i cannot say i recall where my first dab was but I remember getting so high and laying on the grass in the sun, feeling like i was sinking into it and it was amazing

First time I took a dab was with my cousins. They had dabbed a lot before but I had only heard of it. I get offered a dab, and my cousin scoops me a fat ass dab, but I didn't no I was comparing it size of bowls. They ask if that's good, and I obviously say yes. They used a real torch and had me wait to take it, I pulled the whole thing and went straight to the shadow realm. coughing for minutes, and I tried to swear I wasn't that high, and even went back for a 2nd dab. I felt movie high sitting there struggling to just exist and breathe 😂

I'm old enough that my first "dab" was called a "bead". It was thin and black, tasted like butane, and made me cough my lungs up. We used to use a hot plate with a quarter on it, then we used a safety pin as the tool, and we used a rubber hose with a metal tip to inhale. This was in the Bay Area in the early 2000s.

The ironic part is that "free basing" is the part they do before they vaporize the drugs, in the preparation phase. Most people have done the "freeing the base" chemistry reaction, if you've ever used an ammonia smelling salt. The way those work is that it's ammonium salt plus a separate stronger base, like a little bit of sodium hydroxide. The stronger base liberates or "frees" the weaker base, and ammonia gas is created and that's what people inhale and it helps wake them up if they fainted. The reason why people "free base" is that cocaine hcl, the kind that one can snort or dissolve in water and inject, has too high of a melting point, so it just incinerates instead of actually being absorbed into the body like intended if one tries to vaporize it. The only way that the base can be used is by vaporizing it, and it's not soluble in water. The salt version, the hcl, is soluble in water and that's the kind that people snort. I really loved that film, "Blow", back in the day. I remember seeing it in the theater with my dad. My dad was a retired pharmacist, so he knew sooooo much about that stuff. It was really neat to talk to him about that. He just passed away this last summer in July. I really miss him. I read the book that the film was based on too, because I liked it so much. They explained a lot of the chemistry and stuff in the book. Sorry for the rant. This past summer was really hard because I had met this woman last year and fell in love, and started seeing her all the time in July. Her grandma got put on hospice in July, and I took her to say goodbye. I was there when she found out that her grandma died, and I held her while she cried. The next week, my dad died. She was really there for me and we went to the funerals together and met each other's families and friends and were going to get married. Then she disappeared two weeks later, I got fired from my job of almost five years because my performance declined since my dad died, and then I found out that the gf had ran off with this other guy she told me not to worry about. Her birthday was yesterday and I'm really dreading tomorrow (valentines day). Thank God I have my medical marijuana card, because I definitely wouldn't still be clean from hard drugs. I came really close to relapsing this past summer, but I still haven't shot up since December 17, 2018. I'll never forget that time, because I overdosed and probably came close to dying. It was intense. I really like the videos!

My first dab was... Shiiiiit I'd say I was about 20 at the time, I was staying with a girlfriend and her family for a while, the neighbor smoked and also sold weed, real stand up guy lol anyway, I asked him one day if he had a gram of flower for the 10, he said he was fresh out but had a dab pen I could hit, told me to take it to my back yard and come back in 15 minutes after I'm satisfied. Came back, I coughed a f*** ton but I didn't feel it right away, but I hit it a lot which was a mistake. I went back to the back yard with my drawing book and started drawing what was one of the most intricate pot leaves I'd ever drawn, like any young stoner does, for what I thought was just 30 maybe 45 minutes. My girlfriend found me outside 3 hours later still drawing the pot leaf. I was finished, asked her to put it on the fridge, grabbed a hot pocket, a Pepsi, went upstairs, ate half the hot pocket and proceeded to pass out. Good times lol

My friend brought this big rig and is like "you're gonna puke". Me and this guy smoked flower together and had insane tolerances, but I hadn't seen him in a few months and he had been dabbing the whole time. He gave me a huge one looking back with my current knowledge. I didn't puke and I cleared it but like we would talk and there were legit like 10 second pauses between responses. Its still the highest I've been outside edibles.

Anyone else remember having a knifer kit? The blow torch part of the story reminded me of the first time doing knifers. So many butter knives gone to waste probably not smart to smoke using metal knives but we were kids which just reminds me of the early days of using pop or beer cans. Man we've come a long way 😆

"I'll tell you wut…" Damn I love these stories from the early days of dabbing. I remember going into a dispensary and paying embarrassing (cough, cough $70) for grams of what could turn out to be weird sappy goo. Or maybe shatter. But usually something in between. It was all packed in silicone paper bindles. And the bangers. Ha!

