Nick has to pick a lane in terms of how he's going to characterize Josh Allen. Players and teams who are Super Bowl or bust are typically some of the best in the league. Therefore, Josh and Buffalo would only be that if they are top tier like that. I'm good with that, but if that's the case, why all the bashing as if he's NOT that ? Furthermore, if he's not that, wouldn't it almost weirdly be an indictment of Mahomes that he's had to STRUGGLE to beat Josh in the last 2 playoff meetings ? Why is that 42-36 OT game so legendary ? Is it because Allen is just some overrated choker who was never that great according to Nick ? No. It's because what we thought & still might think are the arguably 2 best quarterbacks in the game got into a historic shootout. He needs to be careful on how he talks about all these guys because when it comes down to the end for Pat and we evaluate his leagcy compared to Tom's, if we're supposed to believe what he says in that Pat is beating a league full of overrated people and chokers basically lmao, how are we supposed to then put you over Tom, who had to go through guys like Peyton Manning, Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and guys like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and the Seattle LOB on the other side of the ball ? That's my rant lol he's just so all over the place with his arguments and lacking self-awareness too
💯% agree!.. Nick Wright is also the BIGGEST Lions hater!.. he even passes Florio imo.. At least Florio tries to give the Lions credit every once in awhile
That’s so accurate! Because also he had the cowboys last season not SBOB. But he has the Bills? It doesn’t really make sense to me. They also seem to be changing the definition team to team. About blowing the team up if they lose. Which we know isn’t accurate because if the chiefs lose they aren’t blowing the team up.
Lifelong Lions fan here and I absolutely DO NOT think we're sbob. We squandered a golden opportunity last year but also over performed to a degree. The front office keeps making moves for the future and has not made any go for it this year type of deals... Our mid-round picks are total projects with great upside potential. They are drafting Lions players first and foremost that fit the culture which is how great teams are run. There are so many variables going forward but this is the most excited I've been in my life and we are built to compete for years to come.
They are most certainly sbob. They were 30 minutes away last year. They've upgraded the roster significantly on the defense and the 2 stud rookies on offense will be even bigger contributors this year. They're now amongst the elite organizations in the league. When you're in that category it's sbob every year
@@joshlewis575 when I hear sbob it makes me think this is a make or break year - which is totally not true!! In Brad we trust and he ALWAYS values long term potential over short term returns... If we don't win this year ok we tried but we are set up for the next 3-5 years
SBOB is more about would the fans, front office, players, etc all feel that this season was a true disappointment/failure if they don’t win. The Chiefs are SBOB this season and it’s certainly not make or break.
@@JWLSports despite a rabid fan base you cannot go from one conference championship game to sbob in the span of a year... Expectations - absolutely!! But if we/they got back there again it's not a failed season by any means.
@@JWLSports to many question marks on the defense we don't even know if our secondary will be good that is the only thing holding us back an terrion will struggle as a rookie unless he's a sauce Gardner type player which is possible but we are not sure an hutch still needs help I don't think davenport Betts or anyone else on the team is the answer but I hope I'm wrong
I personally feel SBOB means two different things.... Lions are Superbowl or it's a disappointment... But like the cowboys should be Superbowl or bust as in tear it down. So the main difference is the question of what bust means to you is it a failed season or is it calling for jobs or tearing it down
The biggest shocker was him saying that the Cowboys are still America's team.. like, .. how??! According to who and what is that based on?😅 Like WTF??! the Lions are more "America's Team" than the Cowboys..
@@Joes35 what??! The Cow🐄- Girls are nothing more than an extended SNL skit come to life..😂 the Lions became America's team the end of the 2022 season.. they are awesome and likable.. NO ONE likes the 🐮 -Girls outside of their fans.. Them and the Maple Leafs are a mirroring joke of each other.. both are mockery of success.. no one TRULY respects them and NO ONE CLAIMS THEM or stick up for them.. the fact you're defending is nothing more than comedy gold at its best!🤣
I agree. But the Lions do have a massive fan base as well. But the cowboys do have the biggest fan base. And once you got that, it's pretty hard to lose unless some crazy massive scandal.
Agree with Brous list but I’d add Bills and Lions to the list Any single game can be close. What separates the Lions and Niners last year was consistency on a week to week basis.
Nick doesn't know a damn thing about football. Last season he said the Lions wouldn't beat the Chiefs and yet they did. He counted the Lions out all season. He is the worst analyst in football.
I would say, no, the Lions are not an SBOB. They just extended Goff for several more years. The team is still on the young side. I don’t expect then to be better than the 49ers or Rams this coming season. If they really play well and get to the NFC Championship again, but lose by a few points, I might label them as SBOB for the ‘25 season.
Their roster is definitely better than the rams, and arguably just as good as the 9ers. They should've been the 1 seed last year if not for Dallas. They will get it this year. They're a team on a mission after how last year ended
Reality Check.....the Lions have made 2 championship games in the entire Superbowl Era.....if they go on to make 2 in 2 consecutive years, after the dust settles, that has to be considered a success. I am a lifelong fan....l'm also realistic.
Did you just say the bengals are inferior to the Chiefs? Burrow and the bengals….. burrow and his 3-1 vs kc an 2-0 vs bills. I doubt one injury is gonna change that. He may not of won the big game but he beats those two pretty often.
