Evan Cauff Completely agree. These dudes are the highlight of my subscriptions! It’s cool they know what they want to do too- I like the answer where they say they don’t have time for tv. Totally relatable!
It’s pretty cool. I have two brothers that are the same age and I have more in common with one than the other. We are film goers and love the Oscar season!
I never thought I would get so excited for a “React channel”, but that’s not really what you guys are doing here. You clearly put time into researching guild/festival trends and conveying the history of the races to fellow enthusiasts. I always learn new things from your videos and enjoy the approach you take of being honest film fans with a personal take on award season highlights (and without letting favoritism or film politics distract from your predictions). The year retrospective series is my favorite, like using a time machine. Keep up the great content.
So nice to finally have more insight to both of your personalities. Been a subscriber for a long time now and I'm happy to see your channel grow. Hoping you guys could attend more film festivals in the future!
You guys are Great! I'm 58 and have been a fan of the Oscars since grammar school so I can relate to your excitement when talking about the awards. Look foward to seeing future videos.
Glad my question got in! I graduate film school soon(was supposed to this July but we all know why not) I gotta say, film school was very worth it because it helped me better pave my road in my career life. I used to study a different program and shifting to film was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my adult life. I know it doesn't sound good in hindsight, but in my case I'm so glad I did.
Do what I did: pick a major Oscar category, and start there. I started w/ every Supporting Actress Oscar film and found some gems! Then Supporting Actor, etc. Two films in my all-time top 5 favorites came from doing this: The More the Merrier (‘43) & A Letter to a Three Wives (‘49).
Wait a minute! The great Brother Bro mentions the score to Midnight Cowboy(A Best Picture Winner) and THE OSCAR EXPERT says he doesn't know that one?!!! How does this compute?
Since you guys didn't mention it at the TV shows question, I would like to recommend Fleabag (if you didn't watch it yet), you could watch both seasons in a day. Also, I love the chanel and just wanna thank you both for sharing your hobby with us.
I wonder if Oscar films like West Side Story will be moved to February or March, so it could qualify for the Oscars in April. I know for sure that West Side Story will not go to streaming, cause like Nolan, Speilberg isn't a fan of releasing his films to a streaming service(yea sure he's a producer on the Apple+ show Amazing Stories, but that's different, that's a Show, not a Movie).
You guys should do a retroactive for the 1975/6 Oscars. One of the stronger Best Picture lineups I’ve seen: One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (one of only three films to win the “big five”) Jaws Nashville Dog Day Afternoon Barry Lyndon
It surprises me that anyone would be upset about your content. Ignore them. You guys are great - you need to watch Hal Hartley and Jean-Luc Godard’s films if you’ve not.
I really want to watch Big Animals The Movie now. Like, I'm not the only one who absolutely adores the premise right? I'm already imagining the ending being like a Tree of Life / Voyage of Time cosmic epic battle of the ages. In fact, bring back that exact same group. Directed by Terrence Malick, voice and singing by Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Written by Oscar Expert. 2030.
It would be funny if you did a skit where you pretended you were in the year 1957 for example and pretended that you were watching the oscars live. That would be cool.
Finally did Godfather 2 this year, post 30, AND I'm Sicilian and Godfather is one of my favorite films. It was worth the (self-inflicted, gratuitous) wait. And I *just* watched my first Indy last week. Raiders. Spielberg came thru.
i find la la land so rewatchable - watched it 3 times in 2020 and i don't think i've ever actually loved it more. also about what you said about the importance of oscars, i completely agree. the week after parasite won best picture i took my parents to see it and there was pretty much no seat empty (it was a big screen at a cineworld cinema, not some tiny arthouse). if 1917 had won best picture, there would likely be a lot more empty seats at that screening.
@@martinpalmers9061 yes, its my favourite of the decade also. absolutely adore it. i really hope babylon's release isnt delayed ... they were scheduled to begin production in this summer and sadly they had to shut down... still praying for xmas 2021. already feel like its destined to be my favourite of the next decade also haha
Day-Lewis is the king! I feel everybody knows Fassbender is incredible yet he’s still so under appreciated. There will be Blood is a absolute masterpiece in every way! Favorite movie of all time
Oscar Expert: I haven't seen most Star Wars movies Brother Bro: *grins* Something tells me Bro is a huge Star Wars fan and watched them all... [Correction: Bro's not watched Star Wars V, which is the best Star Wars according to RT and EW 😆]
@@quindariousgooch4696 But it was a strong year for the Oscars. One tremendous but critically inaccurate biopic, A Beautiful Mind, one excellent murder mystery in Gosford Park, one fantastic fantasy adventure film, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, one fun and stupendous musical, Moulin Rogue!, and one solid but not stupendous crime drama, In the Bedroom.
