Ah yes, but that last bit of the talk is making a point isn't it? And it makes it too clean, too smooth ... sounds like it just could be a lie to me. And I say that with great respect for one of the most interesting critics around.

I quite agree; it's over egging the pudding somewhat - besides, no one's written about what it's like to be a 75 year old Bob Dylan quite like Dylan.

First world debate on a first world indulgence. Just bs from a guy who doesn't take any of the risks of creating. If I take a line from a song and remember it and change what I think about something...was I lied to? How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

I read the book of essays. Left me cold really, collegical type stuff. No offence, but that is my opinion.
