Insane layering done too on the production side, but the notes still being hit! Hate that we’ll never know what just three voices on this song would have sounded like:/
These brothers harmonize better than any band. Barry in the middle, Robin on the left, and Maurice on the right. Barry is the only one still living. You've fallen in a rabbit hole of a 60 year career with the Bee Gees.
I watched a special on them. Their late Mother said Andy Gibb was a baby and she had just put him down to for a nap. She heard Barry, Robin and Maurice singing along rather loudly to the radio. She went in to scold them only to realize there was no radio, they were harmonizing by themselves, no radio. That's when she knew they were talented.
Actually you are hearing 27 different tracks blended together! Barry recorded 18 alone! All three brothers recorded recorded 9 additional tracks, singing different harmonies, leads, falsettos. The horn section if from the group Chicago. I love The Bee Gees, their music brings back so many memories for this 70 year old granny.
Michael Jackson said He Cried the first time he heard them sing. He and Barry were friends Nobody like the Bee Gees... Not only did they sing like angels ...they WROTE HUNDREDS OF SONGS....MUSIC TOO.....for many other artists. They're talent is indescribable......
Love watching you watch/listen to the BeeGees for the first time. 70-years old and I was there to listen to almost all of their hits!! NEVER will be another Brother's Gibb!
RIP ROBIN AND MAURICE (pronounced Morris)! We love and miss you!!🫶 Barry was just honored with a Kennedy Center Honor this past November by President Biden!
Sweetheart, let me tell you! I'm 71 years old and every woman I've ever known has been in love with Barry Gibb!!! He's been with his wife for 50 years, though, and you have to admire that! One of my favorites by them is Tragedy, To Love Somebody and I Started A Joke!! Thanks for keeping this music alive!
I'm 57 and I was sooo in love with Barry!!!!!! Most of my friends were as well!!! That's the original og falsetto! He is the last one left 😢. His brothers were also so talented! No autotune!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They wrote more than 1000 songs for themselves and others. I bet you know Stayin alive ! Guinness World Records lists Barry Gibb as the second highest-grossing songwriter in history behind McCartney. Gibb's career spans more than 60 years. He and his brothers were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees
This performance from bee gees was a concert for UNICEF a children charity they donated the proceeds to the charity!and of course no auto tune in them times just pure talent!
You have just met THE BEE GEES. They each had beautiful voices and most people overlooked the music that was not disco. Start in the 60's and keep going. Love them, They become part of your soul, at least for me. RIP Maurice and Robin. Love to Barry
Bee Gees three brothers, left Robin Gib, middle Barry Gib, right Maurice Gib, the guys born on the Isle Of Man 🇮🇲 of the coast of the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, they are the only band in history to have Written, Produced, and Recorded six consecutive No1 hits in a row, this was between 197-79, Bee Gees had the the biggest selling album in history until Michael Jackson brought out his album Thriller, Jackson mentioned his inspiration for Thriller came from the bee gees, the bee Gees first and foremost always considered themselves songwriters before being vocalists, even though they were phenomenal singers, they have written songs for dozens of other famous artists, Elvis Presley covered a bee gees song, they have a huge catalog of amazing songs , and they were considered by many people to be one of the best songwriters ever, they have sold over 250 million records worldwide over six decades, great reaction thanks 🙏
I am a 67 yr old white guy,l was always in to the old soul scene, and the northern soul, and then lovers rock, what is missing from today's music,is the message!! That message is love, love for each other, everyone bought a record for the lyrics back in the day, because every song back then told a story, usually about love, and a story they could relate to, if you up and coming artists want to make it big,you need to trawl the archives, like jalon Ngonda ! EVERYBODY loves this kind of music, yourselves included, and yet it is nearly 50 yrs old. They say everything comes full circle, it is time for that circle to be revisited!! Sooner rather than later!
