I was married for 35 years and I used to watch this video every now and them to remind me that you can't get lazy with the one you love. If you love them, show it. There were fewer rockets in the launcher, but we still lit the fuse.
Anything less than a 10 is an insult to the greatest duo in the 20th century or ANY century. This song was the most played in the last century, over 8 million plays, and into this century, it has reached over 13 million and still climbing.
This is called blue-eyed soul. These guys were the best. Bobby Hatfield with his beautiful tenor voice & Bill Medley with his deeper voice. They were magic together. And remember this is done live. No auto-tuning crap like today. And the songs had meaningful beautiful lyrics.
Why we don't have good music now is because corporations bought the music makers, made what would sell... These men are LIVE, no autotune, so happy for you to hear this.
You're listening to the studio recording overdubbed on to this film clip. the original sound track from the live performance is available and you hear the audience, the girls screaming like hell hahahah. The Righteous Brothers [name of their act, not really brothers] were "Heart Throbs" at the same time of the Beatles in the mid 1960's. the short guy, Bobby Hatfield, died in 2003 from a heart attack at age 63 while on tour with his partner Bill Medley [low voice tall guy] in a hotel in Kalamazoo Michigan, just 50 minutes from my house! They were to perform onstage but never did. I was a music teacher and heard the news on the car radio on the way to work. i had to pull over and cry for a minute, I grew up on this music.
This was the biggest hit in the most-played song in the last hundred years remember no Auto tone remember live no Auto-Tune small microphones! They will live forever try Unchained Melody and soul and inspiration they invented blue-eyed soul
They have Brill Cream or VO5 in their hair. That's all there was. Most these creator's parents were concieved after these songs came out! I remember 1964!
You said it! Good music is timeless and needs to come back big time. This is called “blue eyed soul” by 2 of the greatest singers of the time which was the 60s.
The lyrics were written by composer Barry Mann's wife, Cynthia, which is perhaps why you, as a woman, relate to them. Watching younger people react to the songs of my youth is like re-discovering them. We probably didn't fully appreciate how good they were in those days because they were coming so thick & fast! The boys may have had a product called Brylcreem on their hair (very unfashionable, now!) You look pretty smart yourselves , very well turned out. Thanks for reaction.
Mens hair products (Caucasian hair) in the Sixties that I remember were: Vitalis; BrillCream (a little dab will do ya 🎼 🎶 🎵) A boy classmate in 6th grade had a lotion in his hair that smelled like candy and I loved it. It might have been vitalis. He wouldn’t tell me even though I was wild to know.
An 8 & a 9??? This was the most listened to song of the 20th century, rated by BMI, ahead of "Never My Love, "Yesterday" , and "Stand by Me". Their music played at every Jr./Sr. Prom across America!
This is how a guy used to sing to a young lady. Could I suggest that you try Heaven Can Wait, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad, or For Crying Out Loud You Know I love You, by Meat Loaf?
All of us from the generation younger who are loving music at this time( 50,60,70s) asking the same question: why we haven't this music anymore???!!! 😂😂👌 What happened to real voices, talent?
Who could resist? Loved your reactions! This is my first time sitting in with you, thank you for allowing me to do that! If I can find you again I'll sit in again!
Its very heartfelt music...you can feel the music...thats. how it makes me feel anyway! lol. There voices were so beautiful! No auto tune..just pure talent! Back then men used hair oil...it was the fashion..lol. If you haven't watched it already...checkout "Unchained Melody"! Its awesome!
10 if you ever heard it. Thus was a classic ! With Billions, yes Billions of views. Listen to more of them please. Never again will you hear music such as this. 🎵🔥 please watch just One of them sing Unchained Melody.
You got a subscription. I loved your heartfelt sharing about your life and your appreciation of the duo. Some other reactors give you a shine on but you really shared from your heart. A 9.5 for a first time hearing it is good. I am nearly 60 years old and love this song but even after a lifetime of hearing the song it touches my heart and brought a tear to my eyes.
Bill had just broken up with long time gf when they performed this and he was very emotional. They later married and had a son Darrin but later divorced and remained close to raise him. Karen was murdered by sexual predator who was only convicted after his death more than 20yrs later by familial DNA, a new technique. He had been imprisoned for other similar crimes. A long time for closure for Bill and Darrin.
Love your reactions, please react to Morresette Amon's "Akin Ka na Lang" on "The Wish Bus 107.5" you'll love her, she is the queen of the Philippines, unbelievable great voice.
So beautiful!! I hope you'll react to: Elvis Presley You've Lost That Lovin Feeling Live 1970 (4:13). Very different from this version but also amazing. And another great one: The Righteous Brothers "You'll Never Walk Alone" on The Ed Sullivan Show (2:26).
