Air Supply is pure ear candy! They are so good at what they do. Still love their songs and honestly, for soft rock, or traditional ballad singers, you can’t do much better.
As a rock guy, Air Supply was always a guilty pleasure. Love them. If you Google Air Supply 2024, you can see that they are still touring and still sound great. Funny thing is Russell Hitchcock (the high tenor, fro) is all tattooed up and wears leather. He looks more metal than most metal bands. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about the long distance dedications. You know you can listen to replays of Casey's top 40 count downs on SiriusXM 70s on 7 station.
I totally forgot about the long distance dedications. You know they do replays of Casey Kasem's top 40 on SiriusXM channel 7 (70's on 7) on the weekends.
I love you talking about the drums. The voices of Russell Hitchcock (red shirt) and Graham Russell are out of this world but they also had great musicians with them. The drummer is the australian Ralph Cooper.
My top favourite is Making Love out of Nothing at All. Official video is worth a watch. Even the Nights are Better - and Just as I Am are fantastic as well.
“I wish I could carry your smile in my heart for times when my life seems so low, it would make me believe what tomorrow can bring when today doesn’t really know.” What a gorgeous verse!! As usual Shon is the KING of breaking down lyrics for songs he just heard… what a great ear you have brother (and the fro ain’t bad either!!) lol
Before we were married, Air Supply played the Home Coming concert at my husband's college. He invited me, we were in the front row and it is something I will never forget.
Air Supply is an Australian-English soft rock duo group who were big in the 80's. They had a lot of great songs such as "Lost In Love", "Every Woman In The World", "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)", "Sweet Dreams", "I'll Never Get Enough Of You", "Even The Nights Are Better", "Young Love", "Two Less Lonely People In The World", "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All", "Just As I Am" etc.
Air Supply, some say schmaltzy, I say romantic. Loved them since the 70's. So many hits, so many great songs! They are still performing today and I love it!
Fire love songs, slow dancing, middle school dances, phone dedications. 😊 Ty for reaction sir. The lyrics meant SO much. Like the Valentine's card that you believe says everything that you clumsily could not.
Russell Hitchcock has one of the finest voices in rock...or maybe in any genre. He is the little guy with the dark hair. This was a wonderful duo and band. Just pick any song. I don't think there was a bad one. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my. I forgot got this song; thanks for bringing it back. I had no idea 😢what it was about. Now, I like it more than ever. Thanks Shon, you nailed it.
Loving all your reactions to the 80's music, IMO one of the best decades for music. Keep'm coming. Try Knight Rangers "Sister Christian" and you can never go wrong with any Journey, Styx or Reo Speedwagon..
The singer styled /fashioned his hair into a "fro". Correct, he's not black so he had to style it that way while the hair of blacks grows that way naturally (more tightly-curled actually).
For your next Air Supply song, you need to react to "making love out of nothing at all." It's a masterpiece! *it was originally written for Meat Loaf but his record company passed on it, and it weti Air Supply and became a huge hit for them.
I think there were plenty of metal and regular pop in the 80s that really used the drums to build up like you point out. Life in a Northern Town by Dream Academy is another really good example. And pretty much anything that includes Phil Collins
These guys had a string of hits in the 80s. I was not really into them at the time except for one reason. They were the white pop version of Barry White. In other words, their songs were panty droppers. Guaranteed. Kept their cassette in the car for date nights.
Alright. I’m just gonna say this. “Making Love out of Nothing at All” is the greatest rock ballad ever made. Air Supply sings it. The guy with the fro sings higher than you’ve ever heard the whole song. It was written by the guy who wrote all of Meatloaf’s hits, so it has that HUUGE drama. Kickass guitar. Choir. You have to hear it man.
I don't know if his hair is permed or natural... but there are a lot of Caucasian people that do have very coarse, tight, naturally curly hair. I have a few friends that have it. He's from Australia, so I'm unsure of his background. I have to say,I've always loved Air Supply. They are spectacular love ballad performers.❤❤❤
You're missing the meaning just a bit, the singer(s) are saying "You loved me, you believed in me, I walked away, that was a huge mistake, I screwed up, can we get back together?"
Jokes. I bought tickets for their concert and asked a girl out and was turned down. I ended up going to the concert with my buddy. I felt like the title, when they sang this song. But not so much for the real meaning of the song.
I hadn’t heard this one before. Beautiful! Thanks for suggesting this. I will obviously have to do a deeper dive into their catalogue. So many great songs out there that weren’t “hits”. The older I get the more I realize that the music industry really limits what you hear.
You should react Rid of me by PJ Harvey, she is an english single and she have an auténticos Voice, and you'll love the background vocals by his friend Robert Ellis.
Hello friend you should react to Brass in pocket by the pretender their oficial video, i feel like listen music i loved with a new friend , thank you for do this.
