My neighborhood!!! Mott Haven!! Deep south Bronx... Brook Avenue, Saint Ann's Avenue, etc. Casanova didn't mention Betances Projects on Brook Avenue. If I'm not mistaken, the Spades originated in the Patterson's projects in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, where Guy Ritchie is from. From Mott Haven you can walk to west or East Harlem. That's why it's called three bridges. This is one of the best RU-vid channel. Period. You're interviewing legends like Cassanova, Trixie, Sasa, Coke la rock. Wow! Keep up the good work.
TINY, CHUBBY,BAMBI,BRUCE LEE,HAWKEYE,JOSEY WELLS,GARY GREEN,BIG MAN,DICEY, PUMPKIN,PEANUT,MIKE MIKE,WATERLOO,R SOME OF THE ORIGINAL CASANOVA CREW OF MY PJS PATERSON AND MOTT HAVEN
Can you get info on how/ if the black spades impacted the prison system dynamics in the 70s -80s? I’m in California, by the early 80s, crips had change the prison politics, because they numbers grew so quick.
ALSO HOOTINANNY,JAZZY JAY,I WAS OUTSIDE WHEN PEANUT ( R.I.P) GOT KILLED AT A FLASH PARTY AT I.S.167 IN 78 BY THIS KID JOE KIDD FROM THE BOSTEN RD CREW.CLESTIS WAS THERE.
many of them was probably still in nyc streets but probably not still reppin as a "baby spade"...i don't think any spade was still active as a spade in the 1980's... i don't know
Michael Waynetv That guy Black Jack that you mentioned years ago came to mind.. thats why i thought that. Remember fat mike saying late 70s early 80s.. but maybe Black Jack had joined one of the drug crews by that time... 🤷♂️
It would had so good if spades and other gangs etc had controlled hip hop. All rap artists would had to be sign to them. I am sure it would had been war with other gangs from out of state but NYC would had won and control Hip Hop. Spades and others would had districts in each States and around the world.
@WizardsPath.. the Black Spades do still exist... they are now TBS The Black Spades New Direction... with a security company doing community service food distribution etc
@WizardsPath.. the Spades never really became a generational movement... tho there are some younger brothers as Spades.... but the Original Spades are getting close to 70 years old
South Bronx!🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷☝️✌️👍DJ Kool Herc is widely considered one of the founding members of Hip Hop. He was born in Jamaica, but emigrated at the age of 12 to the Bronx. This clip shows how his Caribbean heritage influenced his music, but how that influence goes largely unrecognized. Although DJ Kool Herc cherished his roots, he did not overly publicize his ethnicity in fear of backlash from the his new American community. In the interview he switches from his ‘American’ voice and his Jamaican accent. He states the Caribbean community were characterized as ‘smelling like curry’ and ‘being dirty’; this reveals dissonance between American blacks and the Caribbean, and the need to hid parts of his identity in order to be accepted. However, regardless if everyone was aware of it, Caribbean music did influence Hip Hop’s creation in NYC.
@@pvj2234 You tethers are so lazy,Just do your due diligence and look it up yourself. Y'all are so use to FBA'S doing the heavy lifting and putting in all the work🤦🏽♂️
@@melanatedwarrior3530 Herc said no such thing. I’d be no better than you if I said I attended a Kool Herc party, but my oldest brother did. Early on he rocked the Roy’s and was on that dancehall tip. Brother, you don’t get much more Jamaican than that. You saying a Jamaican has no Jamaican influence is just irresponsible and a lie.
How are Black Spades dead when they were making videos in 2019 ? Look man you can even see that on wikipedia thatthat club, gand still exist to this day. Same is true withthe Savage Skulls, December 12, 1969-present. Savage Nomads, July 23 1967.
