Well done Chris good to hear it running at last but do double check the timing to get it at the exact setting for max power eventually I would definitely fit new points but wouldn’t file the originals just use fine grit paper😊 And a touch of grease as mentioned 😊 Won’t hurt if you put a bit of oil in the cylinder while it’s resting 😌 Hope you’ve solved the wiring and use proper crimps and no connectors use electrical grease on connections and the main earth to stop corrosion 😊 Look forward to seeing you riding it😊 I have a BSA C11 1948 Amongst others. Thank you Phil for all the great advice. I did fit new points, condenser and coil in the end, more for peace of mind than anything. It's coming along now, wont be too much longer till I ride it for the first time i'm sure, but the 252 hours i've got to work in March will slow me down a bit.
