Some of the strongest Lyrics I’ve ever heard…. Emotional, sad, and totally relevant to our world today…. Fantastic video to match the Lyrics adds to this sad unique song… Quite Brilliant…😢❤️💥
This is such a powerful song which treats its topic in a smart sensitive way. It perfectly reflects what we've been enduring for these last two years of pandemic: fear, guilt, paranoia, shattered social interactions, isolation, loneliness... Still we seem to cope with all this somehow and try to cling to our humanity. OK, we live in troubled times but Marillion is my vaccine against hopelessness. Great, wise and heartfelt reaction as usual, Summer 👏👏👍 And I'm pretty sure anyone can see tenderness and more in other people's eyes, even behind a mask 😉❤️
This is hitting really hard as i lost a friend after a long battle with Covid yesterday, they have certainly made a very powerful song for these strange times we are living in. But another really interesting and and thoughtful reaction, thank you Summer.
The truth is, people have experienced what they are singing about. It catches a moment in history even after we are moving away from the immediate danger, there are still people carrying guilt for their situation. I have just been reading experiences from other Marillion fans who have gone through this.
Glad you got to this recommendation, and see it hit you as hard as I expected. Deserves to be a huge hit with such a great message and powerful chorus, but of course it won't be. Like me, I am sure you are waiting with great interest for the new album due out next month. Promises to be wonderful, so will keep an eye out for your reactions. Enjoyed this reaction immensely, even if you looked very sad for a while. Stay safe.
Summer the new album is now out. I would highly recommend listening to the song Care which is amazing . This song certainly prods our emotions. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RA7Dl7TTrOQ.html
I must confess that every time I see that you upload a video reacting to Marillion I automatically watch it because I know that you always get very thoughtful and the video becomes interesting 😂 Regarding the song, at first I foolishly believed that the singer treated all of us as potential "murderers" 😂 but then I found a quote from Steve Hogart himself talking about the song and I realized that he was talking more about his own fears about the pandemic and how a love projected in the wrong way can also be very harmful and even "deadly"... As always, Summer, I love it when you reflect like this and draw your own conclusions, you left a great message with that "kill negativity with love" very nice ❤️ And of course, I share your message at the end, you have to keep taking care of yourself because it's less until this nightmare is over and if you haven't done it yet... get vaccinated!🙂 P.S.: Get well soon from that cold 😂❤️
@@SummerMcGaha I wasn't saying the vaccine thing for you, but in general, but I wrote it wrong and it was misunderstood 😂😂😂 This was the Steve Hogart quote I found about the song: "I tried not to write about the virus. But it's been so much a part of life for the past two years that it kept creeping in. The terrifying reality that to wrap my arms around my father or mother could ultimately kill them, gave birth to this song. The lyric was then developed to hint at jealousy and heartbreak - the pain of watching the woman you love embrace another man, or the emotional 'murder' of the serial adulterer. And, of course, the arms of the superpowers, and the psychopaths who sometimes have their fingers on the triggers. Beware the murder machines..."
I liked the song. I haven't heard much from Marillion in years tbh. Stay strong & focus on yourself and your friends & family, defend what you can control. In New Zealand we've done extremely well thanks to our Government. It wasn't easy but the country as a whole followed their restrictions from the beginning. Yes we have the conspiracy brigade & currently a small protest happening in our capital. I'm double vaccinated & recently the booster! If I get it mild or severe at least I have a better chance of surviving it. Check out Demarks recent decision to remove masks & all restrictions. Good decision? Time will tell! Keep up with the song reactions. I apologize for going off topic.
It’s been such a difficult two years for the world - everyone has their own way of dealing with things, and hearing the Marillion ‘take’ is another. This has really grown on me, and I keep dwelling in the lyrics. Take care.
Hi summer early marrilion the fish years great after that I think they went down hill did you listen to echo and the bunnymen and if not start at the begging there from my home city also please try out Shack the album HMS Fable music is good for your soul 👍 and Summer please be kind to yourself with kind regards Richie
You have got to keep your head up. I may not agree 100% with what you have said but I understand where you are coming from. Keep in mind what propaganda looks and sounds like, there has been a lot of fear mongering out there. I respect you, please don't take anything I have said to mean anything different.
..💞😍Michaela...you are such a sweet lady...my gosh....💞 you look gorgeous ...💋 however ive noticed that covid issue's affected you..i think its not that dangerous as they say....its more like a tricky situation......🤔.....ANYWAY....WE WILL ALL DIE...😁😂.
I received my copy of An Hour Before It's Dark yesterday. It is a great album. Did you get a copy of this album? I liked all the songs, but this song & Care have made the strongest impressions so far on me.
I will be able to listen to it at the end of the month. :) This month was unpredictable, a Microsoft subscription for office software took the yearly payment and I wasn't expecting it, so I've been trying to keep things balanced, doing surveys and scanning barcodes with shopkick.
This song is awesome and terrible too. The new album is a pure gem, I listen to it again and again it grows stronger and stronger on me as always with Marillion, I'm focused on absorbing the music in my brain and my heart for now, I'll dig in lyrics later. Marillion is one of my favourite bands along with Genesis, Porcupine tree, Pink Floyd. Marvelous one.

Hi! I hope you and your family are doing well! I haven't heard the new album yet, but I'm excited about it! I will listen to it soon. I reacted to the album F.E.A.R, but RU-vid wouldn't let me post my reaction for copyright reasons, so I put it on my patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/first-reaction-59190015?
Not Marillion at their best. Mr Hogarths voice clearly isn't what it used to be. Overall the message is not delivered with power. Outside of some nice guitsr work the song is bad.
