You really think NFL players would have the stamina to run up and down the court for 35 minutes? NBA players gotta play both offense and defense ain't no way the NFL guys would survive
just because you are fast and tall, doesnt make a wide receiver, let some of these nba players actually try to catch a pass when being covered by NFL defensive backs, most of them would be smothered because they are not fast and shifty enough to get any separation from actual pros before ever actually taking a hit to the ribs.
Only one making sense… Football players are better athletes… they have to cut on a dime, be fast, strong, quick, and jump high… not every basketball player has to do that to be great… look at Luka, Jokic, Embiid, Tatum, JJ Redick, Larry Bird, Dirk, Duncan, shit I can go all day… Football players are more skilled and better athletes
Exactly!! Not to mention getting off a jam.. they don't understand pad level. The only position an NBA player could play is TE and DE.. and still that's gonna take a special talent
The average NBA salary is 10 million. The average NFL salary is less than 1 million. The average NBA career is one year longer than the average NFL career. That's why I believe there are WAY more NBA players that could play in the NFL than the other way around. If you chose the NFL over the NBA, you just made a bad choice.
It's different athleticism. Football is all about explosion in short bursts. Basketball is a mini marathon. With that said. Failed college basketball players have went on to dominate the pros. Via Antonio Gates. Jimmy Graham. I don't know of any failed college football player doing anything professional in sports.
@@kylegardner6272because football players CANT HOOP. This is universally know that bball players can translate to football easier than going to football to bball. It happens all the time growing up.
@@abihamal7874nah probably not Calvin Johnson or Julio it takes an extreme amount of work and coaching to be a route runner like them at their sizes. You don’t often see guys that big run routes as good as them. Maybe a TO type
AH yes the "I played football in highschool so I could go pro" ahh argument like the league aint a billion times better There a reason nobody goes from HS to the League A reason that law is in place
I think the best way to explain it is, in the nfl individual llayers have less to do, either catch or block or run routes, not saying its easy at al but when you play basketball you have to be able to defend dribble or jump high, or shoot or be able to create off rhe dribble theres just more things for individual players to do in basketball than football
Here's what you do: 35 each from the NBA & NFL. 10 teams. Teams of 7. You make it a pick-up league where captains pick whoever they want, teams can be any mix of players. Basketball games can either have real refs, or make it street ball. NFL can potentially have a designated QB playing for both teams (different QB different weeks) or teams provide their own from players selected. Teams wear pads.
I think mfs forget us Florida boys played multiple sports and still do. Most of the players drafted from Georgia, texas, Florida football players actually was good at basketball. Its hot down here once football season gone we had no choice but to play multiple sports
austin said play in the nfl, not start. so yeah, EASILY 30 nba players could play in the nfl. and 30 nfl players could not play in the nba. but the main reason for that is because theres less players per team in the nba. in basketball, an ENTIRE team is pretty much the same size as just the starting players on an nfl field. so theres WAY more room in the nfl for players to make it in vs the nba.
I think a lot of nfl guys could do what pj tucker does💀 bro started a close out game in the playoffs, stood in the corner waiting for 3s and had 4 fouls…
YES! Erik Swoopes NEVER played any organized Football, after his college basketball career was over, said let me try Football and made the NFL for several years
AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Micah Parsons, Kyle Pitts, Justin Jefferson, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, CJ Stroud, Deebow Samuel. Could all make an NBA ROSTER just off the domeski 😂
As a former NFL player it would be hard for a NFL player to go to the nba just based on height alone. Nick said because of dribbling and shooting and I think he has a point. There is NO nba player that could just switch over. It would be a hard transition for them too. Anthony Edwards is a great athlete but to think he could just go play safety because he’s athletic is trying to say that there’s no skill in playing the position. What is he gonna do when he’s one on one with Alvin Kamara? Is he a box safety or a deep safety? Can he get off of a block from Kittle? Just because Josh Hart can jump and he’s tough doesn’t mean he can just go play WR. The man has never ran a route. The NFL isn’t just jumping up and catching a ball lol there’s so much that needs to happen before you’re even in the position to use your athleticism
This conversation has been fun… but the truth is this….. There are more guys in the NBA who could transition to the NFL than there are NFL guys who could transition to the NBA.
Nah it’s really not. Being athletic in shorts vs pads is a huge difference. I think people also truly underestimate the physicality of NFL football just regular routine stuff hurts in football plus it’s outdoors in the elements. There’s a lot that goes into the mindset of a football player than just the athletic part. I mean things like ankle sprains keep NBA guys out weeks to a month most NFL guys play with that and you don’t even know
@@VvVT734 Exactly. NBA players are shifty but being shifty on the court is way easier than on grass, turf, or in snow with pads on, limited vision, etc. The toughness is just not there with NBA players as you mentioned. NFL players are like NHL players in that it's like a badge of honor to play hurt. NBA player are more like soccer player. Nothing wrong with that, but don't tell me they could just go to the NFL.
this is being discussed in terms of Athletic ability ...Basketball is a worldwide sport and NBA has only 500+ players....you have to be the crazy skilled or athletic to make the league...
