Andre hazes is simply the best in dutch maybe all music, the different genarations and culture within the netherlands. When you go to a bar where there is hiphop music for people 20s you will hear hazes, when you go to older people bars you hear hazes. I listen to this with my dad and my grandpa while drinking heineken. Simply timeless music facts on facts and pure amsterdam mentalitety. From the heart… Ons hazes🧡
I do not know if you can find a translation but you must try to find the song Het Dorp (the village) by Wim Sonneveld. Many Dutch artists have song it. Its almost the 2nd Dutch national authumn...

There is not - I repeat- NOT a single Dutch adult who doesn't know who André Hazes (sr.) is! It would be a absolute miracle if you could find one. (But you won't find one, trust me on this😉) He is a true legend wether you like his kind of music or not. His son, André Hazes jr is also a folk singer but he no longer calls himself 'jr' because 'sr' has passed away and he himself now has a son named André. So this child is now 'jr'.
Hazes was a big fan of BB King and when the opportunity came around for the two to meet, King surprised Hazes by telling him "Oh but I know who you are!" Turns out that during previous tours through the Netherlands, King heard Hazes' music and was deeply impressed by his singing. As far as BB King was concerned, Hazes was a blues singer and a damn good one at that. VERY high praise indeed.
First time I see someone re@cling to Andre Hazes, the king of music in every bar/pub in the Netherlands,. His songs are all heartfelt and awesome. He sings “life” at his purest. You are one of my favorite reactors, keep it real and many more will subscribe, you are loved !
Ooooh, the memories. Came to Amsterdam in 1980. You automatically learned Hazes songs in the pubs you visited. The genre is called ´levenslied´ in Dutch.
When you come to the Netherlands, please go to á café in the Jordaan ( in Amsterdam) And wait until the most guests there are drunk. Than ask for some Andre Hases. Preferably: ,,De vlieger ,, een beetje verliefd or this song ,, kleine jongen. Than jou will know why he is our hero
My brother, you just stepped into the best of traditional Dutch "Song of Life", from the greatest our nation has ever seen, Andre Hazes. And while you might never see this comment, you might and ignore this recommendation, but if you ever, **ever**, find yourself with a few minutes to spare, please listen to Andre Hazes' "De Vlieger". Which translates to "The Kite". If not for our viewing pleasure, for yourself. It is by far the most beautiful song in our language. Though I might be biased, as it has hit harder than ever, ever since my mom passed.
When i was young i pretended to not like his songs but Mr Hazes grows on you and gets in your heart. There is no one in Holland who never sang his lyrics out loud in the bar. You just have to sing a long with him.
Somehow I'm seeing all of your reactions but I haven't subscribed yet. Are you only doing reactions on Dutch music or musicians? I see so many Dutch viewers commenting 😂👍
BommeltjeNL, I love all different types of music I react to what you send me or to what I like or what we as whole community like. So you send me a favorite of yours my way. And we will get it on the request list. Here is the link ko-fi.com/highlycombustiblereacts Most importantly I do this for you all and that is what makes my job very enjoyable. I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
For most Dutch fathers like me, this is a very emotional song as you see how fast your "little boy" grows so fast and the Singer Andre Hazes senior allready past away. R.I.P.
4:55 that is a trashcan from an amusementpark called Holle Bolle Gijs, he legit says "Papier, Hier" (rough translation "papers, here,) and when you feed him your papers he says thank you (If you are gonna do Puppe by Rammstein live, there is a chance that you will see him again in a stroler) Greetings from The Netherlands
While the music isn't my cup of tea, I enjoyed the video immensly. All those images of 50s and 60s Netherlands. When my parents were kids and electronics weren't so predominant in society yet.
Funny to see a reaction of this video from 1963 with music of Andre Hazes. This video from youtube I published on my facebook a long time ago. Seeing my country in 60 years of rapid change is disturbing but try to make the best out of it.
