Not even close. That team wasn’t even close to a ring they were just hyped up to be a favorite because of the names on their roster. That season was a circus of injuries, coaching change, and multiple offensive scheme changes. Also pile on that Kobe tore his Achilles at the end of the season. That team wasn’t even close to contending for a ring and the lakers didn’t make the playoffs again after that (Howard was gone) until the bubble finals.
