Was only the other day Emilia was born and now look at her!! a little lady getting her ears pierced! she was so excited!! it was so sad a few weeks ago when we tried to get this done!! we didn't update you about it because we felt so bad for her!! you dont always get it right as parents and Emilia being our first born she is the one who is teaching us and making us better parents! so thanks Emilia!

Short History of SACCONEJOLYs
In 2008 Anna was uploading beauty videos to youtube on her own channel and Jonathan was helping her behind the scenes.
In late 2009 Jonathan set up this channel because he wanted to do his own youtube videos. What started out as a week experiment to film his life everyday for 7 days in a row has now become SACCONEJOLYS
this channel was formally known as LeFloofTV but was later changed to SACCONEJOLYs
When Jonathan Joly married Anna Saccone they both decided that instead of Anna dropping her family name they would both take each others name and join them together.
They choose to use SACCONEJOLY rather then JOLYSACCONE simply because it sounded better.
Jonathan and Anna Saccone Joly have four children, Emilia Saccone Joly, Eduardo Saccone Joly, Alessia Saccone Joly and Andrea Saccone Joly they also have six maltese dogs, Albi, Sina, Theo, Bianca, Nivea and Nuvola.
They moved from Ireland to the UK in 2014.

Yup. Just saw a quote about a 10 year old getting her ears pierced “The pain was unbearable, but I had asked so much, I refused to cry” wonder if she thought crying would mean she wasn’t ready. Glad Anna let her know it was perfectly alright.

Ms89Monkeylover why is it irritating? It's a father saying that about his eldest child. I'm 17 now and my Dad says that to me still all the time. It's very emotional, and in fact, my Dad started crying the other day because he doesn't want me to get a boyfriend and move out. It's bloody emotional, so don't sit there and say it's annoying when you clearly don't know what it's like.

No big deal. Just keep them holes clean and sanitized. Jonathan is more nervous and scared than Emilia. Use Qtips instead of cotton pads. Vitamin C supplements will help in the healing.

Tip: Get a spray top for the ear cleaning solution bottle and then you can just spray the back and front of the ear. So much easier.

I hope they know that after the three weeks they can’t take her earrings out, they can change them but she needs to have something in them for at least 6 months as they could easily close over! (I work at Claire’s and have seen this happen first hand)

I had my ears done at clairs and one of mine went infected cus they done them to tight. Also they are just pushing a blunt object through ur flesh. Would recomend having it done in an pirecing parlor

My 6 year old for hers done at Claire's. Never again, did exactly everything as followed and let them heal for 6 weeks and they never ended up healing and had to come out. 3 weeks is absolutely no where near long enough!

Stephanie R it is long enough, people’s bodies must react differently, my sisters were fine after three weeks, and she took them out for PE and they were fine, she has the holes still now after a year and they’re perfectly fine.... point is everyone’s bodies are different so three weeks may not be good for your daughter but for my sister it was

Stephanie R I agree. I got my second lobe piercings in October 2018. They have only recently properly healed. Though took 4 months for them to be healed enough to take them out/change jewellery. Different people seems to heal at different rates. I have quite chunky ear lobes so think that’s why mine took so long. And don’t get me started on my cartilage piercing. That took even longer 😂

Got mine properly pierced by a tattooist (needle not gun). I changed them around 2 weeks. I do think the gun makes it take longer because it doesn't use a sharp needle, it uses blunt force by forcing a blunt earring post through. Just my opinion.

It’s because of the gun. One it’s not sharp enough, two the force of the gun slamming the earring in so it can cause a lot of trauma, and three ears swell, the earrings they put in don’t allow for swelling. A professional piercer that uses needles puts in a bar long enough so it allows for swelling. Claire’s shouldn’t be allowed to pierce, they’re not professionals

I had the ‘three week’ piercing done a few months ago and I would highly recommend you leave it longer than three weeks. When I tried taking mine out my ear started bleeding as it hadn’t fully healed. How quickly your ears heal depend on your body more than a solution that just claims to take less time.

I had the 3 week one too but it healed in just a 8 days no blood or swelling, I guess it depends the person's body.

Nina rose I can assure your piercing did not heal within 8 days. It takes a minimum of 6 weeks for an ear piercing to heal completely.

Just because you got lucky doesn’t mean others have. To be honest I think most people are calm, just surprised as I remember most people commented on the video telling them to avoid Claire’s for piercings.

Don’t know if they told you this: Would recommend to only put pure metal earrings in for a few months... and also keep cleaning with a saline solution (I got one from boots) for a while after just to ensure they don’t get infected xxx I also wouldn’t recommend taking them out after 3 weeks as they can still heal over very quickly, mine did in the time I took a shower even though I used the rapid solution... I understand it’s hard but see if you could get one more week off swimming or if she could wear them just to ensure they don’t heal over xxx

Anna please don't clean the ears like that for the first few weeks.. Just pour the solution on a cotton and then squezze the cotton on the front & back of earrings. Then rotate the earrings. *Always have clean hands* Because infected ears are the worst. I pray she's not allergic to her posts.. Keep an eye for redness & stuck backs. Best of luck sweetheart!

