I'm not 100% sure about the lore but I think according to their latest diary entry all of them are in the world A (ordinary world) right now. But they're having withdrawals because in the world Z they are heroes having solid goals (defeating the guardian) while in this world they're faced by the harsh reality, that their dreams are challenged by their adulthood & that they need money for everything.
Yeah indeed, They're literally questioning themself about their achievement 😭, that 'is this really what we want? Is this really our golden hour? ' Like dangggg their lore really mindblowing
Blind has a huge Latin influence. Mostly Mexican and in Mexican music the accordion is often played. I'm not Mexican but I am Puerto Rican and Blind hit home for me. Made me think of growing up in New York in the summer. Songs like that would have been playing all summer. Ateez spent part of there tranee days in LA which Mexican culture is everywhere. So part of me thinks that are acknowledging the culture and the time they spent there.
As a puerto Rican when I hurd that ryhtm at the end that's in every puerto Rican music at every function. I felt like home!!! Blind and shaboom have a special place in my heart..!!!! I hope they perform in puerto rico some day. And make more music like this.. They def nailed it.
i loooove shaboom so much, it might actually be my absolute favourite cause as a lover of both it makes my brain + ears so so so happy and for some reason it just works rlly well for me personally!! it makes my heart swell up so much that they even touched onto those two genres and made it for themselves. god i fell in love from the first listen. and it flows so so well with siren coming next !! it's absolutely chefs kiss; this album blew me away once again. crazy dudes, absolute crazy dudes. ateez always coming with soooo many new sounds, it's insane that they sound so so good. and i felt that they use their vocals and rap parts and such so well in this album too. every single one of them sounded way different than previously heard and i love it a lot. the fact that they still expand on what they can give is crazyyy (jongho on that low note in work is so lovely). ateez make it hard to leave the number one spot for me man😭😭love them so much. it's always such a wild and new ride with them. also, you should definitely watch the dance to work !! sooo fun both the dance, stage prep and the fits work so well too
Mingi had revealed that both crazy form and siren were in competition last comeback for the title track but they ultimately chose crazy form. I think they also said they almost saved blind for a future comeback because they thought it seemed like a title track as well.
Empty Box is ALL OVER the diaries for this album. The diaries are a tear jerker. Our ATEEZ are separated again… due to life. I highly suggest getting yourself a copy of the diary version of the album. It will help you so much.
Your reaction to Shaboom is so satisfying, very satisfying, definitely satisfying. i don't like people commenting on Shaboom not knowing Reggae, it removes the natural appreciation to the genre. so yeah! Ateez is now expanding their horizon in terms of genre. Not limiting themselves to Korean Listeners. THAT IS ATEEZ FOR YOU. THEIR MUSIC IS A WAY CUT ABOVE THE REST. Not your typical SKPop Idol. They are for global appreciation.
I love all the songs, but Blind, Empty Box, and Siren have my heart. Actually now that I've heard Shaboom and Work again it's also a fave. The whole album is my fave I guess lol❤

so for shaboom, the sounds makes 100% sense to me as someone who listens to soca/calypso as major lazer does a great job at blending the genres the EDENARY producers did w this song! i.e. all my love (major lazer ariana grande and machel montano)
I can't think of a lot of groups that can do the latin/espanol vibe in kpop, especially with paying respect to the culture and featuring the community rather than just dressing up. Off the bat, i can only think of Chungha- Play (she also worked with Hongjoong/Ateez). And VAV, they have a lot of Spanish influence and even collabed with Latinx Artist, their songs are Senorita, Designer and other i can't remember rn.

If you like Mingi and Yunho in empty box, you need to check out Youth, it’s a unit song by both of them and it has the same feeling to it (it has an MV too)
Blind was a contender for title track of this album but they chose work. Which tbh, I prefer blind. But yes, siren is very title track it has a similar form/structure. My fave from this album is shaboom. It’s sooo new & unique.
Lo hear me out you must must must listen to the besides songs on outlaw and movement albums. along with HALAZIA these all what you have to listen to before you listen to anything from ateez

actually they only sang in Korean, English and Spanish not Portuguese, and I have an ideia of why they probably chose Spanish, bc in Portuguese we have so many hard words to pronounce even for me, and I'm brazilian, and in Latino America all the countries except for Brazil has Spanish as native language, so using Spanish in the lyrics could include more countries and people :) (sorry if I wrote smth wrong, like I mentioned, English isn't my native language, so if u notice smth wrong tell me)

