I was born in 1970 I have four kids. My oldest son is 31 my youngest son is 22 I have two daughters 23 and 25I have done my best with them and musical journey. It's totally awesome watching the youth enjoy the music of the past.

John Travolta was a beast at dancing. Such a talented actor. Love him! I would be surprised if you have not watched any of his films. Especially, Pulp Fiction. Their little brother Andy Gibb was definitely one of my childhood crushes. All the way up until he died of a drug overdose. The Bee Gees were always one of my favourites. I was little (born in 1970), but I'd be dancing to them like I was in a club then! My mom introduced me to so many really great British musicians. Along with some great Blue-eyed soul!

Just to clarify misinformation & confusion- I see many folks saying that Andy died from a drug overdose and that is INCORRECT. Yes, Andy had an addiction that he battled for many years. It was the heavy use of cocaine which lead to heart damage (weakening of the muscle). The official coroner's report states that Andy died of Myocarditis - an inflammatory virus that his weak heart could not overcome. I saw an interview once where Barry (or maybe it was Robin) saying that it made him very upset & angry that the general public believes the lie that Andy died from an overdose like some junkie in a back alley, when in truth he had died from a heart condition (exacerbated by drug use) which most people were not aware of...

I love this performance above all the others because their little brother Andy is on stage with them (sharing the mic with Maurice). Andy was very popular in his own right & had a huge fanbase. He was a solo artist but collaborated with his big brothers many times. They wrote songs together & sometimes Andy would show up at their performances. Sadly, he died at a very young age way back in 1988. He passed away just 5 days after his 30th birthday... He was the baby of the family & the first sibling to pass away. Followed by his twin brothers, Maurice & Robin. Only Barry & Lesley (first born & older sister) are still with us. The Bee Gees documentary is excellent - it'll give you their whole background. As others have said, the movie scenes are from "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta. He actually received an Oscar nomination for the role of a young, Italian man from Brooklyn, going out with his friends to the discos - his home life, his work life and him wanting to go further in life. But when they were making the movie, from what I remember, they needed to find someone or someones to create the music. A producer was told to ask the Bee Gees (and they weren't well known here in the U.S. at the time) but he was assured that he would not be disappointed. The Bee Gees could go into a studio in the morning and come out with five songs in the afternoon and they obviously hit it out of the park. The Saturday Night Fever album is one of the highest grossing albums of all time and rightly so. Love your reactions!

This family was as talented as they come. Go back and look at the videos of the 3 older brothers when they were like 13 years old. It was the pinnacle of dancing during the disco age. Those who knew how to dance trough TV's Soul Train got some extra knowledge trough this movie. Those who couldn't dance learned trough this movie how to dance. 3rd ; In the disco-era Disco' clubs-studios were the place to be in the weekend. Dancing was THE thing! EVERYBODY hit the dance-floor the moment they came in . No talking or hanging checking out on the sideline-table : U went straight to the floor to show ur latest moves and nobody gave anybody the look , cause everybody gave everybody space to have a great time. Latinos , whites , asian , Blacks , u were all one on that floor and in fact it was normal to dance with each other's girl cause the vibe was "no stealing someone's girl on purpose" and suddenly u would have mass dancing folks on the floor doing the same dance moves on floor like it was some line-dancing thing. Also total strangers trough that daily weekend dancing became sometimes friends cause that dancing was also a social thing were u met plp on the floor every weekend , same club and on the floor u had contact like if u would meet someone on the street and just say hi . .4th. One thing u were always after 25 min. on the floor was wet of sweat cause everybody was doing his best to show himself. 5 : There were lines before Disco's like getting tickets to the Superbowl every weekend and the bouncers were the guys to keep happy = Tip when u leave and say thank you and enxt time u would be moved up the line. Attitudes with "u know who i am" or bad talking was swift met with being beat up heavy and Police never helped you . All that "woke" being "offended" thing was then met with harsh and swift replies to kill it , so u knew u had to behave inside or outside in the line with "yes sir" no sir" and good vibe.
