totally understand the comparison of groups. I was the same when I first got into kpop. I will always compare the "new" ones I learn about to the ones I first saw. But, as time goes by, as I get into it, I tend to remove that "comparison" part, unless, they do the same type/genre of music. continue with your appreciation of the music, both of you. I've been a metalhead for over 50 years. I just stumbled onto Blackpink a couple of weeks ago. I had heard snippets of the song "How You Like That" on Tiktok, but that's all I knew about them. This song is 🔥in such a different way than metal. The beat is slow, but it hits hard. The vocals from all four ladies are excellent. What impresses me most is how they bring it with such attitude. They have swagger for sure, and they seem so confident. Regarding your rant, it's no different than metal. My all-time favorite band is an all female Japanese metal group, Lovebites. There's a all female rock band from Japan, Band-Maid, and fans of each have been known to argue back and forth who is better. Personally, I'm not overly enthusiastic with Band-Maid or BTS. It's because the style of music that Blackpink and Lovebites play is more up my alley (that's what my ears tell me). Just FYI, the vast majority of BTS Army and Blackpink Blinks get along just fine and fan both groups. There is just a very small but very vocal minority of toxic Army and toxic Blinks that live to crap on each other and take great offense if anyone compares the two. So, please don't think they are speaking for the vast majority of fans when they crap on you for comparing the two. And BTW, BTS are fanboys of Blackpink, with many members singing Blackpink songs on RU-vid or TikTok, and vice a versa. There are even rumors of members dating each other. So there is no beef between the groups.

Being an ARMY for years but also enjoying some of Blackpink's song I could tell you that the tension between both fandoms comes from the history of the groups (that you're of course are not aware of). Blackpink's company, YG, was one of the BIG-3 - the biggest 3 Kpop companies that used to control the whole music market in Korea. Literally, if these companies combine their effort, they were able to blacklist artists from national radio and television. And this was exactly what they did with BTS which comes from a very small (back in the days) label. So the group had almost no radio plays, very few appearance on the TV shows where they were mostly laughed at. However, BTS were lucky as it was the start of RU-vid era, so they put A LOT of effort to overcome the KPop industry pressure and eventually exploit in the US and overall in the West while still being not popular in their home country. When these BIG 3 companies realised that BTS's success on the west was not one0off thing, they started to use NTS's name to promote their own artists. YG made it especially a lot. Starting from late 2017-early 2018 you was not able to find an article about Blackpink where they did not put BTS's name for the comparison or claiming this is a girl version of BTS, eventually creating a lot of clout as people got curios. I mean, of course, if these girls were not talented people would not support them as clout could not compensate for the talent. However, ARMY's still could not forget this shady YG's tactic in attempt 'to steal' BTS's fans instead of working on development of their own fanbase. These has nothing to do with Blackpink's members, however apparently this disappointment is somewhat extended to the band. And this is one of the main reason (except for groups being completely different in terms of music, history, etc.) why ARMYs are sick of such comparison.

You are absolutely right in the opinion you express. I don't see any more bad comments, but evidence of such battles still remains here and there. Content providers no longer need to apologize in a social media society such as RU-vid or TikTok. It is because they only know how to blame celebrities (including RU-vidrs and TikTokkers) and ask for an apology, but they do not know how to forgive. Some may call it brazen, but as long as you haven't done anything terrible, like killing someone, then you're absolutely right, so just move on. The haters are immature and have no lives. I am an Army, and a Blink. You can literally enjoy both. Bts has depth, poetic lyricism, and their messaging is primarily about self love, mental health, and advocating for those who are weaker. They have some flex songs from their rap line, but it's not their primary message.They also cover multiple genres. Blackpink on the other hand is primarily about girl power, flexing, and being a badass. They have a few songs about being hurt from love, but again, it's not their primary messaging. Their genre is dominantly hip-hop. So while they are both Korean pop groups, they are very different and appeal to different types of people. Then are are people like me, who relate to both, hence are fans of both. Anyone who spends their energy hating on either are just.....sigh*.
