T15 Bolt Lock Mod - Rap4 Inspired Version
🛑!THIS MOD WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!🛑
This mod will make your T15 not fire when no projectiles are present in the breach or if a projectile is not properly seated. As the bolt is blocked when this happens you'll save both air and a potential mess due to paint chop. It also adds the realism factor.
Step By Step:
We started of by constructing a T15 upper clamp out of plywood. This clamp will lock the upper down securely, making sure nothing moves during milling. This clamp is a simple and easy way to reproduce the procedure and won't do any harm to the upper.
Once the upper is secured we started taking measurements of how deep and wide we would mill. An easy way to quickly find the limits of what should be milled is to mark where the router machine stops when hitting the top and bottom of the barrel adapter feed hole.
We then started by drilling two holes in each end of the "slit" so that we knew the absolute boundaries and minimized the risk of milling to far. The drilling is done with the barrel attached meaning you will drill through the barrel adapter and down into the upper in one go. Make sure to tighten the barrel lock screw prior to drilling. Next we milled out the in-between material resulting in a "slit" 6mm wide and 19mm long, which is the same length as the feed hole.
We then removed the barrel and widened the "slit" in the upper by ca 3mm (up against the Sleeve). This extra drilled out area will house the "lip" of the "Bolt Block".
We refined the two "slits" with a Dremel tool.
Next up we drilled a 3mm hole horizontally in the upper, behind the dust cover into the opposite side (not much is needed). This hole secures the "Cross Pin" that will hold the "Bolt Block" in place.
We rounded of one end of the "Cross Pin" for easier installment.
We then moved on to The "Bolt Block" which we roughly cut out of the 5mm aluminum with a Recip Saw to later refine with a hand file and fine adjusted with a Dremel. A 3 mm hole was later drilled in the upper corner from where the "Bolt Block" will pivot and stay secured (make sure to drop the "Bolt Block" into the "slit" and mark the hole to be drilled through the upper receiver's cross pin hole).
Finally all parts were assembled starting with dropping the "Bolt Block" into the machined "slit" and then secured by the "Cross Pin" which in it self is secured by the spring loaded Dust Cover.
When marker is leveled normally, make sure the "Bolt Block" is rotating freely and stays in its "down" position blocking the bolt when no magasin is inserted. Perform a locking test by coking the marker and fire in a safe direction. The bolt should be stopped by the down tilting "Bolt Block". If all works proceed with loading a magasin with projectiles and try again. Recock your T15 and fire. Your T15 should fire and cycle like normal until the last projectile when the bolt should lock back.
(Optional) A spring can be added to always push down the "Bolt Block" but is not necessary if all parts plays well as the block will always fall down.
Remember that when using hand tools and not computer guided machines nothing will be exact. Therefore small refinements and constant testing of the parts is recommended. Your result in any or all steps might differ and should therefore be considered a unique build and not a copy.
