After watching more than 60 BL shows, this still remains in my Top 3, along with A Tale of a Thousand Stars and I Told Sunset About You. I'm glad that you posted it here.
@@mevans3291 lol i litrally lost count how many i watched... But name it i would have possibly watched it...i mean mostly asian 😂... UWMA is sure one of my top BLs
@@khushbukawadkar6268 same! I've watched the spectacular, the good, the ok, the great and the just plain HORRIBLE! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Looking forward to many more this year!
@@Psynergic The feelings it put me through. I washed my keyboard with tears but the happy and cute parts are so worth it. I fell in love with the characters AND the actors (I wound up watching another BL where Korn's actor is one of the leads, that's how much I loved it all)
One of my favorite bls. I've watched it at least 100 times before starting your reactions to this. It is indeed very emotional.Thia series definitely gets you in your feels. But I have to say one of the best an one of my favorite OSTs so far.
Btw the Adult Actors and Actresses are Veteran Artists in Thailand so expect a very great acting scenes and also the Singer of the OST is one of the most famous singer in Thailand.
Until we meet again was the first drama that I watched that got me into it. I have watched so many now. They never get old but this one is my favorite, bad buddies is a good one to watch too.
"This IS the FIRST episode... right?" cause like same, when I first started the series I was baffled with the first episode. Overall, UWMA is my ALL TIME favorite BL series along with TharnType and 2gether :D
Shawn, your "sigh" during the scene of Korn and In talking about their potential future as a couple, was the response of each and every viewer who watched it, knowing that those two were never able or allowed to have it. Now, I am 😢 😭 😢! It covers so many topics, that up to the year the series had been released in 2019, hadn't been focused on in the BL genre. I know that BL genre is all about fantasy, but I think one of the very many things that make this series so unique, special, and well recepted, was that it delved into the real life situations that many LGBTQ+ individuals faced in the 80s, and sadly still even in 2022.
Definitely! This one really hit hard for me. Didn't help that I am the same age as Korn & In. The 80s were rough. 2022 and things are a real rollercoaster. We just approved Equal Marriage in my country which goes into effect next month, but with that brings a new rush of homophobia and transphobia out into the open. Just last night I went to a nation-wide candlelight vigil for a trans boy that died in my city! So much heartbreak. Anyway... shows like this are so important and I'm very thankful that Director New and Studio Wabi Sabi were able to put this out into the world, and now we're starting to see the change and growth in the storytelling coming out now.
@@TiaTruly Congratulations on your country finally approving Equal Marriage for all. It's going to be a long, tedious, and difficult reality for the majority of people in your country to accept, but the fight is always worth it.
@@TiaTruly hah! I once calculated that if Korn and Im had attended my high-school (or I, theirs) then we would have probably overlapped at least two years. And knowing that somehow enhanced my appreciation for the show. Congrats on the gay marriage milestone!
Hey! Historical perspectives are my schtick! 😆 And your comment does both UWMA's place in the evolution of BL genre* and points out the real world historical differences between the 1980s and the 2010s. The climate for LGBT folks really did change a lot in 30 years--except in the unfortunate ways that still persist.
UWMA is my favorite BL, it gets a pretty dark but it doesn’t weigh down the story or plot!! I am so excited you are watching it, it definitely deserves more recognition!
So glad you're on to this series. Until I saw Bad Buddy, I could easily say that UWMA was my all-time favourite BL. That's been shaken a bit, but it's not really fair to compare them. Two such VERY different series, but both really well done.
Agreed!!!!!!!!!! I have UWMA still first and Bad Buddy second (it broke into my top 5 very easily) and the only thing that could have gotten BB to tie for first was if a proposal happened though we know they mentioned it at the bar in ep 12 but otherwise they were two great series with awesome relationships and storylines.
