Hip Hop CULTURE began as a rebellion against NYC segregation/racism...Three of the original Black Spades, Khalef aka Karate Pete, Sunshine and Fat Mike discuss how Hip Hop evolved from the teenaged Black Spades during the segregation days. During the racial segregation of the 50's and 60's, racist people would chase down and beat up african americans in the bronx, ny..There was strict rules and regulations in n.y.c.h.a..The original Black Spades were a group of teenagers who fought back against the racist, which enabled Mario and other dj's to throw outside jams..The birth of Hip Hop culture..

Wait a minute... so dudes were actually "rappin" to girls at parties when they were trying to get their numbers and get their mack on? So that's where the phrase, "rap to a girl" came from. I never knew that. I thought it just meant talk. Yo, I would've had some funky fresh lyrics to spit to a chick if I grew up back then. I

MRC ProMotions idk i m going to do more research but i think pop locking started in los angels which is kind of different then break dancing and its been said that pop locking started in the 70s the same era that break dancing started in ny so its possible that a piece of hip hop culture started in LA

PEOPLE TEND TO FORGET THAT REGARDLESS TO YOUR LIFESTYLE WE DID OTHER THINGS. THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT OTHER LIFESTYLE. LIKE DANCE AND CREATE ART AND MUSIC. IT WAS DONE THROUGHOUT OUR EXISTENCE. THE OTHER LIFESTYLE DIDNT INFLUENCE THAT. YOU WERE A DOPE DANCER JUST BECAUSE. JUST FOR HISTORYS SAKE: THE HEVELO HAD ANOTHER NAME BEFORE IT WAS THE HEVELO. *(NOT GONNA GO THERE AT THE MOMENT) AND A LOCAL DJ WHO USED TO ROCK ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BRONX IN ANOTHER POPILAR CLUB WAS ROCKING THERE AT FIRST. BUT THERES NO DOUBT THAT IT WASNT POPPING LIKE IT WAS WHEN HERC CAME IN AND BROUGHT HIS EQUIPMENT ON THE MAIN FLOOR. THAT WAS THE PLACE TO BE EVEN BEFORE THE EXEC STARTED REALLY POPPING...AND THEN TURNED INTO THE SPARKLE AND HERC WAS ALSO ROCKING THERE...
