Their lead guitarist (Angus Young) made one of my all-tome favorite remarks from any rock star! “I’m sick to death of people saying we’ve made 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we’ve made 12 albums that sound exactly the same.”
Nope, Angus said this to German Focus Mag (Right winged, Spiegel left behind) : I dont drink alcohol, just tea. But I never had an embarrassing moment, since there had been always some band member around, helping drinking my beer.
The lead guitarist Angus Young is wearing a schoolboys uniform. When they started he was looking for an image, his sister suggested his school uniform and the rest is history.
actually.. he wore it because he would get out of school and go straight to practice or gig without chaging his clothes, because he didn't have time to change
Not many bands can bury their lead singer and KILL with the replacement for four decades. Back In Black is legendary. Bon Scott was a madman and a front man extraordinaire. Jail Break or Long Way to The Top if you want to see for yourself. Bag pipes for #%&! sake!
Rather rock little demons, those which just constantly pop up at every crossroad, every dark alley or any corner you turn to tempt you in their rockin' steamin' gallery of little and big mischiefs. The rock gods are those able to lift you up from this reality and throw you in another, celestial dimension - such as Gabriel's Genesis, Deep Purple, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Joshua Tree's U2, Creedence, Traffic, Jimi, Doors...
@@GerhardvdLinde you know, AC/DC songs are just perfect when you're feeling a bit spicy (and if you're not, they'll make you) while the other bands have given us also that kind of music that will exhilarate, glorify, elevate and expand your spiirt and soul
This album kept me going during Desert Storm. Rumor has it that some American tanks were playing it over their PA speakers on the way across the Iraqi border. They are indeed a legendary band.
It breaks my heart when he's like the person, or potentially the group ACDC as he's never heard of them before. Blows my mind, but also makes me wonder how many hugely popular things are out there that'd I've never even heard of. Also, the suit is a school boy uniform. Legendary Aussie rock band
I find it hard to believe anyone but social luddites have never heard their music. They are used in so many movies and commercials you'd basically never have to ever consume media to have never heard of them at all. Maybe not realize it's them? Sure, but never heard it? I doubt that highly.
@@stevecollins9650 Aww Stevie that wasn't nice. :) I enjoy the reaction videos where it's their first time listening to the artist. I like this man's reactions.
Angus Young in the school boy uniform, was still in school and when he got home he would go to his room and practice with his guitar still dressed in his school clothes because he wanted to be part of the band. So they kept it. And yea you need to do, "A whole lot of rosie"
That is the band with MOST energy at all...no band play tighter and with more energy. As some one mentioned. Try Whole lot a rosie or "The Jack" (but NOT the australian version - if they sing about poker, it is the WRONG version :) The jack is in australia a word for STD. Look for Bon Scott Whole lot a or Bon Scott The Jack. You could - if you look at the band from 1980 on ALLWAYS look for "Live from the river plate" because these guys are - with a huge gap between them and anybody else - the best, i mean the absolute best rock audiance you could see.
Glad to be catching this on the first day you posted it. It's something I heard a lot in the 90s, but my parents were into rock music so there was a lot of Black Sabbath and AC/DC and Queen that got played on our cleaning days. Crank the rock music up to 11 and clean the house from top to bottom.
Been on the go for years. Back in Black album so named as it was their first album after the tragic death of their first lead singer Bon Scott is the second biggest seller in history after Thriller by Michael Jackson. They are one of the biggest bands in the world. Seen them a couple of times , great energy.
@@RK-zf1jm 🤣🤣 you are funny. Yes they were born in Scotland the young brothers and Bon Scott. But they were raised in Australia from a young age. They have even said it many times they are Australian. Don't get mad lol
I'd find it hard to believe that you haven't encountered an AC/DC song. Maybe you didn't know it was an AC/DC song, but there are a lot of movies with AC/DC music (Iron man being one them).
I feel like this song is played everywhere. Movies, sporting events the gym, basically everywhere that wants to pump you up. Not sure how he has never heard it before...
