You nailed the meaning of the song. They realize that they must "KILL" this sort of behavior in order to have a healthier relationship. Jennie, on the black and white swans, discusses yin/yang, she feels that in order to have happiness there must always be sadness, and she knows that she is destined to repeat her mistake. Lisa, the "cereal killer" (sorry, couldn't resist) believes in quantity over quality. She wants it all, even though love to her is a short, sweet sugar high that leaves her feeling empty and needing more. Jisoo, in the church, realizes that she is weak, her stronger future self destroys her with a flaming arrow. And Rosé, driving the car, also causes her own destruction, running herself down in the road, the license plate on her car reads "EGO".

Welcome to my addiction, bro. I'm a New York Rap/Rock guy, I checked BLACKPINK out when they debuted in 2016 and LITERALLY listen/watch them every day. Add to that the fact that they've been around 5 1/2 years and only have 21 original songs and 10 music videos and you'll see how crazy I am! They 're different bro, trust me. My bias (favorite) is Rosé, the blonde. She was raised in Australia and has a sweet Aussie accent that will destroy you.

The song is about "killing", or riding oneself of, harmful 'loves', weaknesses, or addictions to become a better, stronger, healthier person. Most of these ladies'songs are about 'girl power' and, if you have daughters, they're excellent roll models, as you'll see when you learn more about them. All their official M/V in korean have english subtitles - they also have Japanese 'covers' with different language balance and often lyrics, but they don't have sub's. This is one of the songs that helped put them on the "American" map. You may remember a couple of years back when Ariana Grande* broke a bunch of YT viewing record for, IIRC, "Thank you, Next"? If so, you may remember those records being broken only a week later - this is the M/V that did it... That was shortly before their two concerts at a little music festival called Coachella, where they were regarded as some of the best shows there - that's putting them right up with some of the biggest performers in the business, while still relatively 'unknowns'.

They have 5 songs with over a billion views. BLACKPINK debut in 2016. Five years later they are the biggest girl group on the planet. Individually they are also very successful I personally am ecstatic that Asians are finally been accepted they have tried for years and years to break through some have had minor success but nothing like BTS and BLACKPINK those two groups really smashed the KPOP world wide open because so many people are into Anime or Manga that they can now recognise the genre K POP is just one word to describe an entire range of artists from rappers to rockers to pop and it is incredibly successful and it is gaining more and more ground. The western style artists need to up their game but most of all they need to respect their fans more. The Korean artists have very strong bonds and connections with their fans they go live and interact with them. ARMY and BLINK are the two biggest ARMY is incredibly powerful and they are linked to BTS. Enjoy it here in the rabbit hole. Plenty room and so many to seek out and for future reverence if you do decide to look further get the lyrics before hand because not all the captions are true representations of the song. Korean doesn't always translate well and vice versa.

All the members can speak 3 langugues at minimum while Lisa the rapper is thai but She can speak 4 different languages fluently: English, thai, korean and Japanese just like a native speaker. She is basic in chinese. She is in the group blackpink and a lot of their video is in the 1 billion views and counting.

this was my exact reaction too when i first saw this video. it was my first kpop experience. i was stunned and realized i should put the captions on to understand but was too hypnotized by it all that i watched it and had to rewatch it with subtitles. these girls are amazing. i thought kpop was literally pop. call me naive because i was NOT expecting rap. between the singing, rapping, videos and catchy beats, i am obsessed with them.

Greatest group in the history of the world. When you do Blackpink reaction videos you need to do the MV like you just did along with the Tokyo Dome live performance of that song, and the making of the MV. One of the premises behind this video is that the stronger version of Rose & Jisoo need to kill off the weaker version of themselves because they were to weak to end the relationship once it became toxic. All blackpink songs have at least 2 meanings behind the song and the videos have all kinds of messaging. Enjoy the ride.
