@@liveandletdie7187 you hate black singers?? Lol what?? Why??? Black people, generally speaking, have the most power & soul in their voices than anyone. There’s no other race of people that have THAT many great voices! Are you black??
MAAAAAAAN this was and still is that cut! Al B. Sure! took the R&B world by storm when he popped out in '88. More Al B. Sure! - "If I'm Not Your Lover," "Off on Your Own (Girl)," "Oooh This Love Is So," "Rescue Me," and "Right Now." He also has a great verse on Quincy Jones' "The Secret Garden," with El DeBarge, and the late greats James Ingram and Barry White.
It's Friday night, summer 1988. Just cashed my paycheck, me & my girls are headed OUT because we are 21, single, without a care in the world. We will dance to this song at least 5 times at 3 different clubs and love it every single time. We will listen to this song in the car on the way home too. A forever classic that always takes me back!
I love this song a lot!!!! One of Al B Sure's best. Prayers still go to him, poor dude got really sick & was on a ventilator!! He dang near passed away. I barely recognized him when they showed him going through rehab!!! He's really thin & kinda frail & I can't remember what happened, but it was a medical condition that got him so dang sick, not COVID related!!! Nite & Day is on my playlist!!!! Great reaction Tim!!! 😎👍🏼☮️❤️😔🙏🏻🌹
@@juliemcdaniel499 Yeah, you're right!! I believe he was able to call 911 himself & then collapsed & I think he was at the recording studio by himself. It's been a while since I watched the video & read the article about his condition. I remember hearing he was in a coma but I wasn't sure how long he was in a coma, but he was knocking on death's door, poor dude!!!! He was a real trooper & has a great outlook on life!! Thanks for replying, Julie, have a great day!! 😊👍🏼
@@carolr.4863 I think some of his health issues are stress & anxiety related. I think since Kim died, the true love of his life frfr & Diddy's shenanigans he may have been feeling really threatened that he was/is next. There are videos that tells alot of their issues behind the scenes, esp the video where AB says KP was deleted. I think AB knows alot but may be nervous all at the same time. He's still here tho so God is good but my ❤ goes out 2 him. While he is still here, I hope the truth about everything eventually comes out.
Al B Sure “Right Now” his son looks just like him his name is “Quincy” he’s the oldest stepson of Sean Puffy Combs (Diddy) Kim Porter was his mother who died last year. He’s a singer also but mostly he’s been acting Al B Sure is also songwriter.
@@Havonna8251 your right about her passing your right not last year I said Stepson because he treat Quincy like his son and I know he never married Kim.
Back in the 80's R&B music like this was still the main thing and rap was still a niche market until the 90's. This song is a great representative for the R&B music at this time.
Al B Sure was EVERYTHING back in the day. Believe it or not, his speaking voice is much deeper. Check out Oooh This Love Is So, Rescue Me, If I’m Not Your Lover, and Off On Your Own.
They used to play this song all the time back in the day. 72 THOUSAND WATTS OF MUSIC POWER....KPWR LOS ANGELES.... PPPPOWER 106! Ahh the memories. 🎶 🎸 🎶
🙏🏾 Blessings to Al B. Sure glad he is on the road to recovery. The New Jack Swing would not be without him. His son Quincy looks just like him too. Teddy Riley the goat and creator of New Jack Swing listen to Guy.
This song was the ISH back in the day. His VOICE WAS EVERYTHING. U are late 2 the Al B Sure party, I'm surprised u didn't listen 2 him already, he was apart of that New Jack Swing era. BET did an Unsung on him yrs ago so go check that out. He's an r&b icon now bc of the time that he had. He was in a coma for 2/3 months last yr but he's doing better now. We ❤ Al B, so check out Off On Your Own, Rescue Me & Misunderstanding.
Wow, this brings back memories when I use to hear my uncle playing/singing this song when I was extremely young. I'm a young adult now and Tim I'm ready to tell you how I feel about you nite and day. 😂🥰
Loved this song back in the day.I still play this now I have it on cd I play it at home on my stereo system and jam it on my Bose speakers loud and in my car great classic song
I saw him in concert and his voice is a bit different without auto tune and it is also probably hard to sustain those high notes for a long time. Great concert New Edition, Al B. Sure and Bobby Brown!
Junior & Senior years in high school with AL B. SURE! What memories!! Some of my favorites: *Off On Your Own (Girl) *Rescue Me *If I'm Not Your Lover *Ooh This Love Is So *Killing Me Softly (cover song) *Right Now *Secret Garden *Ooh 4 You Girl *Hotel California (cover song) *Private Times *Misunderstanding
2023 this is beautiful to see. I'm 30 born and raised in New Jersey. I grew up on this and love it still. It feels good seeing the younger generation experience and enjoy these vibes. Much love to you and your channel. Peace
So funny you would do this song next...I heard it on the radio on Sunday, & it's been stuck in my head all day! I love his voice & that New Jack Swing vibe of the song. So awesome! Have you ever reacted to Don't Disturb This Groove by System? If not, that is a similar tune & just as great. Love your reactions! ❤️ 💙 💜
Please play more Al B. Sure. Please play the song Right Now. I really enjoy his music from the beginning. I enjoy your channel, please keep up great. If you hear his voice it’s a bit deep, you were correct. Yes, he has a unibrow but we loved it back then and really didn’t pay attention to it. Please play Secret Garden that song is eargasmic ew‼️‼️‼️‼️😍
Al B. and Christopher Williams were late 80s crushes!! 'Misunderstanding'' by Al B. Sure and 'I wanna b ure lover' by Christopher Williams and F.S. Effect were my on Playlist.
One of the most beautiful voices that I heard in concert was Tony Terry. He had a song "When I'm With You". I'm not going to give up on you playing Christopher Williams, Come Go With Me", remake of Teddy Pendergrass.
I had his cassette, Private Times...And The Whole Nine and it was on constant replay in my little apartment back in the day. Especially the song Touch You and So Special. Good memories!
I've kind of been ignoring my subscriptions lately, just been watching other stuff, but when I saw you reacted to this song, I HAD to watch. This was the banger for sure back in the day.
Massive hit back in the late 80's. Then smashed it again in the early 90's with "Right Now". Not to mention a full catalogue of great songs off his album Private times and the whole nine.
Killing me softly is my favorite by al b sure! The original by Roberta flack is amazing, and so is the cover by the fugees. It would be fun to see you react to all 3 versions. Also, have you listened to any Keith Sweat? You should. Nobody is my pick.