I remember my first and only dab got me SUPER baked. At the time I was using carts almost exclusively and my friend said that he had some dabs and asked if I wanted to smoke it. I said HELL YEAH. We went back to his friends garage and he set everything up. I had always heard that dabs were super harsh and I expected to be like the carts, but when I hit it, it was the smoothest hit I had ever taken. I swear I never took a smoother hit than that dab. I think he gave me like .4 of a gram and I inhaled the whole thing. Felt high as shit seconds afterwards and felt like I was no longer on the same planet. Idk how I drove home that night but it was one of the best highs.

My first dab was one day when I went by my guy's place to pickup some buds during lunchbreak from work. Usually we would take a few bong hits then I would be on my way maybe 10-15 minutes max. One day he has out this crazy dab rig with a giant torch and says you gotta try this stuff its next level. I was pretty skeptical and scared away by the blow torch but decided to give it a try after some convincing. Dude gets the nail glowing bright red with the torch then drops the shatter in and I took a huge rip and coughed for like 5 mins like I've never coughed before. I sat with the dude watching tv for like an hour before I felt like I could stand up and drive myself out of there. I definitely didn't wait long enough and had an adventure on my way back to work. This was like15 years ago...

6 years ago ordered a gram of shatter from Amsterdam to here in Dublin. Had no rig. Used to put it on and in joints. The high used to be so tired and hungry. Bought a cheap rig set and a cheap torch. Didn’t know how to do it properly and burnt so much of the shatter. Barely got any hits off it at all and gave up on dabs for another 4 years. But anyway, those first few joints with the shatter were madness, heavy heavy smoke.

My first dab was 8 years ago and I have been dabbing since. This guy I was dating had some beautiful white widow and he made it into concentrate. Me, thinking this is fine I smoke everyday, I got this. WRONG! I coughed so hard I peed on myself, lost my breath and saw freaking stars! I literally saw stars. About 15 minutes later I felt uhhhhhhmazing. It was a fun experience.

This had me dying when you're like "I don't know how to tell my boy I don't want to shoot up weed with him!" 😂 good shit man haha. First time I dabbed I did a huge one thinking it would be like regular mid grade hash and then I dry heaved and sat in silence with my friend for what felt like hours. Didn't dab for about ten years and then got back into them about 2 years ago and they saved my life. Helped me quit hard drugs and alcohol. Great story! 💜

Broooo the amount of nostalgia this brings back is insane. I’m only in my early 20’s but I started smoking when I was 14/15 and I’ll always remember the first dab sesh. With the weird glass nail (that loved to explode) and weird dome and the propane Coleman torch just like Cewp is sayin in the video. This was also before we found out holding hits wasn’t any good an that made it even more memorable as I’ll explain, my brother stood up an hit his dab while the brand new iRie rig sat on the desk and he held it in so long he passed the fuck out and fell to the floor in the corner of the room, and when he hit the floor he knocked my snowboard down that was leaning against the wall, causing it to hit him right on top of the head. When he came to he asked “was there an earthquake” cuz he likely had a small seizure. Myself and the friends we were with said no, and without hesitation my brother pipes up and asks, “are you sure?” To which we replied “yes we’re sure” and all he had to say after that was “don’t tell mom I passed out.” I will truly never forget that experience

My first time dabbing. I went to Denver Co. 4-20-2012. I'm from Nebraska. Immediately all these people were asking of I brought any Schwag. My friend I was visiting said "it's like drinking champagne all the time. Sometimes you want a cheap beer " My friend Smokey who I traveled with. My first dab was at a saint patty's day party, where they gave me a red hot .5g dab. I couldnt breath and had to walk home from the party. i remember feeling the sun and how warm and nice it was. i laidon the grass for about 10 mins when i called by buddy to pick me up. At the time i wasn't even a seasoned smoker only smoking joints on the weekends. Then when i finally made it home i fell asleep standing up with my head on the raised bed. I dont think ill ever be that high again.

Maybe not a dab but my 1st concentrate was hash oil heated on aluminum foil. This is 1978ish when 3 of us bought 2 ounces of hash and cooked up oil. This investment lasted us most of the summer. Great times.

