Seeing this just makes me wish that more 3rd and 1st person games allowed you to swap between the two, and I hope that if we get another game it has that feature. It also affirms my preference for chase cameras instead of 360 degree camera movement in tactical shooters, being able to look clear behind yourself without actually craning your neck around to see feels very arcadey to me.
Due to the nature of the camera there is the issue or rotating the head but I do like the fact that you can look at 9 and 3 and still move towards 12. Just looking at 6 breaks it lol
@@GmoneyMozartYeah, having a dynamic free look might be a solution to that where it would allow a certain degree of movement before it moves the actors body. My main gripe is with what the model is doing when the camera is looking behind them, Future Soldier had a much better animation where the model would noticeably look back and stay looking back, not breakpoints weird look back, look forward, look back look forward thing or half assed peek over the shoulder. All of this could be solved with a chase camera and free look combo, but that would be tough for controllers as that would need another button. Edit: none of this would pertain to this mod obviously, just general aspects third person shooters.
@@GmoneyMozart normally I would say this would ruin it for me but after playing it, most of the time your body is already moving in the direction your looking, so everything feels pretty damn smooth.
I like having both options. I enjoy third and first. Sometimes I want to be immersed in the eyes of my character, other times I want to see amazing kit creation.

I'm 1st person all the way. I get why people prefer 3rd, but having the option is very important to me. Besides, this plus Spartan Mod - It'll be amazing!
This is how most games should be from studios who are talented enough imo. Create amazing third person animations and then have your programmers add the first.
I personally have been waitng for this mod. I enjoy the immersion that a good fpp provides. watch dogs 2 has a fpp mod and its crazy how much more detail you can see that the devs put into the game.
Hoping they would crack the mechanics glitches out ( melee animations; stuttering of some npc’s…etc ) ! If Ubisoft opens up to the modders we could rectify some missed opportunities !
First person is much more realistic and forces the player to take more risks. I've loved plenty of both, but for a tactical shooter there's no question in my mind that first person is better, as long as the controls are smooth and responsive. Obviously Breakpoint was built around third person, so it's not surprising that it plays better in third person. But imagine a Modern Warfare game with a true open world and decent AI. I think most of the Ghost Recon community would consider that a dream come true.
I actually like the way it feels. We just need a lock for the head turn so you can’t 360 while looking. A couple clipping issues here and there but it feels good. Different than generic fos movement.
Hey G, yeah there's much to be ironed out in this mod (not that I'd mind anyway being on console), but you know my position on this topic. However, how great do those Sentinel guys look now fully kitted out, man, it's fantastic!
Ya I don’t think I covered the mod either. I prob should. It’s been so long. I didn’t really keep up with all the mods that dropped. As for the fps mod, let’s hope he keeps tweaking it. The blurry mess of it should be able to get fixed, I think.
I personally have no interest in first person, but I still hope they add the ability to do both 3rd and 1st in the next game, it will no doubt bring in more players to the game. It can only help the longevity of the series. We don't want ghost recon to die.
These modders do first person perspective better than actual first person shooters do. I think it has to do with the idea that the rest of the body is animated as if it were 3rd person, which makes it more realistic. No real person moves and interacts with the world the way traditional fps games make it work
im a third person guy but one thing I dont like is night and especially thermal vision in third person, just dont like looking at my character in that filter, that's the only moment I would swap to first, when I flip my goggles down... I like breakpoints third person animation way too much, especially getting injured during a gunfight, it gets really ''immersive'' lol
to me 1st person view only matters when I'm driving/flying vehicles. I get annoyed when I'm flying helicopter for example and cannot rotate the camera and look around or see the dashes. other than that, yeah I'm with G that 3rd person view is better.
Wildlands has the locked camera at your back that makes first person feel more like other games. Breakpoint has the free flowing rotating camera where your character can be moving towards 3 o clock but you’re looking at 12 o clock. So in first person I like this a lot as it makes it seem like you have head movement but it also creates a buggy feeling if you look too far as you can rotate your head 360 degrees due to how the movement and camera translate from third to first. But I prefer breakpoint due to being able to run at 12 o clock and look 9 to 3. Gives better situational awareness imo.
Great mod and nice video! One question though, I purchased the game on Steam and I'm playing online inviting a friend to my game with the Friend Pass. The mod required Cheat Engine to work... could this software cause a VAC ban? Ty
@@GmoneyMozart that would be lit! I’ve been playing with the mod a little bit… it sucks tho because I play it in my Xbox and have a lot of things unlocked on my Xbox but since I wanted to do first person I got it on my PC and don’t have anything lol
Now, men can play this game made for boys. First-person is superior. Wildlands definitely controls like an FPS. It makes the animations look relatively odd in third-, but allows the game to play much better with a modded first-person camera. Breakpoint would need extra steps to make it work as well, but it would be great if he was able to lock the camera to the body until you toggle a free-look.
I think a lock at 9 and 3 o clock would suffice but that might be too much because then when you are in third person it would lock you from rotating the camera. This would need some serious hacking skills. It is what it is. Now the first person plebs can run around like noobs ;)
This game plays better in 3rd because it was designed that way. I will always prefer 1st person, when the game was designed for it I even prefer it in racing games but this is a bit too wonky for my tastes.
I honestly can’t get this to work whenever I try to select the file it’s a GRB_UPP.exe file instead of a GRB.exe file idk if this is my issue and how to fix it?
FPS all the way. I want to feel I am in the game, not controlling some little man running around on the screen. Ghost recon started off as an FPS. I stopped playing them once they became 3rd person.
Personally, I did not enjoy using it. Implemented properly, the game could have been better for it. Obviously it was great work as a mod, but there are just too many annoyances.
for me its not good. this game is not made for 1st person that's how there is no nstural leaning which is a must in now a days fps. only for that reason I'm not using this as you can't see over the corners. also ai has bubble vision not sight vision is not good gameplay using 1st person on 3rd person game.
Thank you for claryfing this is a cheat. Developers create 3rd person shooters because a lot of people are losers and they just can't play the game in the most realistic sense. The same goes with 3rd person aiming mode. That's for losers.
The game is going to be taken offline soon, we need to keep this game alive. It has redeemed itself to the point where it doesn't deserve to die a silent death.
1st person should be in the next game bht as an option and if we only get 1 choice then of course it has to be third person. Why does Deefs gameplay look do much better, weapon doesnt seem as blurry either 🤔 Looking forward to more GR over videos 🫡
