They add some other spices, including chili, to make the broth even more fragrant and spicy, then thicken it with rice flower. You can also try Bubur Menado combine with cakalang saos and they sell some snacks too. In case you missed eating pork try pokenbir you should try the pork belly and their Indonesian big pork rice it’s comprised pork foods from Indonesia in 1 giant plate. Just my humble advice. If you want to explore Indonesia it would be better to do that when we have national holidays, such as Idul Fitri, Idul Adha, etc. Those time, especially on the first day, usually quiet everywhere. I mean, less crowded

Fyi: if you found a name of a city behind the dish name, it's usually delicacy from that place. So Sate Padang means it's from Padang. Some Padang restaurant also sell it. Just like Soto, we have Soto Kudus, Soto Banjar, Coto Makassar, Soto Betawi (Betawi - Batavia, see the wordplay?), Soto Padang, etc

Kota tua is the touristy area. And the busy streets where u bought kue pancong and sate padang is the local business district. Those area sell wholesale products/ trader and raw materials for running the business.
ASEMKA (under the bridge) is where I usually do wholesale goods, especially office stationery. It's a stressful place, but that's where the average merchant gathers... An exciting experience, Susan :)
IMO the best sate padang in kota tua is sate padang petak sembilan, located in pancoran glodok area, near asemka street. They open around 4 pm everyday.
The area is called Jalan Asemka, a business area where there is a lot of money circulating every day. All Jakartans will buy goods there to resell and especially garments will look for fabrics and sewing tools there too.

next destination go to bogor, you can go to taman safari, is the biggest zoo in here you know.. or you can chill in puncak, the weather is nice and you can go for paragliding there..but the traffic is really bad in there.. i really like your vlog, 1M subs lets go