My first dab was in 2012 my freshman year of college. I’d been smoking flower forever but lived in a small town in Texas during high school with no access to concentrates. It was some really dark crappy shatter with a glass dome and nail, before everyone switched to titanium and ceramic domeless nails.

My first dab will be the tiniest amount with a cold start. lol

I had done knife hits with hash and high grade flower as far back as mid 90s, but my first true dab was similar: too hot, and too big. Coughing so hard I had to run outside for fresh air and put my arms over my head to try to stretch my chest out to get more fresh air than could fit.

No lie, my first dab was made from Reggie using the butane glass tube extraction method and im pretty sure the dab had a lot of butane due to them not doing thr whole process of the extraction. They never let it sit in the sun to evaporate the butane but I definitely was stuck to the couch to the entire day

Luckily I had heard about it enough and seen enough videos for me to not freak out when the opportunity presented itself to me. But my god I would be lying if I said I wasn't locked on to the couch for a good hour trying to hold myself together while trying to process how this level of high is even achievable by man.

My first dab was at a BBQ at a friends house like 6 years ago. It was super hot and a giant glob. I coughed so hard I thought I was going to die, but after like 10-15 I pulled myself together and was the highest I have ever been on weed. For the longest time I just thought that was how you did dabs so I stuck to flower. Now that I'm a bit wiser I stick to cold start dabs but still screw up and get it too hot sometimes.

There was a guy who used to have a decent following on RU-vid who actually spent a weekend in jail over a concentrate syringe back when they were new. He was in Colorado and everything and the cops just wouldn't listen when he said it was weed.

Still never dabbed but seriously curious about it. Though the power of that dab reminds me of the first time I made weed tea. Put two tablespoons of decarbed flower in a cup with a tablespoon of Egyptian chamomile tea. Went to bed nicely buzzed then woke up couldn’t walk or think straight for the rest of the day. 20 Hr constant, extreme, body buzz of a high. It was terrifying. Oh forgot to mention didn’t have a tea bag or strainer to make the tea so ended up eating a fair bit of the rehydrated herbs

Dont be hating on the propane torches they last a long time 😂. And this story reminded me exactly of my 1st dab about 11 years ago or so at this point. The dabs we got back then were commonly black or brown. And the 1st time seeing a green dab blew my mind lol. Im lucky i didnt have to see the syringe, because my buddy had a slick and a tool

Never smoked a "dab" but my first instance close to a dab was a buddy brought a blow torch, two knifes and a half cut water bottle. Heat the knives molten red and drop a piece of hash on the knife and compress. Put the bottle above and inhale. First and only time I've puked from smoking and highest I've ever been.

This reminds me of when my friends and I first discovered wax in 2015. We colloquially used to call our dealers shatter "poop soup" because of its dark brown/yellow color. But man did we feel like kings.

My first dab was in a vape pen, maybe 2013 ot 2014. I'd never seen wax before, nor used an electronic device to consume weed. I was fascinated by the prospect of trying something new and it didn't disappoint. The taste was phenomenal and I was definitely as lit as if I'd taken a full bowl bong rip. After that, I occasionally took a hurry hit off a friend's rig w a titanium nail. Those dabs were pretty warm and got me stupid high. I still prefer flower or edibles at the moment, though maybe down the road I'll transition to concentrates for personal use, we'll see.

My first time was pretty much just like this, except I lived on a boat at the time (about six years ago). I remember the dabs were so dark, and sometimes terrible. One of my early dab sheshes the cap stuck to the banger I pulled it off to take a hit -- and then it fell, hit my calf and slightly burned it, and landed on a rug over top of my carpet. But the banger melted right into the rug, super hot stuff as you know. The skin on my calf was ok. The whole time I was coughing while holding the top of the rig too - for the next hit, crazy stupid high.