Fully agree on the parents getting more involved in the educational system. I don't know how old this song is but when I moved to Amsterdam in 1981 they were already playing his music in bars. Both in your friendly neighborhood cafe or in the friendly Hells Angels bar everybody did sing along. All over the country actually. I see you reacting to a lot of Dutch stuff. Come visit. No hotel needed, you can crash at my place.
If you love watching people, you're going to love Dutch terrace culture. Sit down outside a bar at a square or busy shopping street and you'll be entertained for hours
Not necessarily limited to our "hero" Andre Hazes, but I see you react to various Dutch artists and regularly notice "surprise". It may be summarized by respect that is embedded in our society although we ourselves tend to forget that! The way i.e. our singers in "Beste zangers" act is not an act, but just the way we are. We have a very "open" society, attend actively to differences and in doing so often over empfasize differences more than what binds us. I see many reactors reacting to "Beste zangers" and trying to "get" what this "competition" is about; it is just fun, having a nice time together, enjoying each others crafts, it is NOT a competition. Competition is normally hardly present in our society, we do "it" together like grades in school are not that impirtant but the exchange of knowledge is! Remember, that the only thing in life that multiplies when you share (divide) it, is knowledge! The fact that many, many years in a row Dutch children score nr 1 in the "happiest children in the world" listing is the sound basis for a "happy" society as a whole. We have 2 sayings to illustrate that. 1) Live and let live 2) Act normal. Mind you, it's not all sunshine!
He wrote this for his son. and the sad thing is like he said in this song “when i'm not here anymore” he past away in 2004. and left his son (10) and his daughter 11 years old.
Wow I am amazed that you also responded to our great folk singer. Andre Hazes plays a very big role in our family at birthdays, weddings, holidays and even funerals. Next week I'm going to a holiday house with sisters and brothers for a week and yes, Hazes will come with me. my brother and I are celebrating our birthday there right away so that will be roaring with Hazes among others hahahaha .Thanks love you to the moon and back ❤️
Dude, this Amsterdam song is still sung by whole streets the year round, when people have birthdays and the beer has spilled richly. Hazes will always aways end the night well for everyone
He is a real Amsterdam singer. Love all his music. Unfortunatly he has past a few years ago. In every cafe here in amsterdam you will still hear his music.
Ah that was so sweet. Everybody in Amsterdam know the music from Hazes, in most bars in Amsterdam his music will be played. A nice tip, his son Andre Hazes junior, sang Ik leef mijn leven in beste zangers and it was his big break through. Sorry I'm not sure of that is the right expression 😆. You're so true about patents teaching their childeren how to live and be a good person. In these days money and status are too important, but love makes the world go round.

The said thing is that André junior Losing his father on a really Young Age the concert whit the kist in the middle of the Amsterdam arena that you see van André Hazes whit Xander de Buisonjé. This song was for him and when he writes this song he was a baby . Now was andre the age of 75 and he died really toooo early 😢 💔
I follow you already and really like your comments. but man, an American comments on Andre Hazes is very very special. Love it and keep it up man. Big greetz from Holland.
Okay I need to hold my horses to not to cry, I'm from the Netherlands living here 20 years and I love Andre's music. Gonna wait for Zij gelooft in mij ❤️
This sub genre of folk music is called Levenslied (Life Song). I am not a big fan of the genre in general, but almost every Dutch person likes Andre Hazes. He had a strong Amsterdam dialect, and I have a soft spot for it, because I was born and raised in Amsterdam.
This song was played during the funeral of my grandpa, it was the first time i heard the song. Hope one day I’ll be grandpa and play the song for my grandchild.
I am so happy that you did this, thank you to the person who did this! Andre Hazes is for me, the most important person to me! He is no longer among us, but he gave me many live lessons true his songs! Thank you, thank you for this reaction!
