You do d good on your first trip out. RU-vid channels have so many ways to help you get better out there. I recommend watching The Minivan Lee show. She has lived in her minivan for 7 years and has lots of tips for learning. 🎉
CONGRATS on your first overnight! It's not always easy, and just an idea... a lot of people take out the back seat. It would give you room to build a simple bed platform with storage underneath - so you can stretch out. Hope you have fun and keep vanning! Good job! 👍
to prevent stuff from sticking to pots and pans use low/medium heat and stop turning frequently, leave it alone for a light crust to develop, for added prevention from sticking before u turn or flip add a little grease or liquid, depending on what ur cooking
With each trip you will figure out what you need. Good sleeping arrangement is key, I see someone mentions air mattress, good idea . get a small folding table for outdoor dish clean and a teflon pan. Have fun!! I just subscribed,
Get some attractive, sheer curtains at any big box store. Grab some magnets and magnet them to the top of your van when your doors are open. Will keep the bugs out, looks great, and is very reasonable And great. Video!
I just found your channel and subscribed. I need me a fur baby. He/she sounds protective of you. You need some bug screens. That way you can keep your windows down. At night it get a lot cooler. I sometimes get to cold and have to rise them.
Very nice video, esp for your 1st outing. You may like taking down half of the back seat to put a cot or raised platform there front to back for sleeping stretched out. This will also give you some good storage space. I like your cooking setup and organization in the back. Have fun, stay safe!
Love this ❤ I've been thinking about doing this for awhile. Im a little over a year out of being divorced, all kids are grown and on their own so lately I've been really wanting this... been watching lots of videos like yours and joining groups on fb, slowly been making purchases of the bare necessities to get started. During my marriage (ending) I did sleep in my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk to test it out, wasn't too bad but I know I can make it more comfortable with a small amount of effort.
I can't pay someone $43 to sleep outside no way lolol I have yet and been in gorgeous spots I pray I never have to I can't do it. The most I have paid for a spot camp spot with everything shower trash fire pit water was $12.00 I do mostly BLM camping forest camping tho also
youre doing great & you already learned you need netting etc. Btw your kitchen setup is boss! I am only an occasional weekend car camping warrior. For me personally I always try to make sure I am not using the facilities at night in campgrounds. PEOPLE GET WEIRD when they know you are a solo POC camper and that guy walked by and saw you were alone. Just please be careful. Like I said I am a big man and I do not go to the bathroom after dark. There are great potties you can buy for your car, (JUST SAW AT THE END THE FEMALE URINAL SECTION! GREAT!) just a suggestion of course. I am just trying to look out for my sister out there! Keep doing the thing. LOVED the video and your dog is great!
Congrats on your maiden voyage! Agree with the camp stove. I have found they have two settings: so low it'll take two hours to boil water, and nuclear blast. A learning curve for sure!
Pa. Wilderness Adventures-- Suggestion take back seat out and Use an Air mattress from a box store (walmart0, leave the cooking stuff and food outside in totes. If you're in-Bear Country, A bear can and will break out a window to get at food, its best to keep food away from u as best as u can and use a bear box or bear resistant cooler. All in All, love the video looking forward to more
@@iamchasinglight #1 rule with bear -- Stay calm don't run away. Look at buy a Air Horn(find them in the sporting section by the boat stuff paddles lifejackets) from wallyworld the decibels on that is enough hurt the bears ears. Bear spray will blow back in your face, if you dont know what your doing and thats the last thing u want is pepper spray yourself because of wind factor Wallyworld has a bear resistant cooler(keeps food cold up to 9 days i found) as well its where i got mine from a little expensive like $140..but in National Forest its bylaw in bear country to use.. Knowing is power
You can get attractive, sheer curtains at Walmart or any big box store. Grab some magnets and magnet them to the top of your camper over the doorway when it’s open. It’ll do great at keeping out bugs and looks nice and is very reasonable.
I slept one, 1 night in a truck stop. That's not camping to my mind, lot lizards, loud semi trrucks coming and going like crazy. I won't do that again. Your campgrounds are serene and beautiful. Liked, subscribed, and left a comment (for the Algorythm) You'll probably make several changes, like building a nest. ❤🍀🦋🌼🐦 f@iamchasinglight
@@iamchasinglight I'm taking it slowly in trial runs here and there, but at this point I need all the confidence and encouragement I can get. Thanks again! 🥹👍🏼
First time is always excited but finding what improvement you need for the rest of your camping days, that mushroom on the tree looks as if its sticking its tonge on you 😂
SO glad the algorithm brought me to your channel I LOVE Black vanlifers! SO proud of you taking the leap and doing it! What year is your minivan because that is a great vehicle to car camp in!
that's ok.... i'm not chasing for it to go far, this channel is a project for me to enjoy and look back on. plus, it makes me appreciate anyone who takes the time and patience to watch it so much more... & i'm extra grateful when a comment is left. ( ;