@@nathanestes1832 Ahh, a pedant knows the way straight to my heart. I was going to come on and say 31, but you took it one step further and timed it based off this live recording. For you (about to rock), I salute you.
When they played at DOTG in Oakland, Bon addressed the crowd, "here is a new song from our upcoming album. It's called Highway to Hell". Hearing that most legendary riff for the first time.
"cool dad dance" That's because Angus Young, the guitarist was idolised by Cool Dads when those dads were teenagers back in the 70's and 80's. My family are huge fans. The band formed in my city - Melbourne Australia. My parents saw them grow from a little local secret to a huge band that took over the world, several times over.
Absolutely loving that you’re getting to classic rock and some of the legendary rock bands now. “The Doors” will be a good deep dive very unique band another legendary one.
At the time of that concert, they'd been going for over 30 years perfecting their art. That's the great thing about legends, they've been doing thier thing for so long that they have it down solid.
Saw them live a few years back, my ears are still ringing from it, and wow Angus Young doesn't disappoint. Over 60 and still wears his school uniform (Australia) and has more energy running all over the place than other younger bands I've seen.
It's because he's powered by the Demon Core, leftover from the Manhattan Project. It was made to drop on Japan, but was sold as surplus to power Rock Gods.
Legendary is an understatement!!! This is Live at River Plate 1996 Packed house 3 nights in a row 200,000 + each sold out night!! They just dropped another album "High Voltage" !!! Still rock and roll!!! you will recognize once you hear the riff !!
I have seen this band perform 3 times in my life. WHo Made Who Tour, Thunderstruck Tour, Moneytalks Tour Incredible ever time!!! My favorite band of all time!!!
AC/DC !!! * The best follow would be to see/hear them at River Platte, Argentina PERFORM >>> Hell's Bells, Whole Lot Of Rosie , Back In Black , and Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds, and TNT!
The guitarist, Angus Young, ran after school to their band practice. He stayed in his school uniform. Decided to keep it. And his legs are blindingly white.
AC/DC Legendary Bro! I was born in the 70s, was a kid in the 80s, and a teen in the 90s. I was rap music and break dancing all the way. My mom though was a rock and roller, she loved AC/DC! They are on my rotation for ever!
Age and size of the crowd! AC/DC is huge. I have even seen them in concert. They are fantastic! Tragic story of the band over the decades, the guy (Malcolm) in the black tank top wrote most of the songs, he passed away in 2017 at 64 years old from dementia. So sad! Talent gone so young. The guy in the shorts is his brother.
ACDC is a group that started in the early 1970s. They're famous for the songs "Back in Black" and "Highway to Hell" the song "Thunderstruck was a number 1 hit released in 1990 or 1991. They still perform today.
Seen this band many times in the last 38 or so years. These guys are simply legends - doing what they love. When you're in the audience... the energy is crazy! AC/DC will always be in my top 5 for "All time greats".
If you thought this was high energy, you should've seen them do it back when they were younger. The original music video is worth a watch. The singing is belted out so much more and Angus in the school boy uniform sprints around the stage.
I saw AC/DC perform live (with original singer Bon Scott) at a dance at my high school (Frankston, Vicoria, Australia) many years ago ....still etched in my memory as an amazing night. They are an originally Australian/now worldwide band....The guitarist, angus, has always worn a boys school uniform...shorts, tie, jacket
Go back to the 70's and watch the live video of the song "It's a long way to the top of you want to rock and roll". It features the original vocalist Bon Scott playing bag pipes. Excellent song. Should give you a new view of how variable musical instruments can be used in a song.
Have you been living under a rock. This is ACDC - Australian rock and roll. Every concert is like this. from the late 70's to today. Nothing changes when its ACDC.
After watching several of your videos I can see that rock isn't your thing, That's fine, but I must ask... What have you heard? And what makes your reactions have any relevance? If you haven't heard AC-DC, Simon & Garfunkel, Disturbed, Metallica, Kansas, Aerosmith, etc. Most of these bands have crossed different genres. What have you heard? What marvelous bubble have yu hidden in for the last 40 years? I mean seriously. R&B and Rap aren't my prefered genres but i've still heard a fair amount of it...