LOVE YOUR WORK! It has not escaped my / our notice that you always seek out, highlight and promote the GOOD in Humanity. The wise - the kind - the caring. And that your humour is always rooted in genuine enjoyment which is also Respectful. It doesn't come from a place of cynicism or sarcasm. People who have come up through 'the school of hard knocks' can choose whether to be defined by the negativity of their past or look forward through a more Positive 'Lens'. We can choose to be a product of our past or a generator of our future. This is so very necessary when our News Cycle's and many other programs are all about the opposite; the worst of humanity. Keep on being Inspirational! Well done. Ps. maybe you should set up a "The Good News Only" Network ??? :)
This was Andre Hazes Senior. He sung this for his son Andre Hazes Junior. Andre Hazes Senior unfortunately passed away almost 17 years ago. His music is still very popular (especially in Amsterdam). This is one of my favorites from him. His son (Andre Hazes Junior) is also a famous singer. My favorites from him are Leef! And Ik leef mijn eigen leven. I love your reactions, much love 💕 Edit: He sung it for his oldest son not for Andre jr. 🙈
I absolutely love this song!! It is so beautiful and has amazing truthful message! It so beautiful and has that nostalgic feeling of the 50s & 60s vibes with this song! So powerful!!
There is a Dutch rapsong "het land van - Lange Frans & Baas B" (also a very very good representation of Dutch culture) where André Hazes is praised in every bar and café in Holland for the next 100 years..! And I think there right about that! Although he is no longer among us, his legend lives on ;) much love! Keep it up!
Watching the pictures it's unimagible that now this is one of the most modern country in the world. About André Hazes, check out the other reactions...All True
I like this reaction. The singer is very famous in the Netherlands but is considered singing corny songs. It is a guilty pleasure for a lot people and most of the Dutch know his songs by heart. It is nice to have somebody listening that does not know him and his backstory so having an open mind.
What a lovely reaction! It has been said a number of times, every Dutch person knows the Hazes songs. Please check out some more, like "De vlieger (the kite), Een beetje verliefd (a little in love), Zij gelooft in mij (She believes in me). I could go on with just a couple more, but please try and listen to some more Andre Hazes sr. deserves it.
Andre Hazes is passed away also. His son Andre Hazes Junior has almost the same sound of voice. He makes other songs now, but als sings the old repotoire of his old man. "" andre hazes doodgewone man "" is a song from him. maybe worth to lissen?

It's a bit ...no... a lot off dutch country history... in the beginning you see kids putting somthing in a open mouth... rhat from the "Efteling" a sort of Elfwood... "holle bolle Gijs" eat all trash you feed him.... wishedhe was all around the world today🥰
In 2021 i was 34 learned that i had a depression for more then 20 years now chronic never going away. I'd been to many mental helpers and it never got discovered so too speak. Now for the past 3 years im lgetting to know myself again and getting back in touch with my repressed emotions. I know this song by heart and sang along multiple times evn in the past 3 years. When i saw you react, halfway around the globe not speaking a word Dutch (with help of the subtitles)instantly understand the meaning and powerful message of this song, it made me cry to this song for the first time. So thank you for that, it shows music truly is the one language every soul speaks. 💞💞
He had great songs. Nothing but cold truth with a warm voice. This one breaks me at the very first tones. Now I am older, I appreciate it so much more. How many cafe's this man made cry, laugh and drink. For decades.
Never expected this on your channel. Most pure Amsterdam folk music you can react on. He died much to young. Got an unbelievable funeral. His coffin was placed in a soccer stadium. More than 50.000 people there. Many dutch singers singing his songs as a tribute. His wife, daughter and young son (9) sitting there. It was heart breaking. Than in 2014 suddenly this son in Beste zangers. We knew he was a singer too but so far he was pretty unknown. And that year a special evening was organised to honor his father. All present singers were stressed because they wished he would do it well. And could sing a song of his father without breaking. For me this was one of the most memorable performances in this show. Nowadays he is a popular singer in the Netherlands. If this makes you curious. This is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rRG_oU5GRB4.html

It is so much fun to see you react on this when you’re a Dutch person! I’ll strongly recommend to react to much more of this artist. Litterly every song has a story in which somebody in the world will recognise himself. One of the greatest artist fron the Netherlands. He is past away in 2004, but we will listen to his music in 2104, that’s how big he still is in the Netherlands! Listen to this song: Andre Hazes-zondag
