May I suggest viewing two videos of Marc with a band called The Black Jacket Symphony. Marc and the band perform two songs: "We Are The Champions", and "Bohemian Rhapsody". You can find the two videos doing a RU-vid search.
I'm glad to see Marc getting the recognition that he deserves! I've been watching him for years and I absolutely love him! I'm a Christian and I've been watching his career for years and I love his song "How many kings"! It has become my favorite Christmas song...actually overall favorite song! I love him in the Queen tribute band! He is awesome and should be the front man of Queen not Adam Lambert.
I agree and I also believe it is important that he is also known for his awesome piano playing/musicianship. Many many covers of all kinds of artists. love watching first timers listen to him/ I'm going to see him and his band this Dec in Miami-seen him before and just as good live!!
I had the privilege of see him live 2 years ago, just before the lock down and it was like to be at a Queen concert. It was....something unbelievable. Please, react also to Bohemian Rhapsody. It wilp blow you more!!!!!
Hello Sabina, I am 53 years old and since I was 10 years old Queen and Freddy Mercury have accompanied me. I miss Freddy very much, and I listened to many cover versions and was mostly horrified. I didn't know Marc Martel at all, but this boy has the absolute stuff and a fantastic voice to give some comfort to the fan base of Queen and Freddy. Freddy would be very proud of him. Will definitely keep an eye on Marc and hope that there is still a lot to come. Best regards from Germany
He has a big tour coming up in Germany in 2023, if it doesn't get postponed again. It's not on his website right now, but he posted about it on his socials.
Queen actually hired Marc twice, first to lead their own cover band Queen Extravaganza managed by Roger Taylor and Brian May, and then again as R Gray mentioned below to provide vocals for the movie.
I caught his audition for Queen Extravaganza years ago.. really gets your attention. This has been my favorite song since hearing it as part of the Highlander movie origiinally .. years after it was in theaters. I heard Marc perform this as part of QE for the first time and choked up pretty bad. It was like hearing Freddie sing it live. Not having been a fan, you still get used to the voice and the way it was originally performed. Took a big talent to create it and a similarly big talent to do it justice today. Vocally I think Martel and Mercury are two of a kind. Cheers.
Marc didn’t know much about Queen until the early 2000’s so he was getting Freddie comparisons BEFORE he became a huge fan of Queen. Eventually as the comparisons started to pile up throughout the years; Marc went into Queen’s discography & feel in love with the music. In 2011 he auditioned for Roger Taylor’s official tribute band for Queen. He won the spot & went on tour with the band. Nowadays Marc has his own Queen tribute band called “The Ultimate Queen Celebration” (which we’ll see in a future reaction video👀).
@@sabina1118 lol Marc’s joked in interviews saying “Who is this guy that is making me sound so unoriginal?” when discussing the Freddie comparisons he got at his band’s (Downhere) shows.
@@sabina1118 he didn't realize how unique his gift was until he uploaded his audition video of Somebody to Love in 2011. It went viral immediately, and he was astounded and couldn't believe it at first.

Mark was the ‘voice’ on several of the vocals for the film Bohemian Rhapsody and has covered most of the most famous Queen songs includong Bo Rap which now has 20m plus views. He is also adored by Celine Dion - say no more. I am glad you have now discovered Marc.

I was a big queen fan when i was a teenager, I saw them in dortmund when i was 17 (thats 43 years ago). I loved the filmversion in "The Highlander". He sounded really like Freddy. What a great coverversion.😁😁
He is the reincarnation of Freddie. I've seen all of his songs, especially Queen covers. It even physically resembles him I think your life will change now, you will look for everything on YT under the sign of Marc Martel :)
Not reincarnation, since Marc was born while Freddie was still alive. I WOULD like to see a DNA test, however. I'm sure they have a common relative at some point not too far back.

Marc fronted his own multiple award winning Christian band (called "downhere") for over 10 years. Then he auditioned for Roger Taylor and won the lead with "Queen Extravaganza," Queen's "official" tribute band, in late 2011. He sang with them until the end of 2016. When they were not going to tour in 2017, he started his own cover band, "Ultimate Queen Celebration." He's performed with them since, along with "Black Jacket Symphony" (they do EXACT recreations of famous albums, in live concerts), "Symphonic Queen" (in Mexico, with a full symphony orchestra), and as part of "One Vision Of Queen" (basically a re-named UQC), touring eastern Europe. He has several albums of his own music out as well. Marc also did vocals for the "Bohemian Rhapsody" movie. The 30+ year old analog magnetic tape master recordings would not have been up to modern "Dolby Atmos" digital quality standards, so they used a technique called "vocal layering," where they blended Marc's voice with Freddie's. If they didn't have a good copy of Freddie singing something they wanted in the movie, it was purely Marc singing it. for some reason, they gave Marc almost ZERO credit in the movie and after. But, if it wasn't for Marc, that movie could never have been made. This is a beautiful cover of a classic Queen song by an artist I’ve never heard of, until now. A rich vocal with a clear thoughtfulness as to how the song should be sung without the benefit of a full band. Seeing Queen twice live was a privilege. @@JoshCarlos1998 Live Aid was amazing. You are always a bit dubious about open air concerts given our weather. However, it was a hot sunny day. Status Quo opened up the proceedings. Even managed to see the US version via the large screen…Phil Collins had jetted off to the Philadelphia US concert by Concord. It was a day I will never forget…concert tickets were £25. You can squeeze in two drinks and maybe a burger for £25 these days.
His piano version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is great too. They used his voice in parts of the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. Why not show Henri that one, and it will be a new reaction for both of you. I actually think that performance is even better.