Oh, and they wrote their own music, Barry and Andy wrote a lot of Andy's music. (Youngest brother 13 years younger) The won 9 Grammys, in the top 100 almost all the time. 40 years that spanned 5 decades singing. A slew of #1. Wrote Music for a lot of Big Stars Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers + Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Barry wrote and sang a song with Michael Jackson. Wrote a song for and sang it with Striesand. He wrote with his son who played with him, with his brother Robins daughter. Barry, was knighted. Last year the won the Kennedy Center award for their career, even though 2 have passed. Barry, at 72 wrote and sang a #2 top ten song. They dedicated all the proceeds for this recording we just listened to, to UNICEF inpertuiry. In other words it will always go to them. I checked and as of last year, the running total is $11 million. These guys are Legendary. EPIC. No one can do that falsetto like Barry. Married to the same woman 53 years. She was a super model who Steve McQueen hit on, while they were married, she said no There are more awards
They donated the proceeds of the song to UNICEF a children's charity. Reportedly, it was 11 million dollars. ❤❤❤ Love their pre 1975 songs. Before all the falsetto. Been listening to them since 1968.😂😂😂
Oh, so many more songs - check out the Soundtrack; The Bee Gees (Brothers Gibb) knocked it out of the park! I was in high school when that movie came out…awesome music! They had a younger brother, Andy Gibb, who had a solo career. He performed with his brothers at times and his music very similar to his brothers. Alas Andy passed away when he was 30 (think that was his age). The BeeGees - Robin on the left with the long hair, Barry in the middle, and Maurice (pronounced Marris) on the right. Maurice was the second brother to pass, then Robin. Barry is the last one of the BeeGees and he does some concerts. They were a successful group in the early 60’ but when Saturday Night Fever was released, the BeeGees were the group that most folks loved. Such great voices with the harmony only brothers can do. Oh, there is so much to hear from them…it’s a big rabbit hole!!
My brother. The utter disbelief in the first 40 seconds of the song. You just getting it straight in your head. Wondering what to even say about it. It's a great reaction. Looking forward to seeing the rest. Thanks
Yep, everyone has this reaction!! Phenomenal group!! I grew up with these 3….my favorite group! (Along with Journey…another great voice….try Faithfully)
A masterpiece of perfection and soul in perfect harmony by a one of a kind group from the sixties and forward. They actually started as kids in the fifties.🎉❤ Love hearing them and watching the reaction of younger generations. Barry is the only brother left. His younger brothers were fraternal twins: Robin and Maurice. Younger brother Andy came on the scene as a solo as soon as he was ready. Talent ran in the family.
Both of my parents lived with me. They were both on hospice. The last few weeks before she passed. I was playing Bee Gee’s videos for her daily. This is how I come to love the Bee Gee’s. It’s like each song that gets played. I have the best memories of my parents. I miss you mama and daddy ❤
GREAT REACTION! The Bee Gees rabbit hole will lead you on a great musical journey with one of the best, singing, songwriting, and producing groups to ever do it! They written, performed and/ or produced over 1000 songs for themselves and others with a little more than 100 of them landing in the top 10. Needless to say, their discography is INSANE! A few of my personal favorites are this track, "Nights on Broadway", " Fanny(be tender with my love)", " You should be dancing"," More than a woman", " Love you inside and out ", " Love so right " ,and "How deep is your love ", just to name a small few! Enjoy the journey!
Love your Bee Gee reactions of the brothers (Barry, Robin, & Maurice). They had a younger brother Andy who had a great solo career. The Bee Gees were very popular in the Black Community growing up! The Bee Gees had hits in the 60s. 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: Too Much Heaven (R&B) (you just reacted to this) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) Staying Alive (disco) - I’m sure you’ve probably heard this but not knowing it was them who sing it. Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special) Alone (pop) Love So Right (R&B) Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) One (pop) Wedding Day (pop) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) Blue Island - live (pop) Our Love, Don't Throw it all away-Bee Gee's or Andy's version (pop) Secret Love (pop) This is Where I Came in (live) (pop) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) If you want to see them (the Bee Gees) and how they work in the studio try: (A) the making of their song "Tragedy" from 1979 (B) The making of the song "Just in Case" (C) The making of the video "This is Where I Came in" from their last cd in 2001 Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung) -- alone or with his brothers (Robin & Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and Barry did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD with Barry doing a lot of background vocals. Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent! More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli) Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)
@lydiabugner6437 5 minutes ago (edited) No autotune, just harmonizing like they have done since childhood - 3 brothers. Barry does falsetto very well though he had no training until record producer told him to sing falsetto and he did it. He does hit above high C at one point. Robin (long hair on left) sings tremelo and Maurice (on right) has the perfect voice to bring all three together. Actually at this time none of them could read music, but they write the melody first, then the lyrics and then add the title. You know there are 3 people singing but you can separate the voices from each other. This is one of the most beautiful love songs ever and they donated all of the royalties for this song to UNICEF. They grew up singing and writing songs together since childhood so that is why they harmonize like no others, but with no formal music training. They started writing and singing on radio and TV and then recording in the 1960s in Australia and then when they moved back to England and eventually moved to Miami, FL in mid-1970s, where Barry and Maurice lived for decades. Robin made his home base and had a solo career in England, but came back and forth to write, record and tour. Maurice died in 2003 and Robin died in 2012 so they were writing, recording and performing until Robin died. Since then Barry has written, recorded and performed solo and with two of his sons and Maurice's daughter who is a singer. Barry is also mentoring young musicians. He and his wife have 5 children and have been married for 54 years. They have also written songs and produced records for Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and many others over the years.
