Y’all will love this video. We’ve already seen it 😲. Do what we did and support the Dork on Patreon with a simple $5 a month donation and you too get an early look at his videos. We HAD a 45’ Raptor Toyhauler I carried my bike in when we were full-timing. Don’t think it would follow you 😆 Great video
Mr Dork, clicked on your video early this morning with coffee in hand and a depressed mood from current world events. Intro music brightened my mood immediately and the video righted things mentally. Your doing things right. Curious about cot you showed.
So jealous. I live in se Michigan and all the public off road land here is off limits to motor vehicles. I have to go about 150 miles to find public rideable land.
I f***in loved this video!! That trailer has me green with envy. After watching this I’ve realized that I have not ridden nor camped near enough this year…..again ☹️ Thinking I should sell all my tools, empty my trailer, quite my career, and hit the road with my bike/trailer in tow. Plus, that Ryan can ride, eh?!
Those cargo trailers area sweet for what you are doing. Keep it simple like you have it. You can still use it to move, dump runs. I want one. I would keep my drz in it to free up the garage space.
Nice video. Like the riding shots. The desert riding is so different from the East Coast. I converted to a van a while ago. Its my daily driver. I love it. So great for hauling bikes and camping out of.
Legit perfectly accurate to my dream trip haul bike with my own custom hauling set up camp grill and ride my heart out like a beast i dont like to brag but tho ive never rode enduro im a monster on quad so when i get a bike and bit of experience under my belt no doubt i will be a savage rider
Really like what you’re doing with your trailer; that’s the right size to be handy and something you can use over and over. I have one that I’d like to do the same with only it’s an 8’ x 20’ enclosed (car hauler basically) It would be great to set up like you have but it’s just too big to take to too many places. I think you’re going to get a ton of fun use out of your set up and you’ll just keep pushing its evolution until it becomes everything you need it to be! Stay safe! Keep up the good work!
man that 2 stroke makes me miss my kx250 that I setup for trails, then traded it for a DRZ400s, which ended up selling. When my son get old enough to come ride trails I'll have to get a 2 stroke again. nothing else like it
I like the setup! I load my bike on the drivers side. Makes it easier in and out of the man door. I off set the weight by loading my large cooler on the opposite side closer to the axle...Very nice camping set up
You probably know this but just a little insulation on the ceiling will help a bunch on a sunny day. I have a similar setup but I need those e tracks. I once talked the wife into a 4 day camp at the lake in it. I had ac and a tv rigged up but she said never again.
Nice job in trailer living. If you want to have removable wheel chocks you can lol. I had a 6x10x6 trailer that I carried 3 bikes and a quad. Once they were out I set up sleeping and cooking inside for those windy days. I got me some cotter pin style pins. Like the ones that they have on racing hoods. I got mine from place at Las Vegas speedway. Not sure if they're still there but I think you can find them at Summit racing or other places similar. This way your wheel chock won't be in your way.
Maiden voyage, "Put them in the Iron Maiden!" You might want a rug for the entrance of the trailer so you can keep debris off your shoes outside so you don't have to sweep out the trailer.
There are 2 rails along the inside of the van. About 100 inches long and 72 inches of width between them. The bed is a queen size folding mattress made up of 4 segments, 72x20 inches each. The beds stack when driving with bikes and laid out when the bikes are gone. We sleep lengthwise most of the time(72x80 long)but at 5’9 I can sleep sideways in the van using 3 panels(72 longx60 wide) when bikes are still in the van. My van is the 3500 extended 159 Promaster.
Mr. Dork, I know you don’t have the Crf250l anymore, but I’m curious if you can share your experience with that bike off road. Did you ever do much single track? If so how did you feel it performed?
UGH, so jealous. You open your videos with how you want to be my internet riding buddy", but I just want to be your actual riding buddy. What part of Oregon are you in? I'm like....8 ish hours away, I'm near Sacramento!
Great video! Did you do anything to have a bit of ventilation while sleeping in the trailer? I am always worried about that in a weatherproof container, especially because carbon dioxide is heavier than air, so it might not readily vent out the top vent of the trailer.
It's a dirt bike, It's a dual sport, and It's Reliable. The 501 never feels overwhelming at any point in the trail and I'm only 5'9 and 150. It can also do 70 down the highway easily. This 2021 is the best version yet.
Few things. Words is hard all time :) That riding was giving me conniptions...I encountered some dirt the other day and turned around because my confidence is way low on the bike right now. Did you find that you enjoyed the trailer similar to your regular camping experience or is it not comparable because of the differences? Cheers to many more campouts sir!
