Well we finally got to cut some opal even if it is just a test. Boulder opal from Queensland Australia. We are using diamond plated cut-off wheels and a Foredom flex-shaft rotary tool. This may be a bit different compared to a corded rotary tool or dremel because this has a bit more torque. Test was a success we learned a few things along the way.
