This was so cool!! My family was on the 2nd train. My mom was one of the crazy old ladies asking all the cast members dumb questions. She asked you if you were on RU-vid and you told her you were waiting all day. 😀
People are saying the magic is gone, but the happiness in the crowd and the cast members holding hands and cheering people was AWESOME. Everest was my #1 Disney coaster but it's fallen to #2 behind the Incredicoaster at Disneyland park. Great video. :)
I was going on the everest ride but the line was 2 hours and we couldn’t make it because it started to rain. Is it really worth it I wanna have an opinion to see if I ride it or not
I was about 12 or 13 years old when I got on Everest the first time and I remember seeing a giant scary yeti strike at me. Over the years I went back on the ride multiple times and never saw it again. None of my friends and family knew what I was talking about when I mentioned it, so much so that I thought I had somehow imagined a moving yeti in my head lol. Now looking it up online is when I realize I’m not crazy and how lucky I am to have seen it fully working. What a bummer that it hasn’t been fixed. It really added to the ride.
They can’t fix it. The problem is the structural integrity of the internal mountain structure itself. If they get the yeti back in motion, it will break the supporting structure for the whole ride.
@@dvcreservations Pretty much nothing could be more expensive than this to fix, so it just isn’t worth the cost. Especially now when Disney is looking to reduce spending in their parks and maximize ROI what they do spend.
I was there that day but didn’t check because it said open April 16. It was the day before my wife’s 50 birthday. This is her favorite ride, and her favorite park. We even tried switching days, but Disney didn’t have openings the following day.
I always thought the track back was the same track forward and I always wondered hype about it lol thank you for this I can’t believe how fun that looks
Rode it three times last Thursday! Strange thing, there's apparently new tradition of throwing hair ties at the broker track stop. They were EVERYWHERE!!
I literally was planning my Disney trip around this ride. I want to ride it while avoiding the huge crowds due to the beginning of summer and now the opening of Comic Rewind. I was hoping the last week of April will do the trick and it worked!
I’m literally doing the same thing, but the only thing is kids will be getting out of school soon. & I would either have to go a day during the week when kids are in school or go when they go back which is in august 😩 … decision, decision, decision
@@vlogswithlaurynlove9099 Jesus, ya it's been the most planning I've done for a Disney vacation. I use to just wing it but with so many changes this year, Covid, ride openings, and Genie plus, it was a lot.
@@Nicole-by3ng planning is a must for me, I really want to stay at one of the Disney resorts not only to get early entry into the park but just to have the experience as well. So I’ve been doing a lot of research on which would be the best resort choice. I really wanted to do two parks this time but not sure. I went to magic kingdom last thanksgiving well the day after thanksgiving and I really enjoyed myself. Hadn’t been since I was a kid. I was wanting to do animal kingdom & either Epcot or universal but still thinking on it. I know for sure I’ll be doing animal kingdom… I may just go in august though seeing that I have another trip at the end of May to Las Vegas which speaking of that trip I’m still needing to plan everything for that trip 😩 don’t wanna stretch myself to thin …
I just went 5 times today! First when I got there I rode it twice, then I bought a fast pass and rode Flight of Passage. Then I ate at Satu’li Canteen and then rode it 3 more times with the single rider line. Turns out every time I waited in the single rider line , it was a 10 min wait. Compared to a hour wait
I waited outside this ride yesterday before it was supposed to open, since it was scheduled for today. I walked towards the mountain and saw a line outside and I was so confused. I asked people in line and they said they were waiting because they heard speculations that the cast members may open a day early. I was so excited because yesterday was the only day I would be in AK. And after waiting for about half an hour, the cast members caved!!!! Everyone screamed bcuz many ppl didn't know it had opened early and there was no wait! There was only about 20 people in that line to start, but soon people were sprinting towards the line. I heard that the first couple waited outside for 6 whole hours begging the cast to open. I loved the ride so much and it was better than I remembered. I think they also added a loop after the broken track!
Disney didn't fix the yeti for a reason, they have the means to do it, but fixing it would require deconstructing the whole ride just to fix the animatronic that would likely break down again in the future. This would require a closure lasting from 2-4 years.