AC/DC are the pure embodiment of rock and roll. Been doing it since the early 70s. Band has only had one lineup change when their original lead singer, Bon Scott, died. Brian Johnson (the singer here) took over in and in 1980 they released one of the best and biggest selling albums of all time in Back in Black. The Back in Black title track would be a great second listen, or Whole Lotta Rosie from the Bon Scott era. You'll never find a band with more energy.
This is with their second singer, after their first died. Go try to find a concert of just about any song with their original singer, Bon Scott. Id recommend "Whole Lotta Rosie," but theyve got plenty of other bangers.
Bon Scott was one of a kind, but Brian Johnson was probably THE best replacement they could have gotten in my opinion. Has his own growl and flair but can still hit the same high/screams as Bon did. Absolutely legendary regardless of who's at the front 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for the clarification. Bon was the first singer for them of note. It appears he recorded one single with them before being replaced by Bon, and Bon rerecorded that track anyway.
They are without a doubt one of the great rockbands. The Guitarplayer is wearing a school uniform. Their career was kickstarted by Abba's success, when the Australian Musicians Association demanded a bargain deal so AC / DC got a European trip paid (to Sweden) but they took the opportunity to visit the UK as well and the rest is history.
Greatest rock band in history! Go down the rabbit hole! You won't regret it!!!! Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, TNT, Whole Lot of Rosie is a great place to start.
Wow, never even heard of them? You're spot on, yes Legendary. The guy in the velvet suit is Angus Young that's standard attire for him. The singer is Brian Johnson he took over after Bon Scot passed. Malcolm Young, Angus's brother used to be on drums but he passed away too. Maybe listen/watch this again, the official video, sound quality is better. Great vid! As always
I met the lead singer at the hotel bar, Brian Johnson, before my very first concert with these guys. Nicest guy in the world. We sat at the bar and he talked with me for like 10 mins. I got a picture with him and he signed my poster that I had. You should DEFINITELY check out Back in Black and Hells Bells.
I saw them in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center in 1985. This is one of my top fives. They fired 2 cannons off the stage repeatedly. I thought the whole thing would collapse. It was exhilarating!
That is a school-boy outfit. - The story goes that he had a guitar when he was really young and could not wait to get home from school to play it for hours on end. He didn't even bother to change. So when he was growing up, he became known by his bandmates and friends as jamming in his school outfit - became his trademark.
The guitarist is wearing a traditional young boys school uniform for a private school. It is rumoured the guitarist, Angus Young, turned up to a gig straight from school not having time to get changed. The outfit became a trademark for him. The original line up for the band started in 1973. The lead singer, Bon Scott passed away and this guy, Brian Johnson took over.
This is a later concert, in the earlier ones he wore the school bag on his back while playing. It also looks like he had to replace the school cap too - no school crest on it.
Everytime I hear those first rifts the arm hair stands up. Went and seen them as a teenager and was floored. Absolutely blew my mind. Never felt energy like that in my life. Went to a Godsmack concert after that and while they were excellent high energy. It was no where near the same mind blowing energy that ACDC was and still is.
The story behind "the suit". Angus used race home from school to practice in their band. He was so excited he wouldn't change out of his school uniform. So the tradition continued, he always wears a school uniform on stage.
They old as fuck and still rock. His voice has aged pretty well. Brings back memories partying with mates drinking and smoking weed 30 odd years ago. Back in black is my fave ever ACDC song.
Angus Young, the lead guitarist, is not wearing a "short suit." That's an Australian schoolboy's outfit. In this video, Malcolm, Angus's brother, is on bass. He passed away from cancer, great loss. He was a spirit for the band.
Just randomly ran across this reaction again and sir understand this is the greatest “Blow Job” song ever written/recorded!!!! Go back and read the lyrics again hence being Thunder Struck!!!!!! Yes our Texas women are very hospitable!!!!! Just so you know!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!🤣🤣😎🍸
