First Ride on My New Transition Sentinel 29er

You may have seen in my last video that I visited the Transition Bikes Factory Store and demoed an XL 2019 Transition Sentinel. I bought the bike but couldn't bring it home because I made some upgrades and had a couple things fixed. But now it's in my possession and I got to take it for its first ride. I went to Raging River Trails in Issaquah, WA and climbed Upward Mobility and descended Poppin Tops Upper and Lower, then Flow State.

Thanks so much! You'll love it!! It took a ride or two to get used to it for me since I was coming from 27.5 tires and different geometry. But absolutely love it.

Took me 40 miles of riding to dial in and adjust my 2021 sentinel. My experience on a previous bike with a dpx2 is that they need air volume spacers for heavier riders. Got the xo carbon fox factory with x2 rear. 520mm reach on the xxl..lol

Great video! Do you roll the handlebars forward on your setup or is that just the camera playing games?

I think it's just the camera, I've noticed it looks a little funny on camera. But my bars are exactly as they came from the shop, haven't changed them.

Sick video, dude! And good job forcing yourself to make the climb! MTBing is an awesome way to have fun while disguising the cardio/workout. Curious how tall your are. I am currently looking at the Patrol and Sentinel. I will be attending Outerbike in Bentonville AR this weekend and will be testing both.

It's perfect for me. I'm 6'1" as well. I thought I would be on the fence between the sizes but I personally love. I was able to demo both a L and an XL.

@@stevejohnson18 nice! Ive parking lot demo the xl seemed a bit of a reach but I think on the trails it might feel more comfortable, thanks for the insight.

I think that’s to much bike for the type of trails you are riding. That bike is very slack at 63 degrees. Not the best for peddling and climbing, beautiful bike! But more set up for enduro I think. You would have done better with a trail/all-mountain bike.
