That was Adam "Chance" making the jaw harp sound and Adam Rupp (beatboxer/percussionist) making the harmonica sound or as we call it "nomonica". For Christmas, you absolutely need to hear their rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear" first. It was arranged by Adam Rupp and it's phenomenal. Thanks. 🍟

Don't sweat the headphones if you have a great sound system. Most say that because people are usually listening on computer or phone speakers and those don't catch everything.

I would just about bet you haven't heard the original. Richard Burnett had this in his songbook dated 1913 and he did sing it. The version that is very popular where I live (in far, far southwest Virginia where songs were gathered by the Carter Family to start what we know as 'Country Music' today - Ken Burn's documentary "Country Music" covers it well), and that most look to, was recorded by The Stanley Brothers (also from southwest Virginia) in 1950. That is the version/arraingment style that they used in the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" that Dan Tyminski and some of his fellow Nashville Bluegrass friends sang for the movie.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella groupI

They do an epic collab with Kenny Rogers, Children Go Where I Send Thee, which happens to be a Christmas song. I also recommend their recent release of Stand by Me and their covers of When a Man Loves a Woman and End of the Road.

Though published in 1913 by Dick Burnett (who did not compose it) this song is an old American Folk Song. It was old when published - he just put it to paper - which then enabled him to earn from its use. Prior to that it was learned "by ear" having originated in & around Kentucky, Tennessee and thereabouts.

Adam is the beatboxer and he’s extraordinarily good. Tim is the bass and he has a 5 octave range so he can sing low and very high. Chance was doing the “mouth harp” sounds. When live he will do it into a looper so it can be taped. He says it hurts his throat too much to do it too long. Austin (lead here) will also do the harmonica when live. All super talented men. This song is over 100 years old but was made popular in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou so that was a cover too. Good reaction! If you love the beatboxer try Do You Hear What I Hear…arranged by Adam and it’s great! 😍😄

Try Adam Rupp's "Drum Solo". The song is actually a lot older than the movie. It was first written down in 1913 but is much older. Dan Tyminski of the group Union Station sang George Clooney's parts in the movie, not George.

Great reaction! This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

Home free's latest Christmas song is Christmas in LA. It's a lot of fun to watch and a joy to listen to. A couple original seasonal songs are Full of Cheer, written by Tim Foust (bass) as an inadvertent follow up to his Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget, and Cold Hard Cash written by their high tenor Austin Brown. These four songs highlight the guys' humor while still being great tunes.

This song has a very long history, and I first learned it from Bob Dylan in the 60s. But it had been around for 50 years already. Later generations know it best from the Clooney movie version by the Soggy Bottom Boys. Home Free has put yet another spin on it, and made an incredible version that is all their own. Home Free is having a long history, too, being formed in 2001 by the Rupp brothers, Chris and Adam. The group just gets better and better!

@Indigo_moon 8 месяцев назад
Just so you know, Home Free has been independant for over 4 years now. So anything from their "Dive Bar Saints" album and after should be safe from copyright issues. Also, I think people suggesting headphones don't realize that you have a good sound system. Which is not usual the case for reactors. The reason they say that is because without either your can't hear Tim's subharmonics or get the full effect of his regular low bass notes. Also, they do all those sound effects live in their concerts. So it's not like they alter the sound of it to make it sound more like the real intrument. I'm sure they enhance it some, (like everything else) but not enough to notice a difference when they sing it live.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole 🐇 🕳️ Home Free breakdown Official version - or How the guys introduce themselves Adam Rupp - beatboxer (from Minnesota) Chris Rupp - baritone (from Minnesota)(left Home Free in 2016) Rob Lundquist - tenor (from Minnesota) Austin Brown - high tenor (from Georgia) Adam Chance - baritone (from Alabama)(replaced Chris) Tim Foust - bass (from Texas) Realistic version Beatboxers - 5 (including 1 freak of nature) Tenors - 5 Baritones - at least 3 (pretty sure they can all get into baritone range, though…) Basses - at least 2 (and that’s without counting Adam… I mean, have you heard those bass notes he hits while beatboxing?) The Guys Adam Rupp: beatboxer extraordinaire, tenor/high tenor (mostly harmonies), co-founder, lovingly called The Freak of Nature. Fans are still debating whether or not he is in fact human or alien. Rumour has it he swallowed a drum kit as a child Chris Rupp: baritone(bass at live performances when Tim sang lead), co-founder, musical director and main arranger aka ChrisTheHatGuy, left the group in spring of 2016 to do other projects Rob Lundquist: lead tenor, whistler, opera singer and rapper, also known as Gospel Rob or The Beard Austin Brown: high tenor, also does a mean No-monica and other instrumental sounds, aka The Home Free Heartthrob Adam Chance: (or just Chance, not to get the 2 Adams confused): baritone/bass, throat singing, various instrumental sounds (including the mouth/jaw harp in Man of Constant Sorrow and a pretty cool electric guitar), replaced Chris Rupp in 2016 Tim Foust: Legendary Super Bass, also sings baritone, tenor and high tenor whenever he feels like it, does a mean walking bass, can go so low he breaks sound systems and so high people think it’s Austin…