I can confidently say BBS will be my forever fav thai bl(until i find a new one). Maybe its becuz i watched UWMA after BBS. I like UWMA too but for me it felt somewhat lacking. Like, i feel like it could have been better(thats jst my opinion tho)
The word for boyfriend/girlfriend in Thai, แฟน (faaen), is actually gender neutral and I really freaking hate it when subbers gender it. I mean sometimes it is gendered to specify a girl but English translators almost always gender it when they don’t need to 🙄
Ohh yeah! Welcome to the best weeks of your life. This show is something so different and we love the traffic stop gang. (they have red, yellow and green bags Parm, team, manoaw so that's why they are called the traffic stop gang). And yeah there is a drinking game also if you want to. To have a drink every time you hear P'dean. Not all of them are translated though so you need to really listen.
Until We Meet Again popped up in my recommended and I read the synopsis on mydramalist and I'm so glad I did cuz I would have be like what the heck am I watching
I want you to watch the teaser and trailer of เเอบหลงรักเดอะซีรี่ส์ Secret crush on you the series. I think this series is very cute and worth following. I hope you will see.💞💞
*"This is episode one right? RIGHT?!"* *proceeds to check the episode* 👀 Lmfao exactly my reaction when I saw this show... I have been watching bl for 7 years and UWMA remains along with I Told Sunset About You, A Tale Of Thousand Of Star and now Not Me as my favorite series.
Hi!!!! First thank you for picking up this series to react. I'm a HUGE Fluke fan. But I love everyone in this 😍 I will definitely follow up!!! I hope you'll love this as much as all of us #MyBue did! LOVE your reaction so far! 😘
Fluke's performance in this show coming down to the end... remains my favorite BL performance ever by an actor.. you won't be disappointed when u see his hotel room scene. Plz check out Manner of Death also.. it's a groundbreaking BL that has a murder mystery to it and is not set in a university like other BL's. MaxTul are the stars of it.
Oh hello, welcome to the emotional roller coaster that is Until We Meet Again, please attempt to keep your heart and your soul inside your body at all times and always have a box of tissues handy. Enjoy the ride!
so glad you're reacting to uwma.. there's such a wide range of topics to discuss and i think the series itself does a great job of addressing a lot of them.
UWMA is the first Thai bl I ever watched. From week to week it got me through some tough times. I guess for this reason more than any other it will always be my favourite. But yeah. Good choice 👍
But seeing Kao here, it reminds me of "Lovely Writer". Something I would recommend you as well since it's a bit of a BL satire and criticises the thai BL industry. But in a "nice" not preachy way.
Yes! So glad you've started UWMA! It's one of my all-time favorite Thai BLs with A Tale of Thousand Stars. You gonna cry, A LOT, so prepare your tissues. So many serious subjects as suicide, homophobia and trauma are present in a respectful way and I'm curious for your future analysis.
This is the reason I've raised my kids the way I have. From the beginning ive let my babies know that it's ok to be who they are that no matter what i will always be there and love them. I didn't come out to my family until I was in my late 20s and already had 3 children and was married. But a mom knows some parents just don't want to admit it but the signs are there. One of my babies are also part of the LGBTQ+ community. She is 14 now and she knew early on what she did and didn't like. But she was never afraid to be who she is. She never had to officially come out. She just came home one day and introduced me to her girlfriend. Never once worried about not being accepted. My youngest son used to play dress up with her and he loved getting his makeup and nails done. He doesn't do it anymore now that he's older. But I never made him feel that he was doing something wrong. I let my kids be who they are and express themselves openly. I've taught them they should never have to feel ashamed or hid who they are. And that's the hope I have for our world. Is that there will be a day where people don't have to come out. That they can just be who they are and accepted without having to go the extra mile.
Somehow rewatching /that/ scene for the 120378th time while blurred out was even worse... In's cry at 5:56.... I got goosebumps just hearing it. Cooheart did amazing in this scene.
Ahhh my most rewatched BL. Like Ive watched it over 30 times, not even exaggerating. It will forever stay somewhere in my top 3 bls. You will either love it and it has a massive impact on you or U will find it boring. Like it's either in the top bls or at the bottom for some ppl from how slow paced and emotional it is. Some ppl find the emotional aspect of this series + the main couple boring and annoying which I have to admit, upsets me a whole lot and makes me want to fight them but sigh. I hope it's one that u will enjoy
