No changes on the 2023 vs the 2022 except for color changes. So, if you can snag a 2022 for cheaper, get one!
The badge of the GS isn’t just for any motorcycle. It’s for bikes that are the Swiss Army knives of bikes. The dual sport of all dual sports.
Some things I wish were stock on this bike: spoke wheels, hand guards. Something to make it look a little more rugged maybe.

@UltralightMotorcycleCamping
I've had my G310GS for almost three years and I'm still loving it. I only have a couple of more farkles to add. The generous three year factory warranty expires in a month but I never needed it. I've done all of the scheduled maintenance and the baby GS has been easy and inexpensive to maintain with long service intervals. I mostly ride rural secondary roads but I've ridden on the highway, typically when a ride goes longer than planned and we want to get home without hitting a deer on a country road at night. It's not bad on the highway, although that's definitely not where it shines. It's great for twisty country roads, gravel roads, dirt roads and mild off road, and that's how I use it. I enjoy ultralight motorcycle camping and it's ideal for that. I wish BMW offered a G310GS Adventure version with a 5 gallon fuel tank, tubeless spoke wheels, an aluminum bash plate, engine protection bars, larger and more aggressive pegs, and fully adjustable suspension front and rear. Those upgrades would cost BMW less than $400 and I'd pay $2000 more for that bike. I can't add a larger after market tank, so the 2.9 gallon fuel tank is honestly my only G310GS disappointment. All adventure bikes should have a minimum range of 300 miles. Bike manufacturers, not just BMW, look at their small ADV bikes as beginner bikes. They use them to get new customers on the upgrade path to their mid size and full size ADV bikes. Older riders typically have more discretionary income and are buying smaller bikes because they have trouble handling and lifting larger bikes, but I'd argue that a small ADV bike like the G310GS is better off road for all riders. Unfortunately, the marketing department doesn't want to admit this, so they won't sell full featured lightweight ADV bikes because most people wouldn't buy their more expensive larger bikes. That's why smaller ADV bikes are built to a budget and are stripped of premium features. The companies would rather sell someone their first bike, that leads to their second and third. They aren't interested in selling old riders their last bike, so they miss the opportunity to make an R1300GS Adventure profit margin on a G310GS Adventure.

Agreeeeeeee!!! The KTM 390 Adventure is a strong competition bike to the 310 GS and people will look to the KTM because it is equipped with crash bars, skid plate, hand guards, and a nice display. If BMW can give us some factory farkle that would be rad. The small displacement bikes aren’t just for beginners either. Every bike is a choose your own adventure, for sure. Good thought points for manufacturers. Thanks for your comment!!

Just bought one as my first bike 1 week ago, I had my 3rd ride yesterday and I'm very happy with this bike for my skill level. I feel like it's got more than enough power as a beginner rider and is light enough to build a good foundation of riding skills

I have 1500 miles on my new gs in five weeks, in cold weather. I use Barkbusters, Grip puppies, Big Paw puppies on top of that, the Atlas throttle lock, Airhawk R air seat, always ride with ear plugs and I find it really comfy. Been riding over 50 years.

Hi Mother, I wonder how you compare this G310 GS to KTM 300DUKE. Best regards

You’d want to compare a 310 GS with a KTM 390 Adventure. The 390 Adventure costs more than the 310 GS but is fully equipped with all the bells and whistles. Are you wanting a strictly on road bike or some off road adv riding too?

I’d vote for the 390 A over the 310 GS.

Is it equipped with quickshifters?

Not the G310GS. The G310RR that available in India will be equipped with quick shift.
