Im Ridingfish,
I ride an @Indian Challenger white dark horse! I bought it at INDIAN MOTORCYCLE OF St. Paul. They are my home dealership, but as you find on my channel, I have worked with many different dealers around the USA.. Hey Fish! You cracked me up with your reactions to riding it. I was laughing through the whole video. When I did my test ride on the DCT in the mountains I couldn’t believe how fun it was. I also immediately thought it was like driving a super car. If I could afford more than one motorcycle I would definitely have one, but I wouldn’t trade my Pursuit for it. Still believe hands down it’s the best motorcycle made, at least for me.

I was wondering what this same gentleman would say about being on the Indian Pursuit 💃. Trying to decide which one to pull the trigger on : mostly for my passenger that finds being a Harley passenger uncomfortable,… >50 miles and game over. Thanks for your 2 cents

@@boths6ify I really think you can’t go wrong with the Pursuit. It has everything you would want in a sport touring bike. I add sport because this bike handles like a sport bike but also eats up the miles with ease. It is a complete joy to ride. You do have to get used to people wanting to talk to you about your bike. Constantly people are saying “wow what a beautiful bike, how do you like it?” It has so many great features, like the adjustable windshield, the great infotainment center and especially for your passenger, the fox air adjustable suspension. The when you ride alone, the touch on the screen and it’s the perfect suspension ride for you. As you can probably tell, I absolutely love this bike and I don’t know anyone who has it doesn’t feel the same. If you just test ride one, I think you’ll be sold. Good luck in your decision.

Goldwings have always been engineered to be the best tool a biker can have. Other bikes may have more personality , but the goldwing makes seeing the country the focus and not focusing on the bike. Which i can appreciate more and more the older i get.

So strong, so smooth, so comfortable, even with the OEM seat, yes for me it is. Sport Mode is a Porsche Panamera. Honestly, I don't even know what else I can ride, as of now. I am waiting to see what Honda will do with the 25 model, one day. For now, Honda rocks solid. 16K on her and I never saw a dealer even for one tiny problem. Honda nailed it good with the smart DCT.

The DCT is extremely versatile. I use tour manual mode for back country rides about 50 MPH in 7th gear turning a hair less than 1.700 RPM. The engine is so relaxed with so much torque you just waft along like a feather in the wind. The DCT will actually downshift to 6th when the speed drops to 40 MPH in imperceptible fashion. So all you need is your left index finger to shift back up on relaxed rides in the country. I usually hop on the interstate to get back home and then it's sport manual 7th gear for the entire way. Downshifting is completely optional and usually just a waste of time there is so much torque. Seventy five MPH is a chill 2,500 RPM and the bike has great wind protection and a comfortable ride always. It really is a remarkable machine.

I had an 05 since new and enjoyed it quite a lot. I found a lightly used 2018 with the manual, which I prefer. As you said its much better than people know. It reminds me of my 83 Yamaha Venture which was another big sport tourer. Fast, comfortable and handled very well. I had an FJR 1300 for 10 years and the GW is just a bigger FJR, more comfortable and almost as quick overall. These new Wings handle better than they should, you can flick it on a back road quite well. I've owned over 50 bikes and the 18 Wing is one of the better ones I've owned as compared to the BMW's Yamahas, Kawasakis and Harleys. Given my advancing age I suspect its my last big bike, but thats ok, it's a blast.

It's everything you'd expect a Honda to be. All that and I absolutely hated the bike. Honestly for me it's too good. It boring, it's got no quirks, it evokes no emotions and it has no personality or soul. I'd never own one because I'd never ride it. As far as a bagger I'd choose my Challenger every time. I feel like a DCT would be great in most cases, especially on long rides when passing vehicles, don't have to downshift manually, but I think doing slow speed maneuvering and u turns and all the drills would be a whole new learning curve. Because we mostly rely on the friction zone to control the bike, feel like controlling the throttle would be very choppy and would take a lot of fails and drops. But I never ridden a DCT, so I don't know.

