The first week of March saw a couple of sunny days and I headed for Lovely Loch Shiel..I felt that spring had arrived early as I travelled its length by Inflatable Boat
Donny, thank you so much for this. I have spent a day or three catching up on your back-catalogue, and this one just captivated me totally. Such stunning scenery, in a place I know well, but captured to perfection with your amazing filming and the wonderful reflections. I have just had my outboard professionally serviced ( I usually do it myself, but it had been idle for a few years) and I have checked out my SIB and all is well with it, so I can't wait to get out on the water again soon. I expect Loch Lomond will be first on the list as i have a new crew member who is inexperienced...but after that, it's the West Coast for me. Thanks again for your inspiring content, keep safe, and get out there as soon as you can!
Beautiful, I love Loch Shiel to. Love to see it as you did. I’ve bought my first ever boat and that is on a wish list. I just wish I had a 10th of the knowledge of the water that you have. I look at your videos for the beauty and learning curves. You probably don’t know it but you teach a lot of people so much, I thank you for that. If I ever saw you about I would respect your wishes and pass you by with a happy gut feeling of seeing a man I greatly respect. Ray K. UK. YNWA.
Another lovely video. I am slowly working my way through them. You have a charmed life to not only live in Scotland but partake of its wilderness as well. Keep them coming. Thank you, David
Looked a great day out Donny. The reflection in the water looked stunning with the surounding woodland and Islands. Really enjoyed watching. Thanks Steve 👍
I went to Gaskin in the 90's, after Mike Tomkies had left. Such a wondrous place but the weather can change in an instant. I will never forget those three days we spent and what we saw. You can feel the magic there.
You’ve captured the majestic beauty of Loch Shiel to perfection Donny . The reflection footage is the best I have seen 👏 I could have watched this last night Donny but decided to savour this vid this morning while slurping a coffee before getting to work redesigning a box trailer , readying it for trips ahead . I’m hopeful to be water ready in the next week or so and start to break in my new engine on Loch Lomond ... I’m booked into an Ullapool campsite for 10 days mid May ,hoping I’m SIB confident by then 🙄🤷♂️ how hard can it be . Wish me luck 🥃I’ll need it ...😁....thank you once again for making these splendid vids that we enjoy immensely 🥃.
Enjoy the trip Tam..its no different than other boats..just have to suit conditions to suit the size of SIB. Enjoy the latest..I was even swimming in it..it was that warm in March ???
Thank you for sharing. My clan Ranald ancestors sailed away from this beauty and heart ache to settle in Prince Edward Island Canada where there were singing Sands and a tidal island with white sand. How they must have missed the hills.
Hi Maureen..thanks for commenting and Im sure your ancestors must have missed the area when they left. Many folks were thrown off the land they lived on and had little choice but emigrate ..due to the " Highland Clearances" Landowners found sheep farming made them more money than rent from locals. I wonder if that is why your folks left scotland ?
Hi Fishmonster ..Im not sure of the tules on Loch Shiel but most have speed limits and I am aware they dont want you upsetting the rare diver birds when nesting so have to keep well clear of them then
@@donnywilcox Hi Donny. Other unexpected plans this year has probably ruled out a trip to Scotland this year but I really want to get there next year. Fingers crossed 🤞
Thanks Ian..you will hopefully smile at the latest adventure just uploaded.. but then..you know what happens as it was with yourself and the others..thanks for a great time :-D
