I don’t know what it is about her voice. Just about any song she sings makes me cry a good cry. Not many things in life does this to me . My heart is somehow in line with the tone of her voice. The sound of her voice is so soothing and hypnotic that my mind goes to places in my past. Some memories are sorrowful and painful and just by listening to her angelic voice some how makes everything better and replaces them with joy and happiness. I am in thrall to this fantastic artist. This song makes me feel the pathos and longing as if Angelina has truly lived through it. Amazing! It's not about better. Music makes us feel something and our visceral/physiological responses inform us of the choices we will make. Who do we want to listen to? (From reading many Dimash and Diana reactions, I think they feel for these singers what I feel for Angelina). The future of music is safe and in good hands. For me, the best hands are Angelina's. Angelina is a special singer to say the least. I often state that yes this is one of my top 90 by Angelina. You can see why. Angelina uses her God given voice appropriately to fit the song. She is my favorite human, singer role model. Thumbs up Adam.

Every Angelina song brings me to the edge of my seat and I easily shed tears.. she just brings me there.. haven't found a favourite song or interpretation yet.. and also have just heard the original by Adele tonight, and this cover is a whole other ballpark.. what also makes me happy is that Angelina twists every song to her own way and doesn't copy the singer.

There is always the temptation to compare this to Adele, but I'm not sure if it should be compared. I have heard this one many, many (so many) times, and I just don't think there is any way for any other artist (adele or not) to top what was done here by a 12 year old (just sitting in her in her home with her friend). Adele is Adele, and she deserves her place in the list of all time great singers, but Angelina is something else completely. The list that Angelina belongs on is much shorter than the list that Adele belongs on (in my opinion). I will be looking forward to your next Angelina reaction. This is a song about nostalgia, and regret... neither are loud feelings, they are more introspective, a whisper of remembrance, sadness and regret. Angelina emotes this beatifully, soft and inviting which is why she captivates one's attention in a golden cage of feelings.

It is testimony to the emotive prowess of Angelina Jordan that when she sings a sentimental song about her life in the distant past, we have no choice but to believe this twelve year old girl. 😊 This is one of the songs where she she improves on the original, and there is a mashup with her and Adele here on RU-vid that illustrates that point. Also, you are spot on in your comments, although I have to disagree that this is pure perfection. I’d rather say it is pure honesty, with no post production adjustments or “fixes”. For me, that makes it even more enjoyable. As you will see in future reactions, Angelina is very brave in that way also, putting out some quite experimental performances. She is not behaving like a «star» building a career, but like a gifted artist and hard working musician growing step by step before our eyes. My take on Angelina is that she an empath . Meaning that she collect the emotions of peoples around her and project them back to her public . Adam, this is one of my favorite Angelina covers, her emotions in this song is just out of this world. It was one of the songs that truly sucked me down into the Angelina rabbit-hole. It's as much beauty to just watch Angelina Jordan move, as it is beautiful to listen to her sing. If you watch her in silence without the sound of the music and her voice in this video, then you can feel the vibration, the immense music of her sensitivity on the edge of her soul in her delicate dancing gestures, her hands when they move with elegance, his so discreet smiles, his looks so deep and so humble. What freshness and what innocence! it is beautiful, noble, tall and light as to watch the flight of a bird. Even the guitarist is under the spell. And when you listen to her sing without looking at her, without even ever having seen her with your eyes closed, it is the same mysterious and so overwhelming magic in her voice that grabs your heart. Thank you for anther phenomenol reaction so soon! I totally agree with everything that you have just said. This has been my of my favorites but with Angelina you end up with multiple favorites...it is hard to stay in the single digits partly because she is so diverse and she does everything in such a special way. You are beginning to see just a tiny glimpse of what I am talking about. So far, 4 songs, 4 different types of music, 4 different presentations and aspects of her voice that introduce the different sounds she brings based on her interpretations....There are many more to discover. As far as the AGT songs go, they are phenomenol. Her performances, again, were geared her that environment. AGT has a certain type of audience and almost formula that a lot of singers follow..... While so many people are highly recommending those performances I don’t think that they are her”absolute” “best” overall work. She just has so many brilliant pieces that she has done to say the AGT performances are the top of everything is a personal preference. I absolutely love love love Queen and Freddy Mercury. I love what Angelina did with it and her version of YBR was beautiful (better than the original imho) but for me personally to say that it was “the “highlight” or “best” of all her music I cannot do. There are actually too many of her songs that I love so much that I cannot really come up with a top 10 much less just 1 or 2 songs. It just depends on my mood because Angelina covers every mood..pretty much. I listed the songs that I think are pretty diverse and are really on my “list” of Angelina’’s best. One song that I listed, I think is really impressive but to some maybe not earth shattering is “Something’s Got A Hold on Me” by Etta James. And I've come to the conclusion after hearing most, if not all, of Angelina's RU-vid performances, that her voice is exactly like you described it: liquid gold! It envelops you and gets right into one's soul. AND she uses her voice magnificently as a storyteller, giving each word more meaning, more depth. Even at 12 years old, let's not forget that! Of course, Adele is Adele and a wonderful singer/songwriter, so deep and personal with her lyrics. But again, Angelina seems to manage to turn everything around to project a new perspective. Your description of her vibrato as a "flutter" seems like a perfect description of how she has chosen to embrace the use of that tool, as she has matured from a younger child. It seems to have moved from a dominant factor, to a "flavor", which does not necessarily show up at the end of every line.