H It was 6 weeks when Ihad mine pierced. Mind you, it was 20 years ago this month when my mum took me to this little cubby hole over the top of a nail bar where we live. It was just before my 16th Birthday. Earrings were on every Birthday and Christmas list after that.

A little tip for Emilia Piercing: Do not just clean it with a cotton pad. Small threads can get stuck on the plug and ignite. In addition, no liquid enters the wound canal. The liquid should accelerate there to heal. So rather put a not too small amount of liquid directly on the plug. ☺️ And don‘t turn it around! With that you tear the wound up again and again.

Meike I mean it's not too bad I have double lobes pierced on both side but had them pierced 4 times and only two of the times were successful . It depends wether you look after tehm

It’s not dangerous at all, if anything is safer for children. I was a piercer at Claire’s for years and went through so much training. It’s incredibly safe and probably safe than going to a tattoo studio.

Tahney Foster unfortunately it’s so much more painful to pierce with a needle and that’s from personal experience. For a lobe piercing a ‘gun’ (which is also untrue, as it’s just a cartridge with an earring) is perfectly safe as the only thing that is in that part of your ear is fat so it can’t cause any harm.

100% agree with the comments saying piercing ears with a gun is not as safe as using a needle but at the end of the day every body my age from my generation(30 years old) all had them pierced with a gun and all of our ears healed just fine and are fine to this day so lighten up!

Anna if you're planning on her taking out her earrings for P.E, that's not really going to be possible when it's only been 3 weeks. It's weeks/months before you can leave earrings out without the holes closing up. The 3 week guideline is just about changing the earrings. Emilia will struggle to get the earrings back in after PE so soon after getting them pierced. (I have 15 piercings so I know what I'm talking about) Just wanted to let you know !

aw well done Emilia! I can so relate to you Jonathon, I work in a Nursery with 0-5 year old children. We teach feed, comfort and put these children to sleep from 7am to 7pm and we get paid minimum wage. But I always wonder if they remember me when they are older. I always wonder if they remember the little things we did for them and what we have taught them from an early age that they have carried through to their adulthood x

c_3003 _dance we’re not saying that her ears won’t heal, we are just saying it is like a scam cause and whether you pay extra for 3 weeks or keep the original 6 weeks plan your ears will probably be the same when you change your earrings. But you should still wait 6 weeks before changing lobe piercings just in general as well soo...

Had my ears pierced in Claire’s when I was 6, I am now 20 and they have never closed up despite not wearing them for years at a time! Claire’s was perfectly fine for me, I don’t see what the fuss is!

Agreed. I’m sure there have been some issues for people. And sure the tattoo shops might be better, but for the most part I think people need to chill out about Claire’s. I got mine pierced there and pretty much everyone I know did too. For other piercings I would probably go somewhere else, but just a simple ear piercing it’s probably fine

Tattoo shops aren’t as amazing as they seem, I had my belly button pierced at one which I had looked up and it had a great rating reviews etc! It got horribly injected at first despite proper cleaning, which luckily went after 3 painful weeks. Within 2 years of me having it (should be healed by then) the ball fell off, I was out so by the time I got home - an hour later it had already healed up! Never got another piercing since, the only one I have is my ears from Claire’s when I was 6.

Everyone calm down, ears can easily be pierced with a gun as long as it’s not in cartilage. (Before people start a discussion: I have two normal earrings on both ears and two piercings in my left, the normal ones were shot with a gun and the piercings with needle )

Quinty V I was a piercer at Claire’s for years, went through so much training and I’ve had my cartilage pierced twice at Claire’s it’s perfectly safe because everyone is trained properly so they know exactly where you can and can’t pierce.

Francesca Carr yes and I believe you did get your training, but the dangerous thing about getting your cartilage done with a gun is the possibility of it breaking,. The impact of a piercing gun is too sudden and less controlled so your cartilage might break, there are always cases where it didn’t happen but you can’t take the risk. So yes gun used through the flesh part is fine but I don’t understand that they allow through cartilage.

Id recommend everyone purely for safety reasons to always get cartilage done at an actual piercer with a needle. They know the exact ins and outs of every ear and what is and is not possible. And your cartilage will never have the risk of breaking.

Quinty V ofcourse thats a possibility but you have to be trained to ensure you do not pierce in the wrong place for this to happen. I have pierced many cartilages in my time and it’s has never happened.

Francesca Carr its more about the gun being used then That I have doubt about your experience. Here in the Netherlands the only store that does cartilage with a gun is Claire’s and I do think they only do it because it makes money. It is generally known here that if you get a piercing you should get it with a needle. I have had kids who did had it with a gun and it just doesn’t sit right, some had perfect ones but quite some of them were not good. With a needle I have never seen this problem.

I got my ears pierced at Claire’s in early 2000”s when I was like 8/9, :) then for my second earlobe at 14 by a roommate at boarding school lol. Emilia is so cute

I love how your family do it all together. (big support team) Also I am a retired Cosmetology Instructor. Ear Piercing Guns need to be disinfected and as sterile as possible. If someone had a bad experience it's probably due to technicians who don't follow proper procedures. Not the company.
