Believe me, I hear every available version of Adagio with other singers, but my absolute favorite version of the song is this one with Dimash. I use different fragments of the song on my mobiles, my alarm clock and my doorbell 😁 and I have been listening to the song almost every day since I first heard it with Dimash in 2018. The female singer that looks the most like Dimash is Diana Ankudinova and the male singer would be someone like Marcelito Pompoy. Diana Ankudinova has a amazing range. But Sohyang is the best female singer. There are many amazing singers but none have the level of Dimash.

I listened to Floor’s version and it is indeed a beautiful version. However, I had to strain to listen to the words because the music was so loud. As far as clarity and full on emotion, Dimash’s version is superior in every way, hands down. This is NOT to diminish Floors version because from what I could hear, it was excellent. Lara Fabian also does an incredible yearning and haunting version, especially because she wrote the lyrics, but Dimash makes me feel he’s begging with his whole mind, heart and soul to not leave him. ❤❤❤But, I respect to each his own. ❤❤❤peace and acceptance.

He was indeed singing for his life in this performance, he'd only got 6th place the previous week and he had to regain some ground but he got 1st place after Adagio and regained his footing in the competition.

He is definitely throwing all his emotions into this song. And it paid off too, he scored 1st that week. I feel he threw himself into this song because of two reasons 1. he loves Lara Fabian 2. he didn't do well the previous week (he placed 6th [out of 7]), yes Dimash has "bad" days too (not really lol, i think he just wasn't into the song he had to sing-Uptown Funk). He can sing on his knees/hunched over, laying down (there is footage of him laying down to touch a fan and still singing). Its all the training he does, breath control and all that. I'm usually filled with amazement and awe. I do prefer this version over Floor's and Lara's even. And let's not forget the great arrangement (which I am sure he collaborated on with the conductor) and musical accompaniment. 😊 Just a perfectly spectacular performance. And yes FLOR/NIGHTWISH is amazing. I am not a metal person- but that band is incredible.