Hi! I’m back again, I know, so soon but there are 3 additional suggestions: These are totally different styles and sounds from what Angelina has in her 103..give or take..to date, music. One that I know of is recorded when she was 11 years old, La Boheme, another is an original written by Angelina Jordan, Oslo and then ....I believe Speak Softly Love. from The Godfather. All 3 were performed similarly and at least 2 if not 3 were live at an outdoor venue in Norway with the royal orchestra that she performs with regularly. They are really interesting and beautiful to listen to. She has several recordings out from each and “Oslo” has one recording where she is in the outdoor venue again and when the is introduced, she comes out to the mic and starts singing immediately catching the orchestra off guard as they look at each other and start scrambling thru the music. Really different for Angelina. She is usually so exacting in all of her performances. A rare moment and quite comical I might add. Just another glimpse of another dimension of Angelina. Thank you Adam for another satisfying and enjoyable reaction to Angelina and her wonderful accompaniest Ivan Mendez. I respect and admire all singers. I think of the human voice as the greatest musical instrument God has bestowed upon his greatest creation, the human race. There have been and certainly still are singers that have brought great joy to my soul and leave me so grateful and in awe of their talents. I first heard Angelina over 2 years ago. I have not gone a single day since without being enraptured by her angelic voice and her purity of heart. Angelina has profoundly and permanently changed me in ways I simply cannot articulate. Listening to her has in no way diminished my joy and delight in any other artist. If anything she has increased those feelings. I now listen to all music with greater awe and respect. Comparing Angelina and Ivan to other performers is useless. Maybe it’s like seeing colors for the first time. One artist’s canvas may affect me more deeply than another’s but my knowledge of color has made the whole world more profoundly beautiful. This is the effect Angelina and her music have had on me. Making subjective comparisons within the realm of human creativity is to me as pointless as comparing the beauty of the butterfly to the beauty of the flower upon which it alights.

What Angelina does for me is deliver the message in the lyrics. Her interpretation of lyrics gives them meaning and relevance, and her emotional openness and sincerity (as in this song) is just staggering. Angelina doesn’t throw away any words or phrases. Songwriters are lucky if she chooses their work because she brings those lyrics to life. I know you haven’t seen her Yellow Brick Road yet. It’s a song I remember well from the 70’s, but didn’t go out of my way to listen to. I never actually considered what the lyrics meant. Elton John was pleasant pop music for me. The first time I heard Angelina sing this, I understood what the song was all about. I’ll never hear it now without remembering it’s actual relevance to her performance. And I’d guess I’ve listened to her sing it probably a hundred times in the past six months.

If you liked this cover of a Adele song, try another Angelina Adele cover, WHEN WE WERE YOUNG. It's just my opinion but I think Angelina did this one and When We Were Young even better than Adele. I suggested it before but I'll put it in again. Try SHIELD. It's newer and it's original. Angelina wrote it herself and it's pretty darned good. She has a couple versions of it. A live version done from some sort of indoor possibly TV show and a studio version. You can't go wrong with either one. I have no real favorite between them. This is about the 3rd time you have called one of her covers your favorite so far and I'm guessing you will say that more times yet because AJ never ceases to amaze. You still have to experience her 3 AGT performances plus the 2 that I suggested, The Show Must Go On, and many more that are all equally mind boggling. I don't believe you have heard her best yet but I won't spoil it by telling which one I think is her best. I'm sure you will pick your own favorite.