Glad you enjoyed the album overall. Your first deep dive into Ateez bsides! Blind was actually the one that was considered to be the title track. And yes, Siren sounds like it could belong to The World series. My favourite song of the album is Blind! While seeing the album tracklist, off vibes and titles only I claimed Shaboom and Siren. Then listening to the highlight medley, I stood by that but felt like Blind was the sister of a song called Arriba in the latest full album! And when listening to the full song I was like wait... Blind truly is Arriba's little sister and I live for this mi gente latino era for Ateez 😭😭 I like a good emotional R&B song too and Mingi sounds so good on Empty Box like wow. And they're promoting it as a bside on music shows! Given what we heard on the highlight medley, I really liked Shaboom but yeah, the song was very divisive among atinys. Literally no one was expecting it to be reggae, i literally froze 😭 The way they sicceded to mix reggae with that dubsteppy sound was truly incredible! On first listen of the album I kinda thought Empty Box made sense here in the album to get a breather and we were kinda eased into it because although Work does have a classic last 30 seconds from Ateez it's not as high energy as what we might be used to from their outros so Empty Box didn't sound too out of place for me. Ending it with Siren also made sense to me, as a call back to The World series. Read the diary entries to try to make sense of what is happening lore wise and it's a bit heartbreaking. The boys are separated again after coming back to World A but due to life and responsibilities. They have to kinda give up on their dream to be idols together. They were heroes and fighting for something while performing together in World Z and now they're back here. Nobodies. Dreams out of reach and adults now. They gotta put food on the table still so they gotta work, even though they're not doing what they dreamed of. So the intro beautifully narrated by Maddox makes sense. And the Work MV too but in the sense that yeah... We live in a capitalist society and we gotta do what we gotta do to survive. This comment is all over the place lmai But I think I'm done! I just really can't wait for you to listen to The World series. This trilogy is, for me, their best work to date with Outlaw being their magnum opus (for now) See you next time!
När jag hörde Shaboom efter deras preview var jag typ helt paff asså typ ”Är detta verkligen samma låt?” Men som du sa, det är verkligen skitkul att de vill experimentera med musik och genres. I mitt perspektiv är det definitionen av det som gör en låt till en bra låt. Kan man bygga upp låtar med olika genres och få det att passa så är man ett musikaliskt geni 🤓 Jag tror även att det är svårt för vissa fans i kpop generellt när det kommer låtar med genres som de inte är vana vid, att det liksom blir ett nytt territorium (eftersom det oftast förekommer antingen är typ väldigt hypade låtar, R&B eller typ en ballad) vilket gör att vissa blir lite (jag vill inte säga missnöjda) men att låten kanske inte möter deras kriterier eftersom vissa fans har väldigt höga förväntningar. Personligen för mig är detta anledningen till att jag började lyssna på kpop, eftersom att de vågar testa nya saker även fast fansen kanske inte riktigt tycker att det är deras smak. Så länge alla artister har kul med det som de producerar/ skriver så är jag nöjd ☺️

The Latin flavors 🎉 the accordion feels very Brazilian. You hear it everywhere in Brazil. It’s known Brazil left a big impact on them during their tour. Music like this is actually very common in America (continent)
Sincerely, as an atiny I was disappointed by this album, I was expecting more better.... I don't like when they mix different genres that have nothing to do with each other because it gives me the impression that it's a mess, the song doesn't make any sense, as you say it's a fever dream. The only songs I liked were Work and Empty box because they're the only simple, catchy and kinda generic songs (no hate please, it's just my opinion)

First of all, not trying to stir any drama or spread negativity because I just love Ateez. I just genuinely want to know atinys' thoughts on the line distribution of blind. I know that there's always gonna be a member who gets the least lines in a song and that's a fact. Also, the line distribution may vary according to how well the tone of a member goes with the genre. I get that. If all the members have 20-25 seconds and one member gets like 12-15 seconds then that's still understandable. But if all the members have about 15-20 seconds of lines and only one member gets LESS THAN 3 SECONDS then that line distribution is kinda concerning to me given that the member in question is the one who has the most number of songs in which he is the last place in line distribution. You all must know by now who I am talking about. It's Yeosang. Also, I wouldn't have been so pressed about it if his voice didn't go well with the song but his voice just suits this song so much. They literally made their other vocalist sing in their deeper tone instead of just making the member who naturally has the deepest tone in the group to sing those parts. I really wanna know if other atinys even noticed this and if they did what are their thoughts on this? The fact that this could've been their title track really scares me.