Yo Fish, the USA manufacturer's could learn a lot from the new GW. Things like hill hold, a good forward and reverse creeper gear. I still have my Victory Vision and love it, but stopping on a 10% grade holding the brake, balancing, and all is a real pain in the ass. We make not one touring grade motorcycle in the USA that is as easy to run through the city as the interstate as the new GW's. For us older riders, as I am now approaching 69, could extend our large bagger abilities at least a decade. It is time for both Harley and Indian to start being leaders in this area.

If they did the Harley purists would complain and say "It's not a Harley". Harley had to build the PanAm to show the world that they could do tech too, not just Flintstone bikes.

I rode a gold wing dct back in 2018 when the new ones came out and really liked it. Great bike, but the riding position was very uncomfortable for me (I'm very tall) and the seat was HARD as well. (I hear it still is) The cargo space on the new GW is sorely lacking, especially compared to previous goldwings, and any other full touring bike. It's a superb machine to ride. Lacking in other areas. You really can't do much with it for comfort, either. It either works for you, or it just doesn't.

I had the same problem on my 2018 DCT Tour, so I swapped the seat for a Corbin, which sits me back 2” to fit my 6’5” self, more a sport touring stance. Also swapped windscreen for a Klok Werks Flare. Together, these make the bike fit me perfectly. Travel all day and feels great.

This bike is amazing. Too bad it's THE MOST expensice bike sold on my country and we have BMWs, Ducatis, Harleys and Triumphs here. But the Goldwing is almost twice the price of a S1000rr or Panigale, even the CVO is almost 30% cheaper.

So you liked it then? I bought a new Tour DCT in late 22. Sold it in July 23 for a chieftain darkhorse which is a fabulous motorcycle But now in 2024 im going back to a new Goldwing DCT again and that will be my final bike because quite simply it is the best there is. I made a mistake and its gonna cost me 20 grand but the Goldwing is calling again. Just wished it had a better GPS and Bluetooth Connectivity on Android. It could use a refresh there.

Right now, I am on a Victory Vision and have been looking at going to a Pursuit sometime this winter. I rode a Goldwing Tour DCT that was about identical to this bike, this last weekend, and now I'm second guessing. I think I may keep my Vision and grab up a 21+ Goldwing Tour. I'd have a Vision for the big V Twin and all the room, and then a Goldwing for when I want a sports car. I'd love to hear your thoughts about how it is side by side with your Indian.

Bonjour! After owning many sportbikes since i first got my license in 1985, i traded my 1999 'Busa and bought my first cruiser in 2007. It was a brand new Suzuki M109R. At the time i wanted a more relaxed riding position but i still wanted a bike with a strong, powerful engine. I was ready to switch to a fully dressed touring bike in 2021. I bought a Victory Vision and i am very pleased with it. However, i miss the power and speed of my previous bikes. A few weeks after i bought my Victory, my long time friend bought a brand new 2021 Gold Wing bagger with a manual transmission. This bike is a masterpiece of engineering. It's fast, comfortable, the sound of that flat 6 engine is amazing and it will definitely be my next purchase. Not as much wind protection as the Vision but i suppose aftermarket add-ons can fix that. Take one for a test ride, you will be hooked! Greetings from Montréal, Québec. 🖖

Hey Fish, Just got to this video. Pretty nice bike huh? We have an '18 Wing Tour DCT Airbag and love it to death! I recently took a short test ride on a '22 Indian Pursuit and while for a V-twin, it is VERY refined and has all the advancements and enhancements one could ever want, I would never trade our Wing for one. This '18 Wing is our 6th Wing in about 30+ years of riding. Anyway, I was wondering, may I ask what helmet and comm system you have? I am SO TIRED of wind noise in ours between the CEO and myself I'm ready to throw $600 worth of headsets right in the round file! Yours sound soooooo clear and without wind noise even at higher freeway speeds. Anyway, glad you liked the Wing. Scott
