Geddum stokes. First watched you throw when I was cutting my teeth at morley and learning from our local legends in late 80's. Back playing again after similar time off as you. I too am looking at the sport with a new lens at 53y/o. Would love to meet you if you ever make it to sd
From one Scott to another - you are not only a remarkable ambassador for the sport of disc golf, but also an outstanding human being. We love your passion, kindness, positivity, humility, and generosity. You absolutely earned your place in the WDGHOF and the sport would be incomplete without you. God bless and all the best to you and yours. Cheers!
The sport doesn't need anyone, but it sure benefits from people like you helping others . You have helped it grow a ton. Now that it is making money and paying out to players it is growing even more. This sport is awesome because of the people such as yourself. I feel like it's the people that make it fun, it's the money that makes the pro tour happen. Most people aren't pros. Therefore the people are the important part.
Scott you are a legend in Colorado and across the world. The disc golf community is lucky to have you, and I am super psyched about you getting an introduction to the WDGHOF.
OK, sure, you could leave the sport and it would just march on without missing a beat. But that's true for anyone in the sport. I don't care how big the name is, if he or she left the sport, the sport would continue on. HOWEVER, the sport is so much richer because you're in it! You're a humble man, Scott, so someone had to say it, so I did. Congratulations again!
I’m happy for you Scott- it’s been a good run over the last couple of years. When I first found you here, you were camped in the desert, with your shorts tied together with a rope “Jethro Belt.” A fine 2nd act, in an already remarkable story. Congratulations, brother!
Congratulations and thank you for the inspiration. As a chap in his early 50s it has me asking myself 'what am I going to do (and give) in my second half...?'
It is so cool and rewarding to see the guys that taught me the game back in the olden days make it into the HOF. You'll always be an honorary NorCal Legend.
Now remember, and please think about this, ANYTHING you do, receive, accomplish, win, in this world, is utterly worthless in Gods eyes, and there are rewards to receive in heaven that will far surpass anything you can do in this lifetime.
This great sport I just discovered may not need you, but we're all better off for having you, your wisdom and compassion for us all in this sport. Thanks for showing us it's not all about the money.
