Finding a five star read is one of the most gratifying reading experiences! Also, the way your cat is sleeping in your tbr cart is the most adorable thing ever!
your giggles at the beginning sounded so much like luke franchina’s and that fact + having a new reading vlog from you really MADE my entire day after a lot of stress 😂❤️
In my country, that drink ? Is called a snow cone. it's shaved ice drenched in a fruit based syrup topped with condensed milk. Very delicious. it's street food
Proud of you Mel for making sure your mental health and comfort comes first. Love your videos and could you so a video how to get back into reading/staying motivated to read?
I'm currently without a job and I love to read every single day. I'm gonna finish my 19th book of the year tomorrow and I hope I can read 100 books this year. Last year I was able to do so, then I did have a job, so I should be able to do it again.
Similar reading goals for me this year too and so far, has lead me to read so many more 4/5 star books! Currently finished the entire Saga series in one sitting ✨wrecked ✨
i felt the same way about 5 centimeters per second, i thought i was going to love it but it just kinda fell flat for me and i wanted so much more from it. i’m learning that i’m the same way with rereads! i’ve been rereading crooked kingdom (which is one of my favorite books) for 6 months and i don’t know why i just can’t finish it. i’ve also dnf’d rereads in the past because i just give up. i thought i was a reread girlie but i think it depends on the book😅
Omg if you like glorified ice, you should totallyyyy try this Filipino dessert called halo-halo! It's glorified ice with toppings (sweet beans, nata de coco, nuts, shaved coconut and other goodies) and a scoop of ube ice cream!
Finished 'Angels before man' and 'Kiki's delivery service' this week. They were so polar opposite, but I just definitely needed a comfort read after my heart got ripped out lol.
I just read Love Radio, Dear Martin and Legendborn! All good reads: two 5 stars and a 4 star. I love vlogs so even if there is not much reading, I'm here for it!
reading the stolen heir rn & i'm soooo boredddd 😭ik it's not the cruel prince but i can't help comparing & i just...don't love it as much! also i can't get over the fact that the love interest has hooves 🤨 the only thing that's getting me through is that i ordered babel, the stationary shop, & the invisible life of addie larue & i just know they're all gonna be five stars reads 😍(if not i will riot)
Hi! New to the channel and subscribed. Can’t wait to see the rest of your content! Just bought my first physical books in SO long and am so excited to read a few physical books again and perhaps try my hand at annotating. I’m reading the first book of the Crescent City series by SJM and had just finished book 4 of Zodiac Academy which ripped my heart out 🥲
VLOG YES! Queen don't be ashamed to love what you love heheheheh Raspadinha é tudo de bom! (this is how we call in Brazil but we usually don't put condensaded milk, will try next time for sure)
I struggle with rereads as well, in the last couple years I have preselected 6 books to reread throughout the year (i'm very goal oriented when it comes to reading lol) and it's been nice to revisit books I've loved, but more often than not, I seem not to like them as much on the second read so I'd rather just keep my initial positive thoughts 😅
i have series FOMO with Ninth House lol currently reading Thing we never got over by Lucy Score.. its my last book for this month and im not feeling it 😅, I hope you've had a good reading month so far
Your reading goals sounds so nice! I also saw your podcast so aaah will be following! The Brandon Sanderson book looks STUNNING. I've been reading cytonice by brandy sandy and loving it so far!
Loved this video!! I also had a weird re-read experience of Ninth House -- the representation written by a white author rubbed me the wrong way and ultimately I gave my book away. Anyways, I appreciate you sharing ~the slow reading~ and also these vlogs are always amazing. For this year, I've already adored The Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi, and I'm SO SO SO excited for The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest ❤❤❤
I hated ninth house. It started strong and then got so boring. It was almost 500 pages of pretty much nothing happening. The ending was laughably stupid
I have to add something to your critic on Leigh Bardugo. You talk about her as a white women who may not be fitted to write about ethnic, culture, race etc but I think it's important to know that she's also Jewish, which is seen as an ethnicity by most, not only a religion. And Jewish people I think know enough about persecution, prejudices, being judged etc. Of course it's totally different than being Latina and if she did not do it justice that's on her, but I'm just saying she's not a privileged white lady.
