Why do you think that? I see possibilities of wins against the Cards, Pats, Hawks/9ers, and 2-3 against their division, and they get 10+ wins. That should be good for the playoffs. They could lose more than I think they might, but until they have lost I don’t think I should expect them too. The season is only 1/3 over. Not in must win yet.

I think maybe what you or others are seeing is that if they can’t get it done against WAS, why should we expect them to win the tougher games, which they’ll need to win a few of.

Bears have played 2 top ten defenses: Texans and Titans. Commanders have played bottom third of NFL ranked defenses. Bears defense is elite, has been since week 8 of last year. Have held 12 straight teams to 21 or less points, an NFL record. Bears gonna destroy your Cummanders.

The bears have played the sorriest defenses in the NFL to. They play LA, Car, Jax. Lost to the Colts & should had lost to the bum ass Titians if it wasn’t for their dumb QB. Caleb looked like trash in that game & against the Texans. Only played good against the 30th 31st & 32rd ranked defense. They haven’t beaten a team yet that has one more then one game. You’re right. This is definitely a must win for the Bears. Ofc I care about the “rivalry” and all the narratives that’d go with beating JD5, but at the end of the day I’d like to win with a chance to go 7-2 before facing GB. If we accomplish that all we’d have to do is go .500 to end up going 11-6 with a great chance of making the playoffs

On the Caleb/Daniels discourse. Its always been (even the last 3 weeks), Jayden is good -> Caleb is bad... the first QB was the wrong QB selected narrative. In regards to this narrative, instead of 1 being better than the other, this week means a lot in debunking the "Caleb is bad/Wrong pick". Turns it more into.... both are good we have quiet the rivalry ahead of us. Let's sit back and watch greatness.
It's amazing that these guys get paid so much money to be on TV taking about NFL games, yet they're only able to go surface deep in their competitive analysis about one of the most team-dependent games on the planet. QBs *can* singlehandedly cause loses with absolutely terrible play (see Will Levis for some examples), but they MUST involve the rest of their offense to help get a win. The defense must also provide some assistance, at the very least, but can also ensure a victory when the QB isn't playing above par (see early 2024 Bears games for some examples). The vast majority of wins come from team effort on both sides of the ball because it's a true team sport. Unfortunately, that's not the kind of "hot take" that earns viewers, so it's not what the executives running these companies want their analysts to talk about.

I'm just happy Caleb is finally fixing our QB issue. I don't care who roty is. Beyond a W or L, this game means nothing else. If Caleb wins or Jayden wins, it's not proof who is better. These guys will be playing (hopefully) for a long, long time. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.

For all the nonsensical talk about "the Bears haven't beaten anyone good", who has Washington beaten? I can see if the Bears struggled against the bad teams, then that argument can be made. But they dominated those teams and Caleb Williams carved up those defenses. Washington hasn't played against a defense like Chicago. Baltimore is close, but the Bears defense is better. I hope Daniels plays so they can shut these fools up. Besides, Daniels isn't running a complex pro offense like Caleb is. He's running a simplified and cut down version of an NFL offense, while Williams has the whole playbook to run. Daniels is balling out, but at the end of the day, Caleb Williams is and will be the better QB hands down. ROY means nothing. Caleb was brought in to win games, not awards.

Nobody got it correct. It is a possibility that Caleb outplays Jayden and the Commanders still win. They are literally 5-2. On the otherhand, there is no world where Caleb has a ROTY performance if they lose to Marcus Mariota. The opposite (Bears beat either Jayden or Mariota, and Caleb still doesn't lead in the ROTY race) can also be true. Analysts today do a very poor job of seeing the big picture.
Ok J, I respectfully disagree about whether or not Daniels plays. This is a must-win regardless because the whole point, rookie or 10yr vet not withstanding, is winning! The players (and I'm sure Caleb would tell you the same) want a championship and winning now helps in the goal to get into the post season -especially with the schedule degree of difficulty on the back end. ROY or any other awards would pale in comparison! Based on the strength of the division, pretty much every game going forward should be treated as a playoff game.
Caleb is in the top 10 worst QB starters in the league. Jaden is top four best QB in the league in the ratings right now. It’s not even close for of the year.

These are idiotic takes. Caleb doesn’t play against Jayden or Mariotta. Only the defenses can stop either quarterback. If Caleb outplays Jayden or Mariotta statically but loses what does that mean? It was never a fair comparison to begin with because Jayden has to best that Bears defense. That is a much taller task than Caleb beating up on Washington.
I would say must win for bears because their schedule is tougher at the end. Both teams have the majority of divisional games at the end of the season but nfc east as a whole are weeker. Bears have packers twice, lions twice and vikings twice. Commanders have giants once, then eagles and dallas twice wich are subpar to the north.
Bears need to win because they need to stack wins against weak/ middling teams before their schedule ramps up. More importantly, having a tie-breaker against the Commanders in the wildcard standings would be nice. The OROY award is going to go to the QB on the team with the better record at the end of the year.

The commanders run the most no huddles which is extremely high level. And Caleb Williams and the bears lead the league in no read plays (screen passes). So what you’re saying is not true.
