And the Bee Gees stands for B, Brothers, G, Gibbs. Brothers Gibbs. Barry Gibbs, the only Gibbs brother of 4 still alive, and the twin brothers, Maurice and Robin Gibbs. Their younger brother, also a singer, Andy, died in the late 1980's. Their music list is second only to Paul McCartney. They were singers, songwriters and producers of so many songs in their lifetime and Barry, the oldest and only one still alive, is still writing, singing and producing music today. Barry (the one in the middle with the amazing falsetto) is the oldest and the only one still alive today and still performing. The ones on the ends are Robin & Maurice who are twins. They had another younger brother Andy Gibb who also passed away. This song was the band's contribution to the "Music for UNICEF" fund. They performed it at the Music for UNICEF Concert on 9 January 1979. The song later found its way to the group's thirteenth original album, Spirits Having Flown. I just saw this, on your channel. I am 70,had graduated Georgia Tech 2 years before they did this. The late 60's and especially the 70's well into the 80's had simply the best music hands down. Radio Stations across the South tried them all out first and had a special way of running the music into each other, we sang to it as we drove and worked in Atlanta. Other than church music, my favorites were the Bee Gees and this song my favorite by far, I have played and sung to it all my life. And many of their others. They wrote over 1000 songs. They started singing in 1958. (Just small boys than Barry 9 and twin Robin & Maurice were 6). They have hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and even into 2000. They practically invented the disco sound in the film, Saturday Night Fever, around the mid-70s. Before that, they did mostly pop and ballad type songs. Like 'I Started a Joke', with the guy on the left, Robin, as the lead singer in that one. 'Words', and 'I Gotta Get a Message to You' were more of their older hits you'll enjoy. 'Staying Alive' was a big disco hit for them.

They blend flawlessly because whether singing in a normal tone or their falsetto they all sound eerily alike. Although Barry's voice stands out among the three. Three great talents. T Champagne's listing their original Big Hits. They aren't too different from their more contemporary ones, either - the same talent, the same songwriting. The only thing that's different is these songs have stood the test of time, and still sound BeeGees-fresh. I would definitely recommend these songs and just about every other one. There are borings songs, or ones I don't care for - but far far fewer of those than the ones I enjoy.
That is Barry Gibb the oldest of the three brothers and its his real voice but in falsetto. You can tell they have been singing together for a long time, their harmony is spot on. The way they all hit the staccato in the middle of the verse without missing a beat. Barry's voice hovering right there in the sweet spot in that warm area with that blend of breathiness then pitching up to the higher notes with a hint of nasal in the note then mellowing back down in perfect harmony. Thats true talent

Great reaction to my favorite group! I’ve loved their music since 1968. There are videos of them performing from 1960 (when Barry was 13 & the twins were 10) up to 2001. Their styles changed often as they always wanted to try something different. I recommend you try songs from all 5 decades. All three have incredible voices & range.