My cousin Ryan hit me up the day or two before my birthday about 2 years ago and asked if I wanted to come over and smoke. I never smoked before and wasn't against it but wasn't interested in it whatsoever also. I looked up some information about it and the pros and cons and stuff and decided what do I have to lose. I've been dealing with a brutal nerve condition since I was 13 and now I'm 34. Let's just say the condition hasn't gotten better... I decide to try and see if it may help with my pain. I decide to go ahead and give it a shot. I head over there and the guy he buys weed from is running late. He was hoping to get it in before I got there and he said if I didn't want to wait I can try a dab and he brings this small piece out and I'm looking at it thinking "A what?" He shows me how to do it by doing one before me and then helps me rip it. I do a hot start dab of who knows what size and I hit the whole thing and I cough my ass off for like 2 minutes. I'm light headed from coughing but I don't notice anything. I'm plus sized at the time and have poor circulation so I think had something to do with it. I don't end up feeling anything right then so hit has me do another... and another... 5 dabs in his friend comes over and I'm there and has some weed of his own and they let me try that as well. So at this point it's been about 20~25 minutes and then I start to feel everything coming at me in waves of intensity till I literally was paralyzed for about 2 and a half hours on my cousins couch. The whole time I was there I was just terrified I'd have to use the bathroom and could tell anyone or get up myself to do anything. I've not done that much at once since then and likely won't again.

my first dab experience was worse, when I took my first dab it was a sativa strain, and my friend gave me way too much, so I ended up having a seizure which I think was caused by the fact that it was a Sativa strain. But that would make since because Indica strains are said to help with seizures and Sativa's are the exact opposite of Indica's.. but now I dab everyday..

the first time did nothing, i blame that on my tolerance at the time, then after a short break, i did it again, and it fucked me up. I coughed up a lung and was tearing up, but then i watched Bluey and the colors came alive.

Your first dab experience reminds me of my first shroom experience, at college back in 2003. I had bought an oz and I was with my roommate and gf, and the only thing we knew was that we were supposed to eat them. The three of us started by eating 2 caps and stems, then 20 minutes later we were looking at each other like, "Nothing is happening", so my roommate and I ate 3 more and my gf ate another one. A half hour later it got kind of quiet and someone asked what time it was - and when I said, "What is time?", and had no idea how to define what time is, I realized the ride had begun. Long story short, shrooms take awhile to kick in so don't eat too much or you will be in for one helluva (mostly bad) ride.

The first time I took a dab I was with 4 other friends on 4/20. One of em he always has weed around and so we went to his place and into the garage. He had his piece on the table with a tv playing Family Guy. Imma just say he probably needed to clean a little. Lol Anyways we were there he took a dab and it was my turn and I just held it and he did everything. I've heard of it and kinda familiar to what it was. I was just kinda amazed by it. I put a pretty good amount of it hit and I was amazed I wasn't hacking up my lungs though my throat was burning a little. It was then everyone else's turn. While I was sitting there I was fixated on my friends desk drawer. Lol The lock was above the handle and it make me think of a cyclops and I just was laughing quietly while opening and closing the drawer, I dont think anyone noticed me actung like a crack-head cuz nobody Saud anything. Then either he asked me if I wanted another or I asked, either way I got another hit now my throat was like a hot pizza oven. I coughed once. I decided to use some of the flower I bought from the guy who is supplying our 4/20 party so he brought his bong, hit that, then I just zoned out 2 guys left and I was sitting there watching the other 2 play darts. Lol Then I realized it was probably time to go so I called my parents actually to pick me up. Lol I couldn't barely walk and I didnt know my way out of that neighborhood so yeah. I remember everything felt like deja-vu or like it looked similar or that it just fit together, that feeling. Just looking at everyone and how everyone was sitting, for awhile when I was smoking and out I would get that feeling. I haven't felt that in a long while, has anyone felt that?

My first dab was perfect. My wife (at the time gf) and I were in Tally emptying out her apartment and her best friend’s bf gave me the most perfectly sized and temped dab. I remember him cracking up cause I was like “bro my bones feel crazy.” He went on to be one of my groomsmen 😂

He’s so right and it’s funny, the stuff we were dabbing in 2013 was garbage poop soup from hippies extracting garbage flower people probably wouldn’t buy, it’s not that good quality stuff wasn’t available it was, it was just so expensive and only certain people had good stuff like bubble hash and clean shatter back when gold shatter was actually considered a delicacy on the black market 😂 my first time dabbing was bubble hash and I got soooooo high, me and my buddy smoked thru the 2 grams I bought off his cousin within a week and we couldn’t get anything near that quality where we lived Edit: I still use my Coleman torch with a burnsomatic top and my dabs come out nice and low temp, something about it just feels right and nostalgic 💛❤️💚
