Fantastic video and that cruise is definitely something I'll check out! It's so true about looking for eagles that until you see one, you wonder if buzzards might be eagles, but once you've seen the first eagle of the day, that seems like a daft thing to have done!!

Hi Dan, just subscribed to your channel, just watched the Loch Shiel video absolutely fantastic. I,m a retiree and been doing amateur photography for a few years and decided to start into wildlife photography so I have uprated my camera gear and purchased a high res camera and 2 new long lenes which was quite an investment, as a beginner in wildlife photography your videos given great inspiration and has pushed me to get out there and take pictures. as I reside in the northeast Scotland I will give the Loch Shiel cruise a go, Cheers Dan, Regards Alan.

I’ve done the Mull cruise but struggled a bit to keep balance as the boat was bobbing in the swell. I still got a few really nice shots but Loch Shiel looks a different prospect. On the list now Dan. Thanks for sharing and amazing images as always.

Yep, later in the year when all the adults and young of the year, both WTE and Golden Eagles are on the wing, divers have returned to sea though

very nice dan , off to mull in a couple of weeks to see the white tailed sea eagles and hopefully see an otter also as never managed to capture one , what size lens would be best to take on board the mull boat in your experience would a 500mm lens be to long, thanks

Thanks very much. Onboard the Lady Jane photographing the WTSE I would say that the sweet spot is 300mm. I’ve used a 500mm which was great for tight portraits of the head or talons but to get the full bird in shot was too long. I use a 70-200mm but always feel it’s a little short. Hope that helps 👍🏻

Any chance of sharing where you stopped over Just checked out some local hotels Over £300 per night for a double room Even the travel lodge in fort Williams is £200 per night Scandalous 😮😮

That’s a great question Jeffery, we actually rented a Motorhome due to the high cost of accommodation and stayed on a campsite in Acharacle which was really good value. Probably not the answer you were looking for sorry. There is an Ardnamurchan facebook page that might be able to suggest some areas for you also. All the best 👍🏻
