Thank you John. The front axle was a bit tight in the bearings so that will need to be realigned as you say 👍🏻

Thank you Jason. I race 1/32 scale cars with vacuum formed bodies regularly, but I have not really raced hard body stuff much since I was a kid.

I'll be honest, these are so good even with the tyres that come fitted (which take to oiling quite well), with a few tweaks that cost nowt can be competitive with most guys NSR Moslers!!! The only thing I've replaced on my Marcos (which was 2nd hand when I got it) is the guide which snapped in a sharp bend...the chassis has been eased since to allow an extra bit of rotation for the Slotingplus guides I prefer. We have Revos as a club car class and raced them last week, because of Covid we last raced them 4 months ago...take them out of the box, clean the tyres and they're ON IT! what a fantastic car, I can't praise them enough.

Yes, they have a different design philosophy to all the other makes. I am hoping it doesn’t require much work to maintain. It seems pretty simple so far.

Looking forward to watching what you do with this. My group runs revoslot exclusively these days. Unbox them, loosen every screw exactly once, lubricate relevant parts and add a decoder for carrera digital - that’s all we do to them. 12 cars have gone through that procedure, all but 2 lap within 1/10 sec of each other. My F40 needed some weights to get there, a GTone needed its speed setting reduced by one, it was just too fast xD The most interesting detail for me: every car is equally fast around a lap, but they all drive differently. That GT2 seems super nimble, the Viper tends to drift, the Supra sprints out of tight corners like no other…. Still at the end of the day, every race goes to the wire, many of them see 2 cars cross the finish line within tenths of each other even after 15 minutes of head to head fighting. And when they’re not racing, they even look beautiful on display. I could sing revoslot‘s praises all day long :)

I have heard that the racing is quite close at Pendle Slot too. I will have to get used to the track so I think I will be a few tenths off to start with. I will let the fast guys have a go with the car and get their opinions. Interesting that you run Digital 👍🏻

@@CleaveTech in my opinion you need a digital system for a home track. My 2-lane, about 19m track easily handles 4 or 5 cars with exciting fights and interesting pit stop strategies. Only with 6 cars running did we notice it getting a bit crowded. A 3- or 4-lane track would never fit under our living room ceiling and 1v1 isn‘t going to cut it for long. I would certainly enjoy racing 4 or more others on an analog track, it’s just not feasible at home ;)
@CleaveTech

@@minipaintingforyou As you say, I think digital is great for home racing and where there is limited space. It also requires a lot of restraint to avoid pushing off the other cars in front of you 😉

@@CleaveTech you need to put in the work and teach everybody manners, that’s true. But if every driver knows that such unsportsmanlike behaviour kills their chances in a race, you can get clean racing without problems. The only incidents I see at my track nowadays happen when cars drive side by side and the inside car steps out a little too far in a drift. That’s not a digital problem, would happen on any track with the same width as carrera‘s. And having a slower car in front in your lane while fighting side by side with another is definitely part of the fun. I even use ghost cars if only 2 people are racing on track, often reminds me of the kind of multiclass racing that the Revoslot range would have taken part in irl. :)

@@minipaintingforyou . I have only raced digital a couple of times but the idea of ghost cars to make racing more interesting when there are just a couple of you appeals to me 👍🏻

I’d be interested to see what you think of it when assembled James. On the RevoSlot Porsches I have seen I really didn’t like the large ground clearance at the front, but perhaps they are now different than earlier examples. I don’t think the parts on these are interchangeable with other makes, which is also a little off putting, but may not matter if the standard parts work well as standard. The metal chassis does appeal to me.
@CleaveTech

I am in the process of building it and I have got the front pretty low now. Maybe not as low as an NSR or Slot.it car but as low as I can go. You will see how low in a future video. As you say, most parts seem unique to RevoSlot but they are generally well made.

Why did you go for one the shortest wheelbase Revoslot cars James?

Hi David. I went for the Porsche because the racing at Pendle Slot Car Club is a one make formula. Everyone has to run the Porsche. 👍🏻