Deaaron Fox would be wild as a Wide Reciever. He's 6'3 which makes him 2" taller than guys like Hopkins & AJ Brown. He's runs the equivalent to a 4.3 40 yard dash.
There’s 1 drill on this earth that made basketball players realize that football ain’t for them because they don’t have the mentality to play it. And that drill is oklahomas. Run that drill and see if those rivers still keeps that opinion 😂😂
football player here. i love this topic. i think 'we' are answering the question 'what position would this guy play on the football field". but we think we are answering 'who could play in the nfl". when you talk about starting lineup in the NFL on sunday. ionno. that's diff. assuming a nickel defense. the' 3 * 32 = 96 starting professional cornerbacks on the entire planet. -- Just b/c Player X gets buckets don't mean that he can run combo coverages and form tackle and everything else at the level of one of the starting 96 on the planet. in the NFL.... the highest level. he gotta take somebody spot. who is already doing it together. ionno. and it's a different kind of strength. and how long you gave them to do it. and what possessed skills (if any) are transferable. i like this kinda sports hypothetical. zion as one of the hoggies is the one i 'buy' the most.
Bro I don’t even think most the nba guys are athletic enough to play in the nfl. That’s a totally different level of athleticism and physicality. Being 6’7 + in the nfl is not necessarily a good thing. Lebrons knees would be SHOT I don’t think it’s a single player in the nba you can drop in nfl minicamp right now that will end up on a 53 man roster and actually play in the nfl. Just like you can’t drop any of those guys in the nba so my answer for both is ZERO
TBH it is more basketball players that can be good at football but a lot of basketball players switch to that sport because they didn’t want to hit or be hit🤷🏽♂️
@@gutenbird if you can make a team. It's way less spots. Going overseas isn't close to the NFL money. This NBA players make more money argument is flawed.
Something lost in this is that there are 32 NFL teams with 50+ players while the NBA is only 30 teams with around 12 players so OF COURSE it's more likely to go from the NBA to the NFL and be successful because there is more room for great players. That doesn't mean NBA players are superior athletes. They are just bigger winners of the genetic lottery with many being born 6'6 and taller.
If its plug n play practice squad players would run laps around any NBA player. They wouldnt get signed much less see any playing time. This is ridiculous
Zion. That's it. That's the list. Even NFL players were saying they could see it. Colleges were interested in him for football despite him not playing for a reason. Maybe a young Westbrook and Draymond but even that's a stretch.
Draymond is too tall tbh. At 6'6" you're locked into being probably a TE or lineman. Draymond is tough for an NBA player but no way would he survive in the trenches. People forget TE's have to block... not just run routes. Russ could probably make it. He was explosive af in his youth, but yeah, it's a short list. Way shorter than 30.
I think out of all of them, russ and ant have the mentality to play football. Ja morant too but has to put on weight and I’m only saying those 3 because those guys love contact.
Lol Okc is not the clippers bro Clippers would have won but the old guys got to tired Okc is gona run the mavs till they loose they legs. We will see as the round goes on I give mavs 1-2 games Okc wins in 5-6 games In my opinion And I like the mavs Especially kye and luka But the only person on they bench that averages double digits is PJ Washington And that’s like 11 ppg Okc bench will outscore them big time. I just don’t see the mavs pulling it off I could be wrong……. But I’m not 😂
If it is so much easier for an NBA player to jump to the NFL... how come you can not only jump to NBA from High School but also be pretty successful. HOF successful. Kobe, Lebron, KG, Tracy McGrady, Dwight Howard, Jermaine O'Neal, Amare Stoudemire, Josh Smith, Kwame Brown, Al Harrington, Kendrick Perkins, JR Smith, etc. Tell me another sport that has High Schoolers jump straight to Pros.
Everybody in the NBA can play in the NFL at some position especially wr and corner and safety and tight end. 5"9 is not rare in the NFL on offense and defense but almost nobody is 5"9 in the NBA. Gtfoh😂
to say Nfl players cant play in nba is ridiculus because in the nba now all you need to know how to do is shoot and play a little defense you can pick a handful of nfl players to do that so it goes vice versa. Also devin futchess just became the first nfl player to sign a professional baskellball contract.
NEITHER OF THOSE PROFESSIONAL LEVEL SPORT HAS ANYONE WHO CAN PLAY THE OTHER!!!! There is nobody in the NFL who can beat out anyone in the NBA. And conversely, there is nobody in the NBA that can beat out anyone in the NFL
Wide receiver, safety, corner, and special teams, yes, an NBA player could play because those positions are all about athleticism. NBA players are usually tall, so a handful of QB's could maybe play in the NBA. Mahomes played ball. Esthetically, some NBA players could make could make an NFL team...
Has no one seen Randy Moss college highlights? Charlie Ward did both in college and then chose NBA Antonio Gates played hoops There are more NFL guy can be in the NBA [as guards].
Im tired of moving speed being an illusion I been dawging space time for a while AHHhhh time for RESULTS and gets some drag and force going. Time to move out and on from speed illusions and constraints
