Back in the 70's, when a DJ had to fill an empty dancefloor, this song was their "secret weapon". They put this track on, and everyone started dancing instantly. And over the last 50 years, Dancing Queen has continued to be the DJ's secret weapon, because it still has the same effect!

Yes, this was disco music. Waterloo was glam rock. Check more of them. You will discover they are fantastic in every type and style of music. The most talented group that ever existed.
🅰️🅱️🅱️🅰️ made the... BEST ⭐ POP ⭐ MUSIC ⭐ EVER! The girls don't always sing together... They both have extraordinary voices and in some songs one of them does the lead voice, while the other does the backing vocals... Try 'SOS' or 'Money money money' Great react, btw👌! Greetings ❤ from Chile 🇨🇱 🤗 👍
This was their only #1 hit in the US. They were popular world-wide and had numerous #1's all over the world. I was a teenager in high school when this came out and it has been one of my favorites of all-time. I still listen to it often!
I was a second semester Freshman in college when this song came out (winter of 1977). It immediately flew to the top of my favorite pop songs of all time list. Almost 50 years later it is STILL my favorite pop song.
The perfect three minute pop song, the best! Almost 50 years old but it hasn’t dated a bit, still guaranteed to get everyone up on the dance floor. I’m in my sixties, remember this single being released. Perfection! ❤❤
It was recently the 50th Anniversary of Waterloo winning the Eurovision Song Conte st back in 1974. Although prior the contest i had liked Italy, the Swedish foursome were an instant hit with my 10 yr old self. By 1976 when Dancing Queen was released ABBA were dominating the charts it was the 3rd of 3 number 1's with a total of 12 weeks and another no.3 song in the same year. They racked up 9 no.1 songs in the UK alone in their 10 years together. You are in for some great music.
hi from maurizio in venice italy. i m glad and happy you appreciate the music when i had your age. i wish you all the best. i m following you in your reactions..ciao
... I will admit ... I literally wore the grooves off of the 7" vinyl single (we used to call them 45 (rpm) records). I played it over and over and over, I finally bought the whole album and then started playing it over and over and over. ABBA had many, many #1 hits in a lot of countries, but "Dancing Queen" was their only #1 single in the USA.
The first time they performed Dancing Queen was at an event for Sweden's new Queen Silvia the day before her wedding to the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf in June 1976.