Bee Gee's wrote all their music.. performed it phenomenally, and wrote and produced for some of the other best artists of the time.. They were amazing. My heart goes out to Barry.. the oldest Gibb.. he's buried 3 younger brothers.. I can't imagine.
I am crying tight now I lost my husband to cancer in 2018. We were in lové for 44 years . I have not been able to go on without him in my life. He was the reason I was so happy. He had the most beautiful face I ever saw . This handsome man ónly wanted me I loved looking at hís beautiful face all those years. He was kind and so thoughtful He would bring me flowers when there was no special occasion . He showed me in so many ways how much he loved me. Í love him so much . Love never goes away. Befire he left me , he asked me to promise him that I would only love him. I promised him and I keept that promise . I have never gone out with another man and never will I . His love was all I ever needed and without his love I am do deeply depressed.
This song will always remind me of my 1st Love years ago in the 70's... Great hearing it again, I still listen to the oldies, real music, real singers, no synthesizers needed or electronics...
What a GREAT reaction! You just met the Brothers Gibb. Sir Barry is in the middle and has an astounding range and high falsetto. On the left is Robin, who had a strong voice and vibrato. His twin, Maurice (pronounced Morris), to the right, played multiple instruments and made their harmonies soar with his mellow voice. The Bee Gees started performing together in Australia when Barry was 9 and the twins 6. Their youngest brother, Andy, looked and sounded much like Sir Barry. I saw them all perform once on TV. Andy died tragically at just 30. Enjoy the ride. You just got started. Watch Sir Barry Gibb receive one of the Kennedy Center Honors 🎖 just last December if you get a chance. It's on RU-vid.
Wrong. They started singing in their homeland before emigrating to Australia in 1958. They sang as a trio in a group named The Rattlesnakes in their parents' home town, Manchester, England. Barry was, in fact, nearly 12 and the twins were nearly 9 when they left the UK for Australia in 1958.
The BeeGees have been out since the 50s. My favorite is How Can You Mend A Broken Heart from 1970. They wrote this song for Al Green and re recorded it. Both versions are fantastic. They sound different
The brothers Gibb / bee gee are four brothers in all. The three who sing together are lead singer, and older brother, Barry Gibb. His two back up singers are his younger siblings by 3 years. They are twins. The one without a beard is Robin, the other, the delicious brother with less hair but a full beard, is Maurice, and he pronounces it morris. At the time, They had a younger brother named Andy and he was a singer also. He died way to young. As a matter of fact the brothers are dying in the exact reverse of their births. Andy, Robin, Maurice and now the only brother alive is Barry, the oldest.
My favorite beegees songs are from the 60s. Yes they had their 1st number 1 hits in 1967. I'd check out Massachusetts and I started a joke. Robin the other guy with long hair on the left sings lead on those songs. You should hear the difference in their voices you'll be blown away
I found your channel looking for Bee Gees reactions. I was born in 1964 the Last Year of the Baby Boomers, I am 59 Years old. My favorite Singer is Elvis and my favorite group is the Bee Gees.
I can watch all of y'all that has never seen these guys, BUT, but, I really enjoyed watching your reaction. Get into the disco era with these guys. Like Rico or not, these guys will change your mind. Smile, a song they did on The Ed Sullivan show years and years ago. Duets, look up their duets. There was a fourth younger brother that went out on his own. These guys, like the man said, 60 years singing. Barry and Barbara Streisand duet. Sounds like too much heaven to me?
Definitely watch the music video of Stayin Alive. Barry center Robinn left MO on right brothers. Barry has a beautiful falsetto voice as well as lower range. All 3 have been harmonizing since their adolescent years. Love the magic of the BeeGees ❤❤❤❤
Still brings tears when I hear their voices harmonizing, wildly popular group whose career carried on for over 50 years ❣️ please listen to I Started A Joke, I’ve Got to Get a Message to You, Words, to really understand the diversity of this amazing band. After the sixties & seventies they went strong into the Disco era 🪩🪩🪩💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺🪩🪩🪩. My preference is the early songs of the sixties, very heart wrenching songs 💔🥰
They wrote this song in one night this is sung at a fundraiser to raise money unicf the Bee Gees wrote all their own songs and songs for other artists. This song raised $10 million dollars and every penny went to the charity.
