Hi Jamie! Courtney is absolutely amazing. The best thing to happen to the music world in decades, if not forever. You've only heard a couple of her uptempo songs, but she is equally great in everything from Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and there never is any loss to the incredible quality of her music. She even had an opera clip go viral on TikTok. You can't fully tell from this video, but she is a true stage beast, in the best sense of the word, and dominates a stage like no other when she's rocking out. She's a dynamite guitarist, plays piano and is a true powerhouse as a song writer. As you hear more of Courtney, you'll realize what a truly generational talent she is. Frankly, for me and many of us, she is the true voice of a lifetime. Courtney is 19 now. There have been many hurdles for her to get her original music out. First were issues with her label, where they tried to twist her into something she didn't want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to pop. Courtney stood her ground. Then Covid hit and shut everything down for over two years. Courtney is British and travel was completely shut down from the UK to the US (where here team was) during that time. Then her label was sold, leading to whole new levels of chaos. As soon as she could, at the beginning of this year, she walked away from her label and went independent. 'That Girl Don't Live Here' is a terrific song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not to want to move with it. Not only is the song fabulous, but the video is a work of art and perfect for the song. It's just my opinion, but I think there are a number of messages here. First, Courtney is singing about, among other things, no longer being that 13 year old girl everyone fell in love with on AGT, and which a core group of fans want her to remain, which of course is impossible. Courtney, with her incredible creativity, used that theme to drive the video, in such a unique way. Past/young Courtney sees new/current Courtney in the video and follows her through the closet/looking glass into a whole new world, in this case Wonderland (from Alice in Wonderland). Secondly, for the last four plus years, the labels have tried to tell Courtney what she should be (as I mentioned above). Courtney stood her ground and said 'No'. Fortunately for all of us, she did, because no one else makes music like Courtney does. It's only my interpretation, but at the beginning of the video, when someone comes to the door asking her to sign something and she turns them away, this represents the labels, with whom she is done with. Lastly, when all the paparazzi come to the door and she turns them away, she is saying that to be able to release the kind of music I love is more important than the possible fame if I have to sell out to get it. Since Courtney has gone independent, she has already dropped five incredible originals (including this one). The other's are 'Breakable', a gorgeous, gritty ballad, 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it, the incredible rock anthem, 'Monsters' and 'Christmas Rocks', which is a fabulous new rocky Christmas tune that will simply demand that you move with it. All of her original new music is on her RU-vid channel and would make for terrific next reactions. There is no other voice in music like Courtney's.
I'm a Courtney Hadwin fan and I hope you check out more of Courtney. The one you mentioned Sucker is a good one also Someone You Loved is absolutely fantastic. I've not heard a voice like Courtney's in years and I'm 69. You can't go wrong reacting to anything Courtney.
I love her new songs and the videos for “Monster” and “Breakable”. Two great songs. “Call me Back” is another new one. There is also a fun audio only video for her Christmas song “Christmas Rocks”.

Thank you for this! I'm a huge Courtney Hadwin fan. This is the 2nd of 5 original songs she's released this year. The others are Breakable, Call Me Back, Monsters, and Christmas Rocks. They're all very different and showcase Courtney's excellent range of styles. I especially recommend her new songs because Courtney doesn't block reactions like the labels she recorded for or the talent shows she's been on. Since she went independent this year, not only hasn't anybody had any copyright problems reacting to her original songs, she commented on at least one reaction, thanking him for doing it. I'm a little older and I have totalling become a Courtney Hadwin fan. She seems to have the voice , talent and stage presence of a big time performer ....Her new original music at the young age of 19 is incredible. I believe her first album is coming shortly.

She was on AGT in 2018. At her audition, she was 13. (She turned 14 during the competition.) Her audition song was Otis Redding's "Hard To Handle." As for this song, yes, she wrote it herself, with her producer/songwriting partner Kevin Bowe (she writes the lyrics, Kevin does the music). You should watch the song she did after this one, "Monsters." And yes, definitely watch "Sucker" (Jonas Brothers cover from 2019).
You hit Courtney on the head. This song is phenomenal because it is hers and it shows us what she is capable of. I agree that she does not care, she just does it the way she feels it needs to be done.

All of the material released in 2023 is Courtney's original.This is the second one. Breakable is the first, followed by Call Me Back and Monsters. Monsters won the Coolest song of 2023 as voted on by Little Steve's Underground Garage. It has already been covered and restyled by a fan. She is ON HER WAY. Her promise is to release her first full album in 2024. Could you look at Breakable and Monsters. I think you will find a big variety of genres but an absolute quality performance as usual.
