*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

Finally some Porcupine Tree, one of the greatest prog metal/rock bands of all time. Wish I could give 1000 thumbs up.. Hope you cover more. Their melodic songs are second to none. Steve doesn't really scream much if at all if thats what you'd expect, he's more known for his melodic harmonies and lyrics while being the key writer for the band and guitarist as well. Anything from Signify onwards is fantastic prog rock with at least the last two (including this one) being concept albums. Another good band to go down the rabbit hole with like Tool. Id love to hear: Every home is wired Sentimental Dark Matter Blackest Eyes Mellotron Scratch Blind House Waiting Trains Sound of Muzak

@Dexy Chan I'm happy to hear it and I hope you like what you hear. These tracks are fantastic. 😁 let me know what you think. The chorus of Every home is wired is a perfect example of his singing and writing ability with the canon cascade of vocals.

Oh how this made my day to see this when I logged in. ❤️ It's definitely not a one off! I highly recommend Arriving Somewhere but not Here and Anesthetize for starters. 🤞🙏 I'm thrilled you enjoyed this band, so hopefully you'll keep reacting to them. 🎶

Great reaction. Steven Wilson is insanely prolific and can almost do no wrong. He's written or produced over 40 albums. Tons of great music to react to.

Definitely not a one off. All of Porcupine Tree's output is very high quality and their live stuff is usually better than the studio recordings. Steven Wilson, the driving force behind PT which is now defunct, is a prodigious musician who has collaborated with many other artists and is/was part of several other 'bands', e.g. Blackfield, No-Man. He's currently doing is own thing and continuing the high standards he set. This would be an excellent rabbit hole to go down.

ANESTHETIZE LIVE! :D (please? :)) Also, thank you for this reaction! :) I loved the "I only had to Google up one word." :D (as an non-english native it was even more hilarious) (Gavin Harrison is a great drummer btw..) Steven Wilson said (about this album) "...this kind of terminally bored kid, anywhere between 10 and 15 years old, who spends all his daylight hours in his bedroom with the curtains closed, playing on his PlayStation, listening to his iPod, texting his friends on his cell phone, looking at hardcore pornography on the Internet, downloading music, films, news, violence...

Oh yeah, man they have plenty more where this came from. And there are a lot of views to be had, people love watching minds blown by prog, and by Steven Wilson in particular. As you correctly recognised, this is one of their more accessible tracks. He has a lot of good solo work, and has worked with other bands quite prolifically. There is quite the network of rabbit holes to explore. Most recently I've been playing Luminol repeatedly (and learning the bass.) It would be a great song for you to react to.

Happy to see you looking into Porcupine Tree! I still appreciate the way you analyze the lyrics and the music. If you want to try a somber, dark, and frankly nihilistic song, look up Raider II, by Steven Wilson. Watch the live version, from the Get All You Deserve 2012 dvd.

Those of us that love PT will describe them as the best band you've never heard of. I would venture to say that everything live sounds better than the initial recordings, and seeing the performance will elevate this band above most. Personally, there is no better band. Hate Song, Mother and Child Divided, Time Flies, Don't Hate Me, Buying New Soul, Anesthesize, Harridan, Rats Return... If I put all my favorites down no one would have room left to comment... Just keep going to down the PT rabbit hole and fall into awe and bliss like the rest of us...

It's pretty good. Thoughtful and pertinent music. Decent melody. Worth a return imo. I kind of like having an experimental tract, but don't think it should replace a bread and butter rock/metal one for likes of AIC or RATM who you could go deeper in and has built-in base.

I think its perfectly worth a deep dive. Their catalog is diverse and being that they don't get near enough of the attention they deserve it would be a perfect choice for several visits and set you aside from other reactors while AiC and Rage have countless reactions. Spread the love.

@@floridabelle Tell me about it.. First Radiohead, then PT, now Failure. Ive lost faith in humanity. People only want easy simple mass produced pop songs that lack any depth whatsoever and are made simply to funnel money into record companies. While the dichotomy of the channel provides diversity for the subs in reality it just creates a divide in the channel.. youre either pop or metal.. some will traverse both sides but the vast majority will not. Pop fans will dominate the views while metal fans either wait in the minority or move on. I can see the difficulty Jersh has in juggling it.. On one hand you have a very loyal but small community in the rock category or you have pop which nets you thousands of views per video and more exposure. Im sure he'll always gravitate back to rock reactions but its still disappointing. Metal fans are stubborn. Oh well /rant

@@SOMA-no2gq You had a lot to say. You had a lot of 'something' to say. 🎶 😉 Yeah, but seriously, it can be frustrating, but I'll hang in there since he has so much to offer besides reactions, plus, as with us and the pop lovers, he's also discovering and enjoying music he may never have found. I sure don't envy what reactors do. It's gotta be very difficult to try to please us all. I just hope others that have similar musical taste to ours will find this channel and stick around.

@@floridabelle Me too.. i just kinda float around and give anything he reacts to at least a chance (as long as its not gaga or swift.. the forbidden two lol) Occasionally he'll surprise me with a great song and it will start my day off with a boom.
