That was the actual graveside behind the Police Department on North Ripley Street in Montgomery Alabama. Hank was from Georgiana Alabama ; about 20 miles or so from Montgomery.
Hank Williams was buried in Montgomery, Alabama where he got his start. The Whipporwill is a bird from one of Hank's songs, and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" was one of Hank's hits ;)
Alan is a very shy guy. He's also the most humble celebrity there has ever been in this world. It's almost impossible for a celebrity to be that humble. He definitely has never, and will never, forget his very tough beginnings.
Well worth the wait. Beautiful dedication to Hank Williams by Alan Jackson. Amazing video along with Alan's full bodied vocals make for a winner. Along with a nod to Hank in the end of the song, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", a big hit for Hank. Great reaction Craig. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Hank was and still is a legend..So sad he died so young..He died in the backseat of a Cadillac on New Years Day in 1953 at the age of 29 on the way to his next show..If you liked this song about Hank you should check out the song called The Ride by David Allan Coe..It's another great song about Hank
Love Alan , he doesn't have a bad song. Just finished listening to his tribute to Loretta Lynn. He wrote the song for his mother. But it fits Loretta to. Had tears rolling while he sang.
Thanks for redoing this reaction. It really is a beautiful song done by the very humble, talented and handsome Alan Jackson. He's been my favorite Country singer ever since he came out in the 90's. Thanks again. 🤠🥰
ALAN JACKSON Is one of my favorite singers. I have loved him since he first came out. I have seen him in concert several times. I would love to see him again.
Thanks for the reaction. This song is a genius of a tribute. So many of the lyrics are references to Hank Williams songs. It is subtle, I'm impressed you picked up on as many of the references in this. For song suggestions: Hank Williams -- Hey Good Lookin' Alan Jackson -- Tall Tall Trees
Alan broke the record for the longest line dance. The song and line dancing are very fun. The song is, Good Time. Loved the reaction to this song. It always gives me chill and a little teary eyed
I love Alan Jackson ♥️ He's from Newnan Georgia, that was 2 county's from where I was from, he's a very Humble Man,Thank You for your reaction hope you and your family have a blessed evening 🙏
I know Halloween is over now but I have another song for you to listen to. It's the Legend of Wooley Swamp by the Charlie Daniels Band! In my opinion will always be one of their best songs! I think you'll love it❤️❤️
Did you get the references to a lonesome whippoorwill, Stars light up a purple sky, midnight train is whining low? All lyrics from I’ m so Lonesome I Could Cry. The drunk man in a cowboy hat. Hank had a drinking problem and always wore a cowboy hat when performing, he wore shiny boots, a nudie suit. Nudie Suits were the flashy suits country singers wore that were named after the Italian designer who created many of them. Haunted eyes refers to the sadness that haunted Hank before his death.
It's about the Ghost of Hank Williams Sr. Midnight the witching hour most likely time for a Ghostly visit, Hank is always singing if you know how to listen.
As this is about Hank Sr. you should react to David Alan Coe’s ‘The Ride.’ It’s a great song about a late night meeting with the ghost of Hank. Btw Hank is buried in Montgomery Alabama.
I appreciate this correction. I got thru the original but I really couldn't hear what you were saying. This is much better. You are right that it was from the nineties. 1992 to be exact.
I am 31 years old and I always say I have heads Alan’s voice so much in my life that it truly feels like a family friend. His voice is so familiar as if I actually know him. We’re from Georgia too and he’s my daddy’s favorite and listening to him so much he’s hands down my favorite too.
I think it’s Hank Williams, Sr. grave. Love hearing your reactions. Would like to recommend k.d. lang singing CRYING in the tribute to Roy Orbison for you to react to. Her voice will blow your mind.
Thank you for re-uploading this one! I have always loved this song and I am so glad you enjoyed this tribute to Hank Sr., loved the look on your face when you heard 'Hank's always singing there.'
I wish you had kind of known the story before you heard it the first time. Country legend Hank Williams was at the height of his fame in 1953 when he died in the back seat of a car heading south (to Montgomery, I believe because of the name of the song.) He was 29 years old. I think you have also listened to his son, Hank Williams Jr's songs on your channel I think Hank Jr was about 3 when his father died.
Thanks for the correction of the sound! One of my favorite Alan Jackson songs. I have to admit that with me that can change to whichever song of AJ’s I am listening to at the time.
I am a new subscriber to your channel and I love country music. This is one of my all time favorite Alan Jackson songs. There is a story about when they filmed this video. They actually choose to film it on New Years Eve at Hank Williams Sr. 's grave & during the filming they had numerous instances of audio and video malfunctions, including areas where it looked like bolts of lightning going through the video & Alan.
Alan Jackson also has a Gospel album that is absolutely amazing. And check out his set for the CMA’s where he opened with Pop a Top then stopped halfway thru and sang Choices. It was a tribute to George Jones who the CMA’s wouldn’t let sing the full song. Alan finished, walked off stage and left the venue!
First, let me say, I LOVE watching your reaction videos. Watching you react to these great songs just makes them new to me, all over again. I would like to suggest three songs for you to check out, sung by Travis Tritt. These are actually a "trilogy" of Mac Singleton, and need to he watched in order to get the full impact. The songs are "Anymore", "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" and "If I Lost You". The songs, by themselves are beautiful. But, when watched in order, the story brings tears to my eyes, everytime, and I want to see your reaction to them. Oh, and I am not expecting all three songs in one recording. That should be a given.
To understand country, you must watch the 4-part show,, The Hank Williams story on youtube..its free.. As soon as he said Montgomery, you know it was Hank Williams grave he went to. !! He references 3 Hank Williams songs, but you missed all that ..A silver eagle is a tour bus...Nudie suits are flamboyant, rhinestone-encrusted cowboy outfits worn country-western singers beginning in the 1950s. The suits were popularized by the so-called “singing cowboys” of Hollywood like Gene Autry and Roy Rogers.
He loves the old country music back when the legends were still around. He hates the new pop country music and walked out of the awards the other night when Beyoncé was introduced.
If you want to listen to beautiful country music ...look up country music tv ...any artist singing on that show sounds at least twice as good as the originals...
