Its funny your one of the few people who say that throwing a new rider on this would be fine. And I completely agree with you. I hear constantly people say rain mode sucks and it so powerless, but them say a new rider cant ride it. The weight for the dct is no more then some smaller displacement cruisers that are considered new rider friendly. And if your a new rider with the self control to keep it in rain mode its a good option. You can buy it and no even have to worry about getting bored of it. You could have it for 10 years and not want to replace it. I did my msf course saved up and bought one. Plan on taking it easy in rain mode and learn the bike. And i gave no doubt ill do fine.

seeing how you can only go 99 ish on this thing makes it even better. there is no reason to be going that fast I know some places the speed limit is 85MPH but honestly I'm stoked this thing can only go so fast. makes it somewhat easier to stay away from tickets.

The rev limiter keeps the revs from going into a dangerous area. These bikes are built to ride out of the crate. Proper break-in according to the manual is recommended. @@MotoCityTV I have seen certain features on other bikes that would limit max RPM to 4000 and slowly raise that limit over the first 1000 miles. I think Triumph does this, but don't quote me on that. However this does not seem to be a feature present in the Rebel 1100, as you hit 8000 RPM after your second turn already (at 4:00). I don't much care one way or another, since I am not gonna be buying that bike anyway (I live at least 10000 miles away), but it made me cringe nevertheless.

AS UR FIRST BIKE?!?! WTF!? In the EU ur nit even allowed to. Ur license is first restricted to 48HP and Power/Weight ratio of 0,2. After 2 years u can upgrade from the A2 license to a so called A license without any restrictions. Dont the people see that its dangerous to drive a big strong bike as a newbie? In my Driving school I started with a 125ccm bike. I learned to use the clutch, let the bike stop and go and so on. A big strong bike will make this much harder for u to learn. Dont trust these guys, especially americans (which pretty much can buy there motorcycle and gun license at the gas station) who think that all is about the driver and not the bike u drive, because thats wrong! always start with something small and reduce the risk of accidents.

This is absolutely the worst Rebel 1100 review I've ever seen. The rider knows nothing, is incompetent, didn't read the owners manual, pulls out into cross traffic while staring at the gauges, redlines a 0 mile brand new engine in manual mode, against Owners Manual instructions. He has no business being on this new bike, he's demonstrated being dumb as a rock.

It is not done on the rev limiter it is done on the speedo input , if you notice he still had 500 rpm to spare but it would not go any quicker. It will do the same top speed with the extras fitted like the batwing fairing. I believe the single front disc is the limiting factor the new NT1100 has twin four pot discs up front and not limited to 100mph just like the Africa Twin.

Should you upgrade for a 1100cc having a 500cc 2020 already? NO. is not worth, for the type of riding. is not made for speedy trips...is a cruiser...so with the 500cc is already enough. we are talking about having fun while driving to nowhere...in my opinion, if you have the 500cc ...stay with it. then if you want something different like a kawasaki z900 to offer you a totally different way of riding...then upgrade. i have the 500cc rebel 2020 1 year and a half now...and is awesome. but i wouldnt pay 10k to have the same feeling i already have on my 500cc

WOW! Only 99MPH from a 1100cc bike that only weighs around 500 lbs. My CTX700 DCT also around 500 lbs can hit around 85 to 90 and it has 1 tooth down on the front. Would probably hit that 99 with the stock tooth count and it's only a 700cc with only 51HP. Honda if you read this if you're going to put the African Twin engine in the Rebel then put all it's power and toque in as well. Not worth the upgrade in my opinion or not upgrade in my case.

Unfortunatly you do not know what you are talking about: The modes are rain , standard , sport and user. You were probably in user mode. There is no such thing as sport 1 , 2 or 3... Thanks for your message Dan. I have owned DCT Africa Twin and the DCT layout was WAY different. The AT did have the modes I spoke of "Sport 1, 2 and 3" and this one clearly does not. Honda did not provide any documentation on the function... So I was winging it... checking it out as a new rider would. I did explain in the video that the bike was in User Mode... and thus the reason it was not acting as I "thought" it was going to. Another day on the bike and I'd be able to much more intelligently and smoothly explain how it works. NOW... All of this aside... HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR BIKE? What can you tell our watchers about your experience thus far? I personally think it's a fantastic machine as outlined at the end of the video. Cheers - Kyle

I absolutly do not care about top end power, mid range torque is where the fun is for me. The Africa twin is tuned quite differently and makes 20-25 more horses than the rebel and this goes a long way to explain the difference in top speed. I certainly agree with you that this is a very good machine. Thanks.
