Here we go, my brief review of the new Gen4 Tiger 1200 GT Pro, following my personal ownership of all three previous Generations. Have you tested the GT Pro?....what are your Comments?

My 1st Triumph was the 500 Thunderbird, and the 2nd was the 650 Bonneville and that was many moons ago and many other bikes seeing Iam 73 years old. My last bike 5 months ago was a 2015 Harley Davidson Road Glide touring bike. I was forced to let it go because of this damm countries high prices and my only income from my disability check from the Vietnam war. Everything here has gone up so high, I had to consider between my bike or family. But God willing I will find a nice enduro like the 1200 BMW GS and ride till I can't hold it up any longer then convert her into a trike, and ride till I die. Have fun, keep the wheels to the ground, and the wind in your face.

Glad you kept your Gen3, I love the smooth triples!

There seems to be an interesting trend developing where existing tiger owners don’t get on with the T Plane, where newcomer Tiger owners seem to enjoy the character.

Hi Justin, You make a good point and one that I was thinking about the other day. Existing owners may hold onto their bikes longer than planned and then buy another brand, However, Triumph may capture new buyers from other manufacturers who like that twin thrum! On reflection, I may not enjoy the T-plane crank of that engine but will probably put up with it in the future, as the 'weight loss feel' is so much better than my edition. Cheers, Paul.

I agree regarding fuel consumption on the V2 multi but remember that was 32mpg with smaller american gallons

@@YarroMoto that works out at about 38.5 mpg uk. Still more than I would find acceptable

@@teamgas Still not acceptable to me, when I get 45-48mpg out of the Tiger. The V4 MTS is so lovely though 😍

Test rode one today. Its a heavy bike despite its weight loss, but this isn't a problem. Handling is superb. Great comfort and performance. The vibes are there but are just noticeable and not a problem. The t-plane engine sound under 4k revs takes some getting used to. Above that the sound is like a typical silky smooth triple.

Useful video, I moved from an explorer to a 1200GS due to the weight, now maybe time for a change , 1250GS or this, similar money but rather concerned about the vibes for distance work. I always loved the smooth triple, this sounds like a parallel twin

Interesting Stephen, that you went GS, so, look forward to hearing your thoughts after a ride on GT Pro👍

I love the sound of the t plane cranked engine on this new Tiger and it certainly looks more contemporary than the V3 but there seems to be some conflicting reports on the vibrations again much like with the 900 Tiger, by the sounds of things you didn't find it too bad. I think you are right in sticking with your current bike for a bit longer and take another ride at a later date when they've unlocked the sport mode. The Tft would get tiresome with that long lag at start up... Thanks for posting, I was curious how a long standing multi generation veteran would react to Triumphs newest incarnation...

Been looking forward to you posting this. Finally managed to book a test ride at my local dealer in a few weeks while I get some work done on my wife's Triumph. I was really disappointed that the first thing the dealer said to me was, "You can only have it for 30 minutes"! Take me that to figure my way through the menu and electronics. Really like the look of this bike but definitely want to try the sport setting to see if it has the excitement factor I still crave as well as the sensible shaft drive and touring capabilities. Ideally I would like the bike for two to three hours to properly decide if its for me. I already don’t like the arrogant sales manager at my dealer. Maybe I need to try somewhere else??

I bet that was at Suttons, they offered me similar conditions when I wanted to test ride a crf 250 Rally. The thing is at the moment there's such a shortage of bikes they've probably got their quota sold so they're not that bothered. I find Staffs Triumph more helpful, it's another half hours ride away for me but I find it's worth the effort and there's some nice roads over there too.

@@tigersquad3734 Yep you're right, it gets mentioned in my next vid! Barely be able to get out of Tamworth before you've got to get the bike back. TBH I'm still not sure it's worth taking out for such a short time, not sure I could learn anything. We've been to Staffs Triumph and they are the best of the bunch in our area, just a bit of a journey.

I know only a quick review as you know I’m a gen 3 guy and loving it. Would you be happy to ride in on gen 3 and ride out on the gen 4. What’s your thoughts is there enough to float your boat as we say 😆🧐

Hi there Morris & Sykes. If it was a smaller financial difference, I’d place my order (next Blue allocation was Oct at that dealer!) but I would not be able to retain my pannier set, as frame completely different…after configurating one up, plus £1,600 panniers & top box…. it came to nearly £20,000 😱. Will wait and see if SW Motech create pannier rails for this model and then I can retain mine👍 I have the funds to buy one…I’m just tight🤣

Engine sounds floppy does that sounds come across live when riding?
@YarroMoto
@YarroMoto 2 года назад
Not sure I know how you mean by “floppy”?….it just sounds like a twin until revs rise…it may sound better in Sport mode, once I can try that 🤔. I’ll do a brief update, once Sport has been unlocked.
